Act 19; You started it.

What had she felt? Broken, lost? All because of an incident she promised she would never speak about. All because she wanted a friend. Sure, it was her fault-

Her nationality and her overly-sincere personality were too much to handle. And so, everyone would take advantage of it. She had hoped she had changed, even if it were the slightest, or if it had been in the wrong direction of the path she had followed. And she did what she wished.

Her compassionate behavior hadn't changed a bit, but to herself, she had thought she had become tougher, all because of two oddly specific people, both unique in two opposite ways. One had looked down on her, surely because she framed a useless image in his eyes. Another was just as sweet as she was, and reminded her of her old self. And surprisingly, she liked it.

Three friends, all aspiring to become like one another. And who knows what type of knot had tied them oh-so closely together.

Or whether or not, one of them would untie it.

Ren placed her hand on Yamaguchi's palm to hold herself up. Respectfully, she would have politely done it on her own. But she had known it would end up with her collapsing over once again, and getting laughed at some more. "Th-thank you..." The dark-haired male gave a sweet smile, as his cheeks burned up, "n-no problem, Yoshida-san." He surely felt something beat from the depths of his chest, but ignored every single possible fact that may have aroused.

"I'm sure Tsukki never meant it." She clicked her tongue as she swept off the traces of dirt on her uniform. "That guy, Oh- I'm not worried..." Ren gave a menacing look at the amused blonde, with a glare that could kill. "I'm sure he didn't. Why would he do that?"

Yamaguchi stepped back, as he felt the murderous aura that lurked from behind her. "A-ah, I have to get back to Mokoto-san. He shouldn't do all the work himself.-" She nodded, as she sat back down in the seat next to her partner, squinted eyes now. "Geez, I don't mind if you think I'm attractive, but by all means, stop staring at me like that." She gave out a dark chuckle, shocking the student beside her. "Like I'd ever look at you like that, you damn mutated beanpole."

Tsukishima gave out a small snicker, "getting dramatic, now aren't we." Without hesitation, Ren pulled her chair towards her desk, and twirled her mechanical pencil around her middle and index fingers. "Yeah right, Bakashima." He hissed at the sudden nickname, scrunching his nose up as well, "tch, don't call me that, Green Yoshi." She gasped slightly, and that was exactly what the megane had wanted.

Besides his obsession with dinosaurs, and how much he liked that character, it wouldn't hurt if he had turned the tables around to the people who had a disliking for it. "Oi- Don't call me that."

"You started it." Ren gave a rigid huff, crossing her arms, and sneering at her classmate, "f-fine, Tsukishima-kun. I won't call you anymore names..." The beanpole gave a smirk, obviously faking a smile again, and it didn't take a while for the 14 year old to notice. "Whatever. Do what you like, Yoshida." A small thump was heard through her head, and she hadn't known what it was.

Why did all of a sudden, she stopped being angry with him? Why did she calm down? A few word escaped her lips, gently. And Ren hadn't meant it to be said, rather than be a thought. "When did you start calling me Yoshida?"

The blonde shrugged his shoulders, and went back to writing his notes on chemistry. "So... Is it alright if I call you Tsu-Tsukishima...?" He sighed and placed his pencils back in their case. She thought she had angered him, but to her fortune, he gave her the same bland look as always. "No."

Tsukishima gave a snicker or two, making Ren pop a vein.

Jerkishima.

"Okay class, time to start presenting!" Ren turned her head to the teacher, who had a grin plastered across her face. The girl looked to Tsukishima, who had his normal, plain face on, handing her a script. "First up is Yamaguchi-san and Mokoto-san." The room could tell that the teacher was filled with glee, looking forward to the presentations since this was a college preparation class.

And the one the teacher had looked forward to the most was Tsukishima's and Ren's.

Ren would occasionally ask the blonde about the few things she needed to know before a test, and he would always turn her down. Until she begged him, making him answer her questions in disgust. That was the only reason she passed, and got decent grades. What could she do? She hated science.

"You need to fill out your priority plan, Yoshida-san," Yamaguchi said out of concern, handing back her sheet of paper. She sheepishly patted her neck. "I don't know, Yamaguchi-san... Thinking about the future makes me... nervous..." The dark haired male sighed in defeat, since this was probably the fifth time he had asked, and she would make up the same excuse, but in a different way-

"Next is Yoshida-san and Tsukishima-kun!" Ren stood up out of her seat, taking a deep breath.

I can do this.

She repeated the words in her head, although it was a short line. She had been one of the most awkward people to walk the earth, and had the biggest anxieties over the smallest of things. It started it off pretty well, since they got one of the fun subjects to work on. "And with that said, mixing H2O and Au, you will get a substance none other than..." Ren dozed off, since the monotone in Tsukishima's voice, practically bored her to death.

