Act 2; Who's this king?

Ren's P.O.V:

"S-so, Yamaguchi-san..?" I spoke out, almost a little too quiet for him to hear. Yamaguchi turned to me, and it took a while for me to notice it;

Isn't Yamaguchi-san my height?

"Yamaguchi...san? What's your height?" I asked, hoping to maybe; start up a conversation as we walked. "Oh, that's right, Yoshida-san, we are almost the same height." I couldn't help but smile, since my family would always say I'm really tall... But coming over here, I really think I underestimated their heights...

"Y-yeah-"

"But I'm still taller though." Yamaguchi said, with a thumb pointing to himself with pride, continuing to pace. "I'm 172.8 cm," I hopped, not noticing that Tsukishima-kun was still walking ahead of us.

I totally forgot about him-

"Well, I-I'm 179.5 cm. B-But I'm not looking down that far!" He smiled catching up to Tsukishima-kun.

"Tsukishima-kun? H-H-How tall are you?" I asked looking up at him.

I'm obviously nervous... What does it take to get a guy like this used to you?

"Tsukki's 188.3 cm!" Yamaguchi-san stated proudly before a certain male cut him off. "Shut up, Yamaguchi."

"Sorry Tsukki~"

188 cm though? That's huge... That's over 6 foot.

I opened my mouth, about to say something, before Yamaguchi-san beat me to it. "We're here." He smiled, before opening the door to the rooftop. I walked out first, before realizing the area.

It's still cloudy out... Are we really going to sit here? Well, it's not like I mind-

"Is there something wrong with sitting in the rain? Or should I get Her Highness a chair?" My cheeks turned a deep shade of red, "n-no... I-I'll be fine..." Quietly saying, I went ahead and sat down in front. "Is here... alright?"

"H-here should be okay," Yamaguchi-san followed. "I don't really care," Tsukishima-kun put his headphones on, sitting down as well. I checked my phone, taking a short look at what time it was.

We have about 20 minutes left. What should I say?

"I-it sure is a nice e-evening..." Tsukishima-kun then looked at me, with a dirty look. I immediately broke contact and pulled out my 'so called' lunch.

There's no one up here... Is it because it was raining, or is it a restricted area?

It was a plain, white and blue container, with a drawn panda bear on the cover.

I can't let anyone know that I drew this on-

"That's a nice bento." Yamaguchi-san stated, taking out his own. It didn't take me long to realize that he was probably as nervous as I was. "O-oh really? I-It's really just toast..."

I'm so awkward.

"Y-yeah..." It stayed silent for a good 5 minutes and there was so much I had to worry about.

What if I'm boring? Does Yamaguchi-san want to leave? What if I can't make them my friends? Tsukishima-kun already finds me annoying, what if I get left alone?

"T-Tsukishima-kun?" I breathed, trying to start something up.

Yamaguchi-san is eating alone... Does he do this all the time when eating with Tsukishima-kun? Or is it just because I'm here?

Tsukishima-kun didn't answer back. "O-oi..." I softly shouted, which was either not intimidating enough or just to quiet. "Who's this king?" Tsukishima-kun looked at me, then continued to drink from his water bottle, putting it back where it was. "I don't want to answer that-"

"I-Is he cool?" That spiked his attention, and by the looks of it, he was already smirking, taking off his headphones. "Yeah, yeah. The kings super cool. He is a king, after all." Yamaguchi-san stayed quiet, since he probably didn't want to disrupt his friend while he was talking. "H-He is? What's he the king of?" I stuttered a bit, but I think I got the hang if it now.

"Well, he's the egocentric King." I tilted my head. Egocentric?

"Ego...Centric King-"

"He called King by commoners like us. His name is Kageyama Tobio." Tsukishima-kun emphasized on the commoners, but I could tell he was enjoying himself... I think. "Kageyama Tobio," I started, "I'll do my upmost best to respect him, Tsukishima-kun!"

Kageyama... Why do I feel like I've heard that name before?

I smiled, giving off a 'happy feel' to our bland atmosphere.

But seriously, a King in our school? Who would've thought so many people looked up to a student?

