Act 17; Thank you, Kei-chan!

"Quick, Yamaguchi. What would her password be?" The middle blocker then panicked, ruffling his hair back and forth. "Um... I don't know! Try anything!" Seeing his best friend hassled, Tsukishima also felt stressed. "H-Here- you guess." He stated, pushing the phone into the freckled boy's hands.

"Eh?! No, Tsukki!" He pushed it away, back in Tsukishima's hands. They continued pushing it into each other's grasps, until it eventually hit the blonde's hands, and dropped onto the floor. "Yoshida-san is going to kill us!" Tsukishima's eyes widened, as he quickly picked it up. "Don't remind me."

"Ah! What do we do now?! Check if it still works!" The middle blocker then turned it on swiftly, to see nothing has changed. They both sighed in relief, as Yamaguchi noticed that the back case has broken. "Ts-Tsukki, the back-!" Tsukishima turned the phone, causing the case to fall off and shatter on the floor.

Yamaguchi stood there speechless, as well as his taller friend. "We're so dead, Tsukki." The blonde nodded, as he noticed a couple of numbers on the back of her phone, a few seconds later. "Could this be... an address?" Yamaguchi investigated it closer, as he shook his head up and down quickly. "It has to be someone's."

"Then this will do." Yamaguchi helped the unconscious girl onto his friends back, as he looked outside, knowing his mom would worry. "Let's quickly get there; it shouldn't be too far, since Yoshida-san walks here."

And let's hurry up before we get reported.

--

They looked up the long flight of stairs, as the blonde megane sighed tiredly. "It's alright if we switch now, I don't mind carrying her." But he was rejected, almost the 4th time now, with the same "I can handle it." Yamaguchi shivered coldly, since being wet in such weather was bad for him. As well as his awkwardly tall best friend.

They knew they'd catch a cold for sure.

Step by step, he walked up slowly, since he was freezing, and tired at the same time. Yamaguchi as well, knowing he was carrying something's that could weigh as much as a person, Ren would be definitely heavier. "Which..." Tsukishima caught his breath, "one was it?" Yamaguchi panted as well, shivering, "2-0-...7"

They rang the doorbell, only to be ignored by anyone that have may or may not be in there. "Does this girl not have parents? Siblings even?!" Tsukishima raised his voice, a little agitated by the entire scenario. They knocked a couple of times, before Yamaguchi sighed hopelessly. "What do we do now... gosh?"

He questioned, as he rested himself on the door. Coincidentally, he placed his arm on the knob, turning it as it slipped off. "It's... open." Yamaguchi breathed relieved, "we're coming in!" Tsukishima's eye twitched, and he had to say, trying to see beneath these water filled glasses wasn't easy.

Is she stupid? Who leaves their door open?

They walked into a dark room, as the freckled first year dropped their bags, and searched for the light switch. "Is anyone home?" He shouted out, as he took off his shoes, before taking hold of Ren, so his taller classmate could do the same. "Maybe Yoshida-san lives alone..." Tsukishima sighed, as he warmed his hands up with his breath, "you think?"

Yamaguchi followed, as they carried the girl through the apartment. "Geez, for an apartment, it sure is big..." Tsukishima walked further in, to see a living room area with a couch. "Let's put her here." Yamaguchi nodded, as he dropped the girl onto the couch. "Ah, it's so much warmer in here." He stated, shortly before rubbing his hands together.

The tall megane grabbed a blanket, and threw it atop of Ren, who turned to her side, sleeping. The two, who were still wet, made sure that they weren't feeling odd in any way. To their fortune, they felt fine. "I'm going to tell my mom that I'll be late. You should too, Tsukki." Yamaguchi said, as he pulled out his device.

From; Yamaguchi ()
To; Mum

I'll be late; I'm at a friend's house right now.

The freckled first year sighed, as he rubbed his head and took a seat on one of the chairs the living room.

From; Mum
To; Yamaguchi (
)

Oh, you're with Kei? Okay, tell me when you're about to leave. Also, be sure not to catch a cold, Tadashi, it's very humid today.

Yamaguchi sighed, as he grabbed his bag and decided to pass time by doing some homework.

If that's possible.

Tsukishima sat on another chair, as he started reading one of the books assigned in literature class. He always enjoyed reading ahead. All of a sudden, they heard ringing, followed by vibrations. Assumingly, Tsukishima took out his phone. Yamaguchi grabbed his as well, before realizing it was coming from Ren's bag.

"I-it's her mom! What do we do, Tsukki?!" The bean pole quickly grabbed and answered it, regretting that he did.

"Ren, I've been texting you for the past hour! What's going on?!" Her mom spoke, with an irritated voice, but surprisingly, in English. "Ah, sorry ma'am, this is one of Yoshida's friends. She surprisingly left it back at Karasuno's gym, so I had myself pick it up. I'll return it to her when we see each other next." Yamaguchi chuckled a bit, since this was one of the rare times, where Tsukki talks in English.

"Oh... Really," she talked as if she held herself back, but surprisingly, she said something I which shocked Tsukishima. "So Ren's made friends..?"

"Yes she has, she's made a lot recently..." He said in an irritated voice, wanting to say no. But under circumstances as such, he had to actually agree being friends with her. "My Ren's growing up! How many does she have? What are their names?" She celebrated excitedly, weirding out the first years.

"Eh- well... The entire team are her friends... Can I get her to call you back? M-My mom needs me."

"Ah, really? Okay then. May I get your name?"

"Tsu-Tsukishima Kei..."

"Thank you, Kei-chan! Bye now."

