day twenty-seven.

Whilst Chase was preparing breakfast that day, to his surprise, he heard the door to his bedroom creak open - followed by the sound of footsteps making their way into the kitchen where Chase stood. 

"Good morning," Zero spoke - acting as if it were any other day. 

"Good morning," Chase responded. "I see you've finally decided to come out of your room."

"My room?" Zero said. 

Chase could almost hear him smiling. 

However, Chase found it difficult to smile that day. 

The way in which Zero kept pretending like nothing had happened between them was driving him insane. For God's sake, they had kissed twice. Both times Zero fled the scene. Both times it was followed by Zero giving Chase the silent treatment. Both times Zero acted as if it had never happened. 

Chase set the plate full of food on the dining table, "Go ahead and eat. You haven't eaten anything since that day."

"Ah.. right, about that- I'm really-"

"Don't," Chase interrupted. "You're going to say you're sorry, aren't you?"

He turned to face Zero, who didn't respond. 

Chase let out a deep breath as he watched Zero poke his food with a fork, "How long are you going to keep this up?"

"Keep what up?" Zero questioned with an innocent look. 

"How long are you going to pretend?" Chase said, clenching his jaw. "Pretend like that kiss never happened?"

Zero didn't respond, so Chase continued.

"You can at least tell me that you regret it. You can tell me that you find me disgusting. I just don't want you to ignore me and pretend like nothing ever happened between us."

"Who was that girl you walked with yesterday?" Zero questioned, completing disregarding everything Chase had just said. "I've never seen her with you before."

"Why is that what you're curious about?" Chase responded, trying his hardest to keep his cool. "Please respond to what I said first. At least don't ignore me now when I'm actually confronting you about-"

Zero interrupted Chase by slamming his fists down onto the table:

"Because I'm in love with you!"
