Act 26; What'd you wish for?

She couldn't be that bad... Could she?

Yoshida Ren had a nice figure, certainly. She just lost confidence in herself. After the volleyball incident- no. After the basketball team had been full, hadn't existed, or she couldn't join, she had become an insecure person, surely. She looked up to so many people, and watched their every move. Like, "amazing! I want to become like Midorima-senpai and shoot amazing three-pointers like those!" Or even, "gwah! Akashi-sama, that was so cool!"

But it seemed like she forgot about that completely. Maybe because they had split up in high school, disappointing her. Yes, she was a Japanese fanatic looking up to these guys, and she could have easily went to their schools as well, so why Karasuno? Why Miyagi?

At first glance, she looked normal. Almost too normal to be normal. With her light tan skin and dark grayish-green, almost black eyes, to her extremely dark brown hair, she looked average. Everything about her was average. Hell, her personality seems like it was ripped out of a cliché shoujo manga.

But it wasn't, and she couldn't change that. It was a habit to tie her hair into a messy ponytail every day, and she was too picky on how she wore skirts. So it wasn't her fault; it's not like she wanted to wear pants as such. It's not like she wanted to look like a guy. It's not like she wanted her parents to send her here.

It's not like she wanted to fall in love with someone so out of reach.

She wanted someone to stop her, tell her she was crazy, that it'd be okay. But alas, someone like that longed to come, and she thinks she knows that they're at this school, waiting for her. Or so she wants.

---

The girl gave a yawn, before looking at the taller figure on her left.

Why?

She was squished between her two favorite people. "How irritating. Can't they get one more table?" Yamaguchi sighed, "well, there was enough." They all looked at the brunette taking up space with his best friend. They should be grateful Oikawa hadn't dragged a few of his fan girls along.

If you investigated a little longer, the more it looked like he had unused seats next to him. "That's it," Ren stood up, trying to look all heroic, "I'm going in." Tsukishima shrugged, and Yamaguchi raised a brow, both careless as in what she wanted to do. She smacked her hand onto the table, almost tripping since she wanted to pass from in front of Tsukishima. "No way." He snickered, placing his legs up on the table.

Ren gave a grunt, before going the other way, since Yamaguchi gladly moved out.

Learn a thing or two, Trashishima.

She tried being as casual as she could, but what could she do? She was awkward. "Oi, can you scoot in?" Ren confronted the new comers. The raven haired male and the brunette looked up at her from their phones; they had nothing better to do.

"Of course," Oikawa started, raising his phone up with the page of his contacts, "but only if I get your number~" The girls cheeks heated up, but she brushed it off, and averted her eyes, and fiddled with her fingers.

Get a grip, Ren! He's just a flirt!

"Trashikawa, Don't go around taking advantage of people!" Iwa smacked the back of his head.

This guy's cooler, certainly.

"Ow... It's not my fault I can get girls..."

"What was that?" The shorter male popped a vein. "N-Nothing, Iwa-chan," he sweat dropped. "I'm sorry to interrupt," Ren gave an awkward glance towards the boys. Oikawa and Iwaizumi, was it?

"I-I'm Yoshida R-Ren." She put her arm out for a hand shake with the shorter of the two. "Iwaizumi Hajime, nice to meet you..." His cheeks burned up while he shook her hand, most probably out of embarrassment. "I'm Oikawa Tooru~" A voice spoke up, while putting his arm out, much to Ren's disliking.

Well, what a person. She extended her arm, and Oikawa pulled his arm back in, puzzling Ren. "Oh, I'm sorry," he flipped his hair, all model-like, "I don't want to capture your heart yet, Yoshi-chan~" She squinted her eyes, and she gave a disgusted look to the male. It stayed unbelievably silent for a few seconds.

"Don't just stand there, say something!" He cried out childishly. Ren walked off, thinking about her life choices. "How mean!" The brunette crossed his arms, and sat back in his seat, Iwaizumi dying of laughter on the side.

