thirty-three: snippet

In his eyes, she was as beautiful as a star. In her eyes, he was the whole sky.

"You know, if you weren't my best friend, I would've already fucked you senseless." He struggled to stand as he slurred dirty words against her ear. She wrapped an arm around his torso to try and stop him from stumbling around but the feeling of his breath on her neck was a continuous distraction, making it harder for her to help him. He gladly slung his arm around her shoulders for support, smiling cheekily at her as he ruffled her hair. Normally, she would have scolded him for messing her hair up, but she knew that now wasn't the time.

There it was again. He was constantly reminding her that she had zero chances of ever being with him. The signs were obvious: he constantly flirted with other girls even though he was standing right beside her, he'd invite her over to his dorm a few hours after having sex with one of the other students in uni, and he constantly bragged to his teammates about how he had the best friend in the whole world. What did she get herself into?
