Act 27; That thing has a name, Shittykawa!!
Ren's P.O.V:
"EHHH?!" Noya-senpai and Tanaka-senpai yelled, a bit shocked by the comment earlier. "Y-you're turning 15?" Tanaka-senpai questioned, as Noya-senpai grabbed his shirt where his chest was, and clenched it dramatically. "Noya-san... You're being a little too over dramatic," Sugawara-san sighed, and placed his hand on his head, "but seriously? You're 15? Who would've thought?"
"Yeah... And after all this time I planned..." Yamaguchi-san said bluntly, and a specific blonde put his headphones down on the table very delicately, "so are you a prodigy or something of that sort?" Hiyori clasped her hands together, and had a grin that reached from ear to ear. "Yoshi-su could pass as a prodigy, since she's really smart!" She then eyed over to Oikawa-kun and Kageyama.
The black haired setter glanced at the brunette, who did the same and shrugged. Sayaka crossed her arms, and averted her gaze back to me. "I think she is a prodigy, Hiyori." My cheeks heated up in a flustered manner, before Hinata came flying out of nowhere. "So I'm older than her still!!"
Tsukishima-kun snickered, and Kenma squinted his eyes. "You're still not taller though, Shoyou..." Everyone bursted into laughter, including me as well. "O-oh yeah, I'm going to become the little giant some day!" Hinata's face became the darkest shade a red could get.
"Yeah," Tsukishima-kun quieted down, "without the giant part." I chuckled, and you could hear Kageyama holding in his laughter. "Enough, enough." Daichi-san held his arms out, standing up. "Can we just have Yoshida cut the cake in peace?"
I nodded very slowly, as I picked up the cake knife steadily. "EHHH, WAIT- THAT'S YOSHIDA?" Kuroo smacked his hand on the table, and everyone glared at him. "Yeah, it is," Noya-senpai stared daggers at the guest. "You wanna rumble, city boy?"
Tsukishima-kun scoffed at Tanaka-senpai's comment, "he said shitty boy." Kenma looked down, "I told you that, Kuroo."
"Eh- b-but Kenma, you said it was Yoshida from the training camp!" Hinata and Asahi-san nodded in sync, "it is Yoshida from training camp..." Kuroo then face palmed, "geez... I thought it was a dude." Seeing the captain of the great Nekoma team so distraught, I couldn't help but chuckle. "Don't mind, Kuroo-kun," I hand gestured, "I get that a lot."
Oikawa-kun got up and pointed in my direction, "how did you think that thing was a boy?!" Iwaizumi-san crept up from behind him, smacking his head. "That thing has a name, Shittykawa!!"
"OW, Iwa-chan that hurt!"
"No freaking shit- Of course it'd hurt!" He yelled, before taking a look at the situation around him. "My apologies," he sat down, pulling Oikawa-kun back as well, "continue." I sweat dropped, as I watched my hands grip the knife. "Don't mind Kuroo's comment, just continue on," Kenma sighed, looking back at me. I nodded slowly, and took my time dropping the knife onto the pastry.
One, two, and...
I cut through with one side, then the other. The white frosting got all over my hand, but I didn't mind. I picked up the first piece, and placed it on a plate. My gaze trailed to the blonde, and I was about to give it to him first.
Don't be stupid, Ren.
I handed the first one to Yamaguchi-san, and he took it pretty calmly. "Th-thank you."
"No need to thank me, Yamaguchi-san." I smiled, wiping the icing off my right hand, "you're the one who deserves it."
"Yeah, Yamaguchi worked hard, so it's kind of obvious he gets it first." Hinata gave a cheeky grin.
Yeah- Thank god I hadn't given it to Tsukishima-kun.
I looked at him, and we accidentally made eye contact. My heart beat sped up, and I pulled my gaze away right after.
That jerk.
On the other hand, Kuroo-kun seemed like he was going to die. He had his head planted to the round table he and Kenma had been sitting on, which kind of worried me. But Kenma actually seemed like he was paying attention... for once.
Hinata had walked over to them both, I guess to check up on how the messy haired captain was doing, but ended up engaging Kenma into a conversation instead. I continued to slice the cake, one by one. Geez, this is so much work.
I handed it out to Kenma and Kuroo-kun first, since they were guests, and came here from Tokyo. "Here you go," I smiled, placing the vanilla cake onto their table. "Thank you..." Kenma hardly spoke, and Kuroo-kun muffled his gratitude also.
Wow. He didn't seem like the type.
"Yoshida-chan!" I flinched, spinning myself around to see a familiar ginger standing a few feet away from me. "I can hand out the cake, if you want!" I chuckled, patting him on the head, "thank you, Hinata." He curled his hands into a fist, bumping them mid-air, smiling, "no problem."
I sliced a few more pieces, and handed them out to the other first year. "This one's for Kageyama." He nodded, "osu, leave it to me!" Next one was the other two, and I was grateful I hadn't been the one handing them out. The place became lively, and I was sort of glad since Hinata had been afraid of Oikawa-kun. And to be honest, I kind of know why.
We did this until everyone eventually got a piece.
Well, everyone but Hinata, Tsukishima-kun and I.
But the problem was... there was only two left. "Gosh-" I face palmed, "how could I be so stupid..?"
"What's the matter?" The energetic male hopped, coming back to deliver a piece to the beanpole. "N-nothing, this one's for Tsukishima-kun."
"Alright!" With that, I gave the last slice to Hinata, since he obviously deserved it. Whatever, I wasn't a big fan of vanilla cake anyways... I shuffled over towards Yamaguchi-san and Tsukishima-kun, and sat down beside them. "Yoshida-san?" The freckled first year called out.
