Act 33; I-I'm not jealous, Ts-Tsukki!
A/N)) I tried drawing rip. I can't colour to save my life lmao
Ren's P.O.V:
Daichi-san was seriously too nice to be a human being. Well- erm... I didn't mean it like that... Daichi-san is very sweet to take time out of his day and spend it with me. Not to mention that he is enjoying it. I rubbed my thumbs against the other under the small, coffee table we had been sitting at. I then suddenly had a nostalgic feeling march through my head, ceasing all other thoughts.
Hiyori and I had been at this cafe before, and I could've sworn that it was the same waitress serving us as well. My face flushed red as I closely investigated the captain's clothing. Combed back hair, a tie- geez, ties look great on him- I slapped my cheeks extremely hard against my palms and took a deep breath. "Are you... alright, Yoshida?" My eye lids suddenly expanded and I gave an on edge smile, "I feel the greatest, how 'bout you?"
He gave a small chuckle, and waved his hand, indicating that he felt the same way, "I'm alright." I looked down relieved, and a person came to take our orders. As his eyes scanned over the small menu, I already had a drink in mind. "What can I get for you two?" The lady spoke out in a very kind and soft tone.
It kind of reminded me of how Yamaguchi-san acts, but I dusted off that feeling. "M-may I get a vanilla bean mocha..? W-with some whip cream, if I may ask." I awkwardly said, as I glanced towards Daichi-san. "I can't decide whether to get an espresso or a smoothie..!" I raised an eyebrow sarcastically, "caffeine will surely affect the way you play in the inter-preliminaries, Daichi-san! He'll get the smoothie."
He gasped, and placed the piece of laminate down, "you really do sound like Suga, you know that?" The male then gazed towards the woman taking down notes, "the carrot and blueberry smoothie please." I then stuck out my tongue, taking notice of the options he had had, "out of everything, carrots and blueberries?"
"They're good for you. Besides, I need an equal amount of fruits and vegetables."
"But still... Carrots, seriously?" I gave a disgusted look, scrunching up my nose and filling my cheeks with air. "Why, do you not like carrots?"
"Yuck, steamed carrots especially... They are more irritating than homework on a break. It's called a break for a reason, ya' know?"
"Great, all you need now is thick, black glasses." I tilted my head in mere confusion. I could see perfectly well, was there something I had been overlooking? "Why..?"
"Never mind." We then continued to throw each other useless commentary, getting to know one another a little more. "Um... I-is that all..?" We both turned our heads to face the waitress that had been here for the past god knows how long. "Y-yeah we are."
As soon as she had disappeared from our sight, we both eyed each other and had burst into laughter. Yui clenched the menu in her hands quite tightly, trying to look over Sugawara's platinum blonde hair. "No way, they are totally at it!" She gaped, not realizing she had said that out loud for everyone to hear, especially a specific blonde and his best friend. Yamaguchi felt a little uncomfortable knowing that Ren had been so intrigued with her date, and unknowingly, his face turned a bright tomato colour.
"Are you alright, Yamaguchi? Are you perhaps jealous of this type of scenario?" Tsukishima teased, getting the reaction he had been hoping for. "E-eh, what, of course not- what are you like... ten or something?!" He promptly questions, only to get a snicker in return. As much as he wanted to tell Tsukishima to go away and mind his own business, he couldn't.
That was totally unlike him, but as much as it had been, he still managed to let the words slip right by him, "get out." This surprised the beanpole, and made him place his chin in his palm, "that's a first. Just how jealous are you?"
"I-I'm not jealous, Ts-Tsukki!" He pouted like quite the child, making heads turn to their dismay. "Shh, you guys are so loud!" Sugawara brought his index finger to his lips, and basically told them to shut up. Tsukishima clicked his tongue, and Yamaguchi went back to watching their date from behind the counter and by his own table with Tsukishima.
Listening closely to their conversation, Kageyama and Hinata were both acting pretty casual and good considering the fact that they were sitting together. The ginger knew something was missing, and he snapped his fingers as soon as he figured it out. "Where's Noya-senpai and Tanaka-senpai?" Kageyama and Tsukishima had also wanted to know, but since they both had to collect valuable information, the decided to keep their mouths shut. "Where is Tanaka-san and Nishinoya-san, Sugawara-san?"
"Asahi and Ennoshita are making sure they don't find out about this, otherwise there would sure be an uproar, right?"
"Coming to think of it, Yuu and Ryu are pretty busy today. Didn't they say that they had a movie to see together?" Yui shook her head in disappointment, adding on to the vice captain's answer. "Poor Asahi and Ennoshita... They had to see that movie..."