"Can get all the girls, yeah right!" Iwaizumi was running out of air due to his laughing. Hiyori and Sayaka encountered her once again, pulling her to a quiet place, near a corner. "So, so? What'd he say, Yoshi-su?" She closed her eyes, raised eyebrows and no expression to her cold tone. "He's trash, keep him away from me."

Sayaka started to chuckle slightly, "is Yoshida starting to get an opinion? You usually never insult someone." Ren's cheeks burned up, "eh..? Well, It wasn't really that bad..."

It was terrible.

"He seems pretty interested in you!" Ren scoffed, and choked on air, "pardon? We just met- Not to mention the whole trash situation." Hiyori placed her hand on her chin, "that's odd... Usually everyone falls for Oikawa-kun... Maybe you like someone?" But Ren started to walk away from the situation, back to Yamaguchi and Tsukishima's table.

Ignore it. Ignore it.

"Oi, Yoshi-su!" Hiyori called out, only to be silenced by the fact no one was answering. "What can we do about it?" Sayaka smiled, crossed arms. Ren went back down to her seat, and it was a tad bit roomier than before.

"So, how was your first impression on the Grand King?"

"Grand king?" She buried her head into her arms, "more like Grand Trash." Tsukishima laughed at that, not once has he, or even Yamaguchi see this side of Ren. Was she immune to his flirting? Anyways, everyone else was helping around, but since Tsukishima was only book smart, and Yamaguchi needed to rest, they were the only three that were excused from working.

It should be done soon.

Yamaguchi thought, shortly before he heard the bell ring, caused by the door. "Who is it?" Yamaguchi lazily called out. A ginger ran out from the kitchen, suddenly, holding his phone. "Kenma-san?! I thought you said you couldn't make it!"

The blonde setter walked in, holding a gift bag on his arm, and his mobile device in the other. "Kuroo forced me to go... and I texted you, Shoyou." He looked up at the taller male, who gave a yawn, standing in one place. Ren sat up straight, along with Tsukishima who was followed by Yamaguchi. "Kenma..." She started, "...san?" Yamaguchi finished.

Tsukishima sat there uninterested, listening to music with his headphones on. "Ah! It's you two!" Oikawa sat up fast enough to drop his chair. Iwaizumi kicked him from underneath the table, "be a little more respectful, will you?!" Kageyama came from the dining table, "Oikawa-san, you know them?"

They weren't exactly rivals at the moment, but he couldn't help but feel envious to the fact that Tooru knew Kenma more than he did. "Yeah, we played them a year or two back." Iwaizumi stated, trying to keep his calm. Daichi walked from behind the conversation, "what is Nekoma doing here?" Kuroo crossed his arms, smirking, "how rude. We were also invited."

Kenma gripped the bag, "actually, it was only me. Kuroo decided to come." The third year sweat dropped, "you didn't need to say that, Kenma."

"Uwaaahh! You guys played the grand king, who won!?" Kuroo chuckled, "we did."

"Yeah, but that was a long time ago! Our team has improved!" Ren smirked, "but we won, did we not?" Daichi wanted to cry, and wiped a tear. They grow up so fast...

But stop learning things from Tsukishima, Ren. You're too innocent.

Oikawa flinched, "I wasn't there though!" Iwaizumi threw the napkin holder at the captains head, "don't make it seem like you make a big difference!"

"OW- but Iwa-Chan! As our ace, you should know that!"

"Shut up, Shittykawa!" Hinata hopped in, "I wanna become an ace as great as the little giant!" Daichi pushed Hinata into the kitchen, "not the time, Hinata."

"But I guess it's true, Trashikawa wasn't there to lead the team." Kuroo laughed, "you still make a big deal out of things, don't you?" Oikawa gave a pout, and crossed his arms, "we'll just see in the Inter-high Preliminaries." The aura around them changed, Ren could swear it. "Yeah, you better not lose, Kuroo," Daichi grinned.

"Same to you, Oikawa."

"For Daichi as well, don't lose before we beat you." They gave a laugh, and smiled to each other. How cute! The captains are getting along!

Ren internally fangirled, are they rivals or what-?