"Yeah?"
"Why don't you have a piece- don't tell me there wasn't enough!" He slanted his eyebrows. "No, no- don't worry about it," I sighed, "I'm glad there's so many people for my birthday."
"But..." Yamaguchi-san pouted, and Tsukishima-kun placed his head in the palm of his hand, which rested on the table. "Here then." He pushed his piece of cake towards me. "E-eh..? N-no thanks, Tsukishima-kun-"
Was he... trying to be nice?
A blush then crept up on my face. "I didn't want any of the cake. I bet it's disgusting." I popped a vein, and Yamaguchi-san tilted his head in confusion. "F-fine then, someone so unappreciative doesn't deserve any cake. I can assure you Kiyoko-san and Asahi-san probably spent a whole bunch of time making this."
"Sure, sure," he started, waving his hand up and down, "I don't really care." I took a fork and stabbed the pastry mercilessly, shoving it in my mouth. "Be that way." Yamaguchi-san seemed dumbfounded, but went back to eating his as well. "What should we do now?"
Hinata jumped into our conversation, flinging his arms around Yamaguchi-san. "I know, I know!"
"Dumbass Hinata, don't butt into other people's business!" The orange haired male stepped back, "I'm not!" Kageyama raised an eyebrow, "you're not?" Hinata rubbed his neck, "well, yeah... sort of?" I chuckled, and Tsukishima-kun scooted away from the two. "Stay away; otherwise you'll catch their idiocy."
Yamaguchi-san put two thumbs up, "nice one, Tsukki!"
"Well, whatever then." Hinata crossed his arms childishly, standing up. "I was going to suggest we open presents, but whatever." My ears perked up, and I was pretty sure everyone could tell. "That's actually..." Kageyama looked at the first year, "pretty smart..."
The freckled one of us got out of his chair, and grinned like an idiot. "Okay- Let me tell Daichi-san!"
--
"A-amazing!" I shouted, investigating an entire table filled with gift bags. "A-are these all for me?!"
"No, of course not." Sayaka spoke sarcastically, a little excitement in her tone though. Sugawara-san started to laugh, and Daichi-san placed a hand on his hip, "of course it's for you, Yoshida."
"How cool!" I ran up to the table and sat down, looking up at the people sitting there. "I've never had so many people over before!" Tsukishima-kun murmured under his breath, "gee. I wonder why." I smiled idiotically, "it's usually just me and my mom."
Asahi-san sweat dropped, "I'm glad you get this opportunity then." I nodded quickly, "lets open these then." The first one was a green and purple striped bag/box looking thing. I picked it up, and opened it. Then, I pulled out a brand new basketball.
My eyes widened at the object, and I smiled. This isn't time to feel nostalgic, Ren. "Who got me this?" A familiar figure raised his hand up, "I did!" I chuckled and placed the bag with the present on the side. "Thank you kindly, Hinata."
He sheepishly shuffled, "you're welcome, Yoshida-chan." The second gift bag was one that looked oddly familiar. Maybe I saw someone walk in with it? I reached into the bag, and grabbed what felt like clothing. I then pulled it out, and unfolded them in front of me.
"These are so cool!" I gasped, looking at the checkered blue and black print. Another one was an oversized, black hoodie, with a white 'can't hit these balls' written on the front of it. On the back, was a picture of a volleyball.
Wait.
I raised the sweater in the air, and investigated the words, "really?" I raised an eyebrow, and turned the front side of the top to the people sitting. "Who got me this?" Oikawa-kun bursted into laughter and Iwaizumi-san tried his best to hold it in. Tsukishima-kun was snickering, as usual, and Yamaguchi-san awkwardly looked downwards.
Nishinoya-senpai and Tanaka-senpai were having a blast; the taller of the two asked why they hadn't got me this instead. "Oh my gosh-" Sugawara-san tried catching his breath, since everyone including the captain was laughing. Kenma turned to Kuroo-kun, who was just smirking evilly, and raised his hands up in an innocent manner. "Hey- I thought you were a dude, okay?"
I squinted my eyes at him, and chuckled. "I-it's okay, Kuroo-kun, I like it."
"Really?" Hiyori smiled, the entire situation was too much. "Really-" I stopped myself, and slipped it on, "see?" Hinata came around me, and stared at it desperately, "I don't get it."
Kageyama face palmed, and pushed him back to his seat, "you're too innocent for these types of things, idiot."
"There's something else inside." Kuroo-kun instructed, still fazed by his mistake. I reached back into the bag, and my fingers touched a smooth surface. I grabbed it and pulled it out, "oh my god."
I grinned idiotically, "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!"
"What is it?" Iwaizumi-san asked, a little annoyed by my reaction. I flipped my hand over to their side and squealed, "it's GoM!"
"Gom?" Kageyama asked, putting his hand to his chin. "Generation of Miracles- Akashi-cchi looks so cute, I can't!!" My face heated up, and I put the phone case on the side. "Wow, who knew even Yoshida...?"
"Could fan girl..." Hiyori added on to the blondes comment.
GoM in chibi form is so cute.
After I calmed down, an arrow of realization struck me. "Oh, yeah... Who got me this?"
"That'd be Kenma here." The cat's captain pointed, having him look at his phone awkwardly. "Shoyou told me you liked Teiko's basketball team... And that your phone case broke." I smiled heart fully, "thank you, Kenma, Hinata." The cat-like blonde pulled his gaze away, "no problem."