Oh! It's my turn!

'Rusting metal is considered a chemical reaction, and not a physical state, for example of another one, tarnishing silver.'

She mentally prepared herself, knowing that she had been up soon. Ren actually felt... confidence in something. Most probably since it had been Tsukishima's work, and he was almost never wrong. "Rusting meta-"

"Rusting metal is considered a chemical reaction as well," She looked to her left, giving the megane the most confused look a human could give. Was he stealing her lines? "It's not considered a physical sta-"

"It's not considered a physical state, since it doesn't include one of the five senses." Ren cut him off, making Tsukishima eye her down, and the class stare shocked.

I know what you're up to, Bakashima-kun. Trying to take all the credit?

"Another example of a chemical reaction is tarnishing silver." She grinned evilly, not this time. Ren had known her lines were done, and she planned on taking her revenge and saying his lines. "Melting gold is an example of-"

"Melting gold is an example of a physical state, since you can-"

"Since you can cool it down returning it to-"

"Returning it to its proper-"

"Proper state, and back to gold." They glared daggers at each other, both wanting to get high marks on the project and finish up with it. "Uh- Well... You two can sit down now." They looked towards the instructor, "but we haven't finished yet-" They choired together, stopping when they realized.

"I-I think we've seen enough..." Ren pouted, and sat back down, as Tsukishima gave a small click of the tongue, and took a seat as well. "This is your fault." She swiftly looked at him annoyed. "Excuse me? You started it."

He looked away, ignoring her like a child. "You're excused." Yamaguchi looked at the two hopelessly, as he face palmed. Well, he did benefit from this. He can now say he beat Tsukki in a project.

--

"Hey, Kageyama!" The black haired male sighed as he approached the energetic ginger. "What do you want?" Hinata then held up a notebook, which seemed rather old, but had been used recently. He could tell that much.

"I found this on the floor in the hallway, but it says Ren Yoshida." Kageyama face palmed, "then it's obviously Yoshida's." The shorter of the two grinned, as he investigated it. "Oi, don't touch it! We don't know what's in it."

"Don't know what?" A certain blonde entered with Yamaguchi, as the stepped back a few steps. "Nothing, Yoshida-kun dropped this, I'll need to return it to her though."

"Hey, isn't this..?"

"Oh, that's her volleyball notes." Tsukishima added on his friends comment. But little did they know, that wasn't related to volleyball at all. Hinata gasped excitedly, as he hopped around Kageyama. "Can we open it? Can we, can we, can we?!"

The raven haired male knew it was wrong, but he too, was curious about the book, and what was in it. Well, he took the beanpoles' word on it, what could possibly go wrong? The first page consisted with her name, written all around it, and a note to the one reading it. If found, please give to Ren Yoshida.

Oh! And do NOT go past this page. I repeat.

"Should we really open it?" Yamaguchi cowardly asked, playing with the bag across his body. "I mean- if she wrote that, we would need permission from her, correct?" The beanpole fixed his glasses, "but since it's just tactics, it should be fine, whether or not we need permission." Yamaguchi and Kageyama gave each other a slight look, nodding hesitantly as they flipped the page.

"What... is this?" Hinata asked, as he puffed out his cheeks.

First years

Shoyou Hinata;

Likes; Volleyball, Salonpas,

Position; Wing spiker, although plays middle blocker

Gets intrigued when talks about the 'Little Giant' or Volleyball in general.

Boosts morale when; Kageyama gives a speech, or tells him he will toss to him.

Possible nicknames; Hina-chan, Sho-chan (when closer...maybe)

"What does is say?" The raven haired male and Hinata inspected further, but couldn't understand, or read English. Tsukishima could, to Ren's dismay, and Yamaguchi could somewhat. They turned the page to see a profile, exactly for Kageyama.

Boosts morale when;

"Oh, it's blank..." Yamaguchi stared blankly, as he thought if there had been one for himself. He didn't know why he was so concerned, but he wanted to at least know that Ren had been trying hard to be friends with them as well. "What is?" The setter asked, taking a small sip from his yogurt drink.

"What boosts your morale?" Tsukishima questioned, waiting for an answer he could mess around with. Kageyama gave a slight glare, before placing his hand on his chin, thinking about the question, no matter how weird it had been, "pork buns." The blonde's eye twitched and Yamaguchi had bursted into a slight laughter.

"Alright, alright," he took out a pen, and wrote down the raven setters answer, in his horrible English handwriting. Surely, it hadn't been as great as Yoshida's, but then again, her handwritten work in any language wasn't the best either. "What are you doing, Yamaguchi?" Tsukishima blandly said, in his usual monotone voice. "Filling in the blanks... Oh, there's one for you, Tsukki."

And with that stated, the page was turned.