Okay, I really should stop.

Hinata dashed in the middle, pulling Kageyama along, "we won't lose! As long as I have this guy tossing to me!" Kageyama smacked his head, embarrassed, "dumbass Hinata! Shut up about it!"

"Oh? But now that we are aware of your tactic, we can certainly beat it now." Hinata flinched, while Kageyama placed his hand on his chin.

True, but that's the only tactic I can use with Hinata.

"Then we'll improve it- right, Kageyama?" The setter nodded, "certainly." Sugawara came from behind Daichi, and whispered something in his ear. Now that Kenma was here, they can get on with the occasion. "Alright guys," Daichi clasped his hands together, "take a seat!"

After Ren and the others sat down, Oikawa came scooting closer to her.

Geez- What does he want?

"Ren-chan!"

Ren-chan?!

She glanced over to Tsukishima who was sitting there on his phone.

Damn it, get in the mood will you?

Her gaze averted to Iwaizumi, who seemed to be having a blast with Tanaka and Noya.

How. On. Earth.

She looked back to the brunette from Aoba Johsai uncomfortably, taking out her device to make things look less awkward.

Maybe Tsukishima's tactic will work.

But she felt guilty, and made eye contact with the clingy male. "Y-yes..?" Before he said something else, he grabbed her phone out of her hand, and took out his own. Ren didn't do anything but sit there dumbfounded as in to what happened. He smiled and handed her the phone back, "here's my number, since I know you wanted it~"

Ren flinched back, closing in on the gap between her and Tsukishima. "N-not really..." Oikawa dropped his head low, stoned expression, but immediately raised it again, grinning idiotically.

S-so bright!

"No need to be so cold, Ren-chan!"

"I'm not..." Oikawa then started texting on his phone,

Oikawa <3

Subject;

You look great today, Ren-chan!

Her eyes widened shortly after feeling her hand vibrate.

Lovely, he added his name too.

Ren-chan~

Subject; Re;

Stop calling me by my first name, Oikawa-kun. My surname is fine..

He sighed, since she was once again, not affected by his flirting. "Okay, okay! Get ready!" Yamaguchi called out, smiling. But she noticed how he took a glance at her, then Tsukishima. Kiyoko came out from the kitchen, holding a three-layered ice cream cake with the lit up number 16 on them.

Oh no.

Asahi came out from behind her with a cake knife. "Oh~ It's your birthday, Ren-chan?" She watched as the cake placed itself onto the table, and Ren's face turned a slight red. "Y-yeah..."

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" He yelled, making Ren leap back, hitting into Tsukishima. "Watch it, will you?" He glared at her. "S-sorry!" She

"My," Kuroo smirked, "glasses-kun isn't really nice." Tsukishima shrugged it off. "How about we start singing?" Hinata suggested, having Nishinoya and Tanaka second on that. "E-eh, y-you guys don't have to... I mean..."

"Come on, Yoshi-su! Don't be like that!" Hiyori patted her back, and giggled. After an awkward moment of everyone singing, Ren could feel her heart beat in her head.

Tsukishima was wording along with it...

"Come on, Yoshida, blow out the candles!" Sugawara laughed, and pushed her towards the cake. She was stiff, and she had nothing to say. Ren made her way to the front of the table, and played with her thumbs. "Th-thank you guys!" She shouted unnaturally, looking down.

"You're welcome, Yoshida-chan," Hinata smiled, giving a thumbs up. She took a deep breath, and blew out the fire. Everyone clapped for her and she breathed. "What'd you wish for?" Kageyama questioned.

"Um... For everyone to get along and..." She glanced at Tsukishima really quickly, and her face became hot.

She couldn't say that.

"And... f-for everyone's well being."

"Wow, Yoshida, you're 16 now?" Tanaka asked, curiosity taking the better of him. Daichi and Sugawara sniffed, they really do grow. "Actually," she started, rubbing her arm, "I'm turning 15."

A/N) Trash Trash everywhere.

Slight KnB reference- credit to the creator of that as well.

Oikawa oml I blame this on you.