"What movie is it?" Yamaguchi questions innocently, looking at the two third years, back and forth. "It's like this movie about this sea monster eating away the citizens of Tokyo."
"Yeah, they said that they may be able to see those city boys in it, but we all know it's because it has the sea, and the sea has a beach-"
"-and the beach has girls-"
"and has beach volleyball, right? Whoa, my senpai's are so cool!" Hinata, the boy full of sunshine and innocence cut into Yui and Suga's explanation like a knife, making everyone face palm. "No, Shoyou... that's not it..."
"You're too innocent, Idiot-"
"I bet the king doesn't get it either." Tsukishima scoffed, making Kageyama cringe and think, "it's because it contains gore, correct?" Everyone had a deadpanned expression, "incorrect, Kageyama-san." Yamaguchi sighed, as he and Sugawara had taken notice of the waitress going back to Daichi's table. "Guy's, she is back," the third year watched intently, putting the menu over his face once more.
After the bunch followed his movements, they all settled down. The freckled first year had a weird feeling get to his stomach, and he unconsciously formed a frown that was quite evident on his face. The blonde observed his friend's behavior, and his eyebrows met. He didn't know why he was so... bothered by this feeling. Perhaps it's because Yamaguchi hadn't told him? Trusted him even..?
Anyways, brushing this feeling aside, the middle blocker went back to watching. The waitress placed down the two drinks and took a bow, "is there anything else you two may need?" Not even a second after, Daichi had dismissed her, "that's all for now; thank you." Taking her leave, the couple then grabbed their drinks with no second thought. Ren gave a sweet smile, and took a sip from the warm cup.
Daichi gave a few laughs, making the girl look at him pretty confused, "what's wrong?"
"Oh, nothing is! It's just that..." Leaving it off like that, he then pointed towards his green smoothie, resulting with Ren looking at it as well. And she started chuckling too, having them both just giggle away. Apparently the waitress placed two straws in the captain's beverage, and they had twisted in a way that formed a heart.
Yui couldn't believe it, she felt her face grow warm; whether it was out of jealousy or the scenario, she couldn't bare witness her crush experiencing something so-! She didn't even know what to think at this point. "That's it-!" The female captain stood up from her seat, grabbing her cell phone from her back pocket, making Sugawara and the rest of the gang bewildered. She then dialed a number and raised it to her ear slowly and carefully, clearing her throat out in the process.
"What are you doing?" Yamaguchi asked, fixing the collar on his blue and red checkered shirt. Yui then brought her hand up to her head and gave a rigid thumbs up. As soon as they realized what had happened, and before any of them could stop the call, a familiar ring tone filled the shop. "Hey, Yui."
"Yui-senpai is on the other line? Tell her I say hi," Ren gave a cheeky grin, making Daichi hold the phone with both of his hands, "Yoshida says hi, by the way. What do you need-?" Yui could feel eyes bore into her soul, and she just wanted to make this conversation end as soon as she possibly could. "M-my volleyball got stuck in a tree again!" The male then had his eyebrows slant downwards, "again?"
"Y-yeah, I kind of need your help to get it back..."
"Right now, Yui? I'm kind of busy," he said as he glanced over at Ren who had been trying to cool down her mocha. She then saw this and felt the envy grow inside of her; the vicious aura around the short female made every one of them back away slowly. "I actually decided to donate it, and the charity ends in about a few hour-"
"I'll be on my way!" Daichi yelled, standing up and hanging up the phone, having Ren look up at him pretty dumbfounded. Everyone around Yui gave her a very disappointed look, making her rub her neck awkwardly, "I-I'll be on my way as well."
"Yeah, have fun, senpai," Tsukishima sarcastically wished, as she left before Daichi did. As soon as their captain had passed by them, they had raised their menus up and in front of their faces, making sure that they weren't recognizable. A few moments earlier, he had placed some yen on the counter and paid for their drinks.
What should I do now? I asked myself, sitting on the table, sipping on my hot beverage.
This is good, I thought to myself, even if it was fun; my date is over now, isn't it? I then started grabbing my drink and dusted off my clothing. Bzzt! I felt a rough vibration from inside my pocket, and I took it out in front of me.
Trashishima Kei -.-
2:23 PM
It doesn't count if you don't have a date for the entire day, you know that, right?
My eyelids expanded slightly, and I just stared at the screen dumbly. What the hell, does he know or something- Then, it hit me.