"Yeah, you do that." He smirked, but I couldn't help but feel like there's something off. Yamaguchi-san snickered, before asking Tsukishima-kun if he would like a drink from the vending machine. "Strawberry milk..."

"Yoshida-san, would you like something as well?" Yamaguchi-san asked.

"S-some orange juice... I-If that's okay with you!" I heated up, out of embarrassment, realizing I should have politely disagreed out of respect.

I'll pay him back later.

I stuffed the remaining toast in my mouth, going back to the thoughts I had in my head.

The bell should go off any time now-

"For a girl, you don't really eat like one." Tsukishima-kun coldly insulted, changing the song on his device.

He saw that?!

"Y-You think so...?" I murmured, making Tsukishima-kun surprised, dusting my cheeks slight with a light red. "Yeah, are you on a diet or something? Eating bread and drinking orange juice-?"

"N-No- I just didn't get time in the morni-"

"Sure, sure. I really don't need your pity story." Tsukishima-kun went back to his things before the bell rang.

It's over already?

"Tch."

"W-We should get going... Right T-Tsukishima-kun...?" I picked up my bag and threw my bento box inside.

Tsukishima-kun and I can't hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes... He may just be anti-social.

But, he is friends with Yamaguchi-san and this King Kageyama.

So why can't we get along?

"Tsukki~" Yamaguchi-san called, catching his breath. "Thank god, I thought you might've left to class already."

"We were just about to-"

"Here," Yamaguchi-san handed me an orange juice bottle, ultimately interrupting my sentence.

"O-oh... Thank you." I mumbled quietly.

I haven't had any orange juice since I had moved here.

"Tsukki~ this is yours," Tsukishima-kun took it from Yamaguchi-san, stabbing the milk carton mercilessly. I reached into my pocket, hoping to embrace my wallet, when I couldn't help but just feel my phone. "Huh? That's funny-"

"Yoshida-san, are you looking for something?" Yamaguchi-san asked, puzzled. "It's... Gone," I complained, looking towards the floor, hopelessly. "Did... You drop it in the morning?" It then hit me.

I never did pick it up in the morning.

I sighed in relief. "Th-that's okay. I think I might have left it at home... Yamaguchi-san, I'll definitely pay you back." I stated, timidly. Yamaguchi-san's cheeks heated up, before he smiled and looked away. "You really don't need to worry about it-"

"Oi, if you guys don't hurry up, we will definitely be late." Tsukishima-kun stated before exiting the roof without us. "Y-yeah," I smiled, exiting as well, with Yamaguchi-san.

--

I already know these things; after all, math is my best subject.

I stopped and looked over my right shoulder, to see Yamaguchi-san sleeping in his desk. On my left, Tsukishima-kun was looking out of the classroom window, staring, most probably bored. I stopped playing with my hair, as I took out my book.

My hair is dry already? That's weird...

I untied my hair, leaving it to look extremely wavy, messy even, but shortly after tied it back.

This bang... is annoying me.

I pulled it behind my ear and picked up my pencil, doodling in my notebook that had been given to me by Yamaguchi-san.

"Yoshida-san. Be sure to join a club on your free time, otherwise you'll get into trouble with the advisor." Our teacher pulled me aside and spoke.

The after class bell rang, indication to club activities, and or dismissal, having a herd of students run out the door at once. "Tsukki, its club activities now," Yamaguchi-san stated. "Shut up, Yamaguchi." Tsukishima-kun stood up from his seat, and walked out the door with his friend.

I don't have an activity...

"Um..." I looked the other way. "Do you need something?" Tsukishima-kun threw me back an iced reply. "W-what's club activities? We never had any back at my old school." I made it as short as possible, knowing Tsukishima-kun was bothered by back stories. "S-seriously?" Yamaguchi-san stood shocked, "you could come to ours, then-"

"Yamaguchi, you should know that our club is a boys club." Tsukishima cut him off, leaving Yamaguchi-san flustered. "I-I'll come along anyways... S-since I have nothing better to do..."

With no friends made in the other clubs, I'd be completely alone.

Tsukishima-kun grinned, and opened his mouth to say something. "You're right, you can tag along, since you would pass off as a guy, anyways." My eyes trailed to the earth grounds, and my face heated up.

What's that suppose to mean?