-Call Disconnected-

He hung up as soon as he could, and Yamaguchi bursted into laughter. "How was it? You sounded like you were terrified!"

"Tch. Shut up, Yamaguchi. It was just... so weird..." The shorter male then wiped a tear, "you totally sounded like you were her boyfriend. I'll return it when we meet next." Tsukishima closed his book, rather suddenly. "I said shut up." Yamaguchi caught his breath, and sighed, "yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Tsukki."

After a few moments, and a couple of yawns later, the freckled first year put back his done homework. "Would you like something, Tsukki?" The blonde shook his head, as the female figure sat up really quickly, startling the two. But due to the sudden head rush, she placed her hand on her head, only to experience the bruise to kick in. "Don't get up, idiot." Tsukishima warned as he placed his hands on her shoulder, putting her back down.

"Wha-? Where... am I..?"

"Don't speak either. How are you feeling?" He asked, as he felt her head with the back of his hand, making her face heat up more. "Why are you burning up? Wait here, I'll grab some medicine."

His hands are so cold.

The blonde haired giraffe scurried to the kitchen, assuming the medicine would be there. Ren took a brief look at her surroundings, before sitting up straight, quickly. "This is my house!" She shouted, making Yamaguchi try and calm her down. "How did I even get here..? The last thing I remember is- I can't even recall..."

"Tsukki and I carried you here... Well, mostly Tsukki." The girl then widened her eyes, as they trailed to Yamaguchi's wet hair. "W-why..." she coughed, interrupting her sentence. "Why are you so wet..?"

My hair is wet as well, but my clothes aren't? I'm also in my uniform, and I didn't have a jacket...

The girl's eyes then trailed to a soaked jacket, folded over and hung on the coat rack. She didn't want to think about it, so she pushed all thoughts away from it.

It can't be his jacket... right?

He sighed, as he ruffled his own hair, "it was raining." Ren then huffed under her breath. "Then you should have left me there. You guys could have-" she hesitated, knowing that the next sentence would sound stupid. "...H-have caught a cold..."

You're the one with a cold, Ren.

"Um, Yoshida-san..." The blocker started, as he averted his gaze. "Sorry about- erm... earlier... I was no help..." The prodigy then smiled, which made the other first year puzzled. "Ah, don't worry, Yamaguchi-san. You were the one who saved me."

He then shook his head, "no... I couldn't do anything... Tsu-Tsukki is the real hero-"

"Yamaguchi-san," Ren started, as she grabbed the hair tie from her wrist and weakly tied it, "you saved me. That's all I need to say." Yamaguchi smiled warmly, as he got up and fixed the pillows behind himself.

Tsukishima-kun is acting so caring right now... It's creeping me out...

"Tsukishima-kun acts like a mom sometimes, right?" The freckled boy then chuckled slightly, after replying. "No, no. Tsukki is only like because he somewhat feels responsible." The 14 year old tilted her head, confused, aside from her dizziness. "Besides, Tsukki's more like a dad."

"Yamaguchi," the bland male called, having him stand up and walk over to him. "Actually, could you grab something to eat from the convenience store? I can't find anything but toast in this damn fridge." The shorter boy nodded, as he put on his shoes, and headed out the door. Tsukishima sighed irritated, as he placed a white bottle on the table. "Explain."

Ren looked at the male, shocked before getting dizzier. How could he find this so easily? Ren was sure, so sure almost, that she placed it in her cupboard. "W-what?" She had to admit, she was a terrible liar. Having said this, he stood up, and pulled on his jacket, "fine. Don't tell me."

The blonde got ready to leave. She had always wanted to tell someone, a secret that even she couldn't endure any longer. But why was it him? And why is it now? She needed the comfort, and she knew that that would only happen if someone would listen to her. Tsukishima was willing to though, and as long as he doesn't tell the rest of the team, that would be enough.

"...A year ago, back in junior high..." she started, causing Tsukishima to spin around to face the female, who had been avoiding any type of eye contact. Sure, he had hated back stories with a burning passion, and patience wasn't his best virtue. But he didn't mind, listening to someone who had saved his best friend. And even that was a big enough deed to get Tsukishima Kei, the world's biggest jerk, to listen to someone that annoyed him almost as much as Hinata Shoyou did.

"I was on the volleyball team, sure, I wasn't the greatest, and I only had the chance to play as pinch server, but I only joined the team because everyone else did. I was desperate. I couldn't overhand my serves well, and asked my coach if she could teach me personally. I was taught how to float serve, and that was one of our team's greatest weapons." The blonde sat down and fixed his glasses up. She couldn't believe it. Someone was actually listening to her.

"I started to fall ill, and my doctor said it was caused by stress. My parents assumed it was from my playing Volleyball, and it was a lie even I believed. So I missed the final's... After that, I stopped going to practices, playing games, and taking part in anything that had to do with it. Eventually, I got kicked off, because I didn't have the courage to quit. I went to the doctors again, and he told me that my stress has gotten worse... and I was prescribed antidepressants...-" Yamaguchi came in through the door, as he placed the grocery bags on the ground.

"Tsukki, can you pass these out?" The blonde nodded, as he got up, "but-!" Tsukishima turned around, but?

"B-But I'm fine now. I stopped taking them. And I guess these are the side effects." The green haired blocker looked at his friend. "What effects?" Ren panicked mentally; maybe this wasn't the greatest time-

"She stopped taking after school classes, since she thought she was smart enough."

"Eh, you went to cram school? No wonder you're so smart!" Ren sighed, as she rubbed the back of her neck. Nice save, Bakashima.