"Isn't it obvious? He dared you, so he will most likely make sure."
I started whipping my head around, trying to look for anyone that resembled my friends, or, more precisely, Tsukishima-kun.
Trashishima Kei -.-
2:25 PM
You won't find me even if you look. Guess who's my slave for the week?
I gritted my teeth, as I continued to search for the source of the text message. What the-? Daichi-san did say he was busy and had to help Yui-senpai with a situation... I sat down again and went to my contact list. I disliked how I was practically following his orders as such, but... Ring, ring... Pick up please.
You're the only one who can save me from this jerk.
"H-hello, do you need something, Yoshida?"
"A-ah, Sugawara-san; I-I have this favour to ask..."
"What may that be?" I gave a hesitant smile, before explaining the situation to him, "so about that dating thing with Daichi-san..."
"What about it?"
"Well... He was kind of busy, and I can't complete the bet without going a full day with a third year-"
"-and you want me to be there, correct?" I nodded sheepishly, "yeah."
"I'll definitely come, don't worry, Yoshida."My face lit up and I could feel my eyes glimmer,
"r-really? Thank you so much!" I heard the third year chuckle from the other side, "Alright, alright, may I get the location?" I sighed out of relief and looked at the sign of the shop, "I'm at Hoshiyamakohi right now; are you close?"
"Very close, actually." I saw him in front of me and he placed his phone back into his pocket.
-Call disconnected-
I looked up amused, "that was so quick!" He then gestured me to follow him, "come on, let's go somewhere else." I exhaled, I'm now curious, gosh.
--
At first, both of us entered an art store, which I had no say in. But I guess my face gave it away, and he even offered to get me a few supplies. I refused, obviously, but he ended up grabbing me a few stationary supplies like 2B pencils and kneaded erasers. We then came across an arcade, which made me stop him and beg Sugawara-san to stay there for a bit. This time, I bought a few tokens, and we both split them equally.
"How cool, they have Dance Dance Revolution here!" I had my eyes wide, and I stepped onto the stage. "Look, Suga-san! It's two players as well," he then joined in as well, and he grinned, "I'm not great at this game, you'll probably beat me quickly." I closed my eyes halfway and placed a hand on my hip, "liar."
I just said that out loud again, didn't I?
To my fortune, he started to laugh, and his expression turned all gleeful a few moments later, "we'll see about that."
"I'm actually confident- I think I'll win." I pointed a thumb at myself, smirking like quite the idiot. Suga-san and I then started the game, and it was on a pretty difficult difficulty.
Left, right, forward- this is too complicated! I can't keep up- Just then, I noticed how the platinum blonde was getting them all perfect. Sugawara-san, you smooth liar. The match ended with him winning, and he ended up titling as the one with the highest score as well. I sighed, "you're actually so good- why did you say that?"
"I'm surprised myself; this is the first time I had played this game..!" He tried catching his breath, as I stood there in disbelief. "Whatever, the day is almost over," I checked the time on my device which had read 6:09 PM.
Geez, we spent about two hours here.
"Not quite, Yoshida. There is one more thing I'd like to do," he smiled sweetly, grabbing my hand and literally dragging me out of the building. H-hey, wait up-!" As soon as I knew it, we had been running down the street into a shop. It smelt quite nice, but I had no time to check what it was. By the looks of it though, there were flowers surrounding the inside and before anyone had knew it, I had been looking through them all.
"Whoa, these are so pretty!"
"Which ones do you like?" The vice captain asked, as I investigated the red plants a little more, touching their thorns slightly. "I like roses, but some lavender have a nice smell," I spoke out quite interested as I held the bag that contained the art supplies closely. "Over here, we'll grab these ones!" Sugawara-san waved the female workers over this way, as he bought a bouquet mixed with both lavender and roses.
I stared at his blankly as he acquired the item, what are they for? Speaking of which, the day is over. Should I get going-?
"These are for you," a familiar voice spoke out, handing me an object. It took me a while to realize this, and my face turned a furious red. Covering my cheeks with both my hands, "w-what? I can't accept these, Sugawara-san!"
"Yeah you can. See? I just bought you them." He gave a kind expression, having me take them from his hands, this is so wrong, Ren. "But why? I-I mean, thank you very much, but I didn't do anything to deserve this."
"Sure you did, this is a date, after all. Might as well, right?" I then looked down in a very awkward manner, "th-thank you, Sugawara-san. For today," I then gripped the bouquet tightly, "a-and all..."
Geez, you're too much, Suga-san. Like the definition of perfect...
