Lesson One

LESSON ONE :
["I keep thinking theses days"]:

TARGET: 00422950

The deep rumblings and bright flashes of light filled the atmosphere around me. The cold rain coming from the clouds above me soaking through my clothing and hair.

I focused.

My arm straight. Shoulder high and elbow right where it should be. With a breath in I let the arrow go. The string slung back in place as the spear moved straight into the bullseye. The sound of it going through the tree bark echoed all around me.

I've always been better in the rain. The phone beside me buzzed. Making me quickly pick it up surprised it still worked. When I saw who the call was coming from I booked it out of the park and in direction of my home. The thunder and lightning seeming to tease me already seeing the future nagging I was going to get.

Once I front of my house I threw the equipment I had been using in a nearby bush just in time as the door opened. I gaped at my fathers tall figure as he stared my down.

"And where have you been? " He asked his voice deeper then usual. I gulped quickly making up an excuse.

"The usually way I come home from school got flooded so I had to go back to school and take the long way. " I catched my breath as it seemed he didn't catch my lie. As I entered the house my brother was sitting in the living room playing video games while I could see my mother in the kitchen with an apron.

She turned around from her place stirring the pot that looked and smelled like soup just as I sat my book bag down on the table. "So, how was the walk home." She winked actually knowing where I had been all this time.

"Good, I guess. I mean I did get soaked head to toe which can be continued as a con." She lowered the temperature on the stove before sitting down on the table ready to peel an orange for herself.

"Take the book bag into the laundry room and take a warm shower child! You're going to catch a cold! " She nagged me as I only nodded with a playful eye roll.

"Yes ma'am." I did as told and before I knew it the hot water was running down the faucet filling up my tub for a bath.

"Baths are always the best place for relaxing and thinking. " I sighed out loud as my whole body made contact with the hot bubbly water. Thinking.
Thinking of things like what I'm going to do tomorrow? What am I eating for lunch? Is it called sand because it's between the land and sea?

You know things like that but there are times the thoughts have more meaning to them. Like my current one is "What am I going to do in the future? "

What my father wants me to do is go to college become a doctor or maybe even a lawyer. What I want to do is completely different. It's not a promising future but it's what I want to do, which is ARCHERY. It's what I, no, my heart wants to do. Cheesy, I know.

But I can't. My dad has never let me play sports same with my younger brother. It's something that if talked in front of my father you would be in his black book forever.

My mom on the other hand is super supportive. She knows what I want and she believes in me. She always tells me that I'll do something big. I hope she's right because I don't want to disappoint.

That's all I could think of after dinner as I slipped into my bed ready for slumber.

-

The sound of an annoying motor is all I could hear. When I finally couldn't stand it anymore I woke up and looked out the window to see my dad cutting the grass. The sun was out and shining as if last night a category five hurricane didn't just pass through. I pulled the covers off and just as my feet were about to touch the floor I heard it.

The words made my heart drop. Cold sweat started dripping onto my forehead.

"When did this bush grow again! I could have sworn I just cut it like three weeks ago! "

I can't be that bush could it. Before I could think of any other bushes around our house I hopped back to look through the window and my eyes widened in horror. There came a furious looking man with a bow in direction of the front door. I ran out my room just as he entered.

My brother was sprawled on the couch sleeping while my mom was drinking tea, was at least, when she heard the slam of the door she looked up startled and my brother even fell off the couch.

"Can someone explain what the hell this thing is! " Not one of us gave an answer.

"Who the hell is doing this mockery sport in my house!? " His voice boomed all over the house that even our cat ran for the hills. My father looked around at the three faces in front of him examining each one before stopping at mine.

"You! What have I told you! " I stayed quiet and looked down knowing that I had been caught. He kept on ranting until my mom decided to intervene.

"Calm down honey. " She spoke softly. He snapped his head in her direction before throwing the bow almost hitting her and that's when I lost it.

"The hell is wrong with you! " Everyone got quiet and looked at me shocked for a second but my fathers face didn't stay like that even for a mere second. "Who do you think you are talking too like that! "

"I'm talking to a self absorbed man that has no feelings even for his own family! Why can't you let me do what I want! Huh!? Answer the fucking question! " He looked like the devil in person as he turned fully to me.

"How DARE you talk to me like that! "

"I just fucking did what are you going to do about it! I'm so sick of all this shit!"

"You dare say those words! Get out my house! " I stood for a moment not believing what I just heard, but I quickly recovered. I walked back to my room hearing more yelling outside but choosing to ignore it. When I was done packing I made my way to the leaving room once again surprised to see both my brother and mother holding their belongings.

"Come on sweet heart your uncle is coming to pick us up. "

-

I sighed. I haven't seen my Father in so long. I drank the bitter drink in my hand once more while rethinking the memory. After the accident. We went to grandma's place. They also enrolled me in a SAA, Special Archery Academy, which is how I started my dream. I started entering competitions and ended up winning quite a good amount of money enough to buy a luxury home enough for my mother and brother.

"OMG! Is it really the Kang WonIl!" I turned at the sound of my name to see a girl about two or three years older then me holding a notepad. I gave a smile.

"Can you please sign this!" She yelled extremely excited. I complede and she fangirled away.

"Must be hard being a gold medalist always being surrounded by fans" I heard a deep chuckle come from infront of me. I looked up at the bartender that wasn't there before. He had a cute smile and handsome build that's for sure.

"Heh, I guess. " I stirred my drink a bit before gulping the rest of it down.

"What are you doing here aren't you suppose to be celebrating your big win as a gold medalist in the Olympics! " He gushed and I just nodded looking down. He quieted down but kept moving in the corner of my eye.

"Here," He slid a cup to me, "on the house. " I looked at him weirdly but drank it anyway. I mean he's the bartender he can't drug it it's his job. The sweet taste felt nice as I gulped it down all at once.

I slammed the cup down with a slight bang as I felt a bit wobbly.

"You should know that the sweetest drinks are the ones that get you drunk the fastest. " I nodded.

"Can you call a cab please." I heard a hum after a while he was helping me walk out. He opened the door and sat me in, but what really surprised me is that he got in the car too.

"Hey hyung how was the job did you get any tips? " The man beside me smacked the drivers head.

"Hurry up and drive dumbnut. " He nodded while whining and kept driving.

"Where are you taking me~" It came out slurred my hair filled my vision as the driver dude hit the breaks. I could hear him cussing at someone before the car started moving again.

"Oh let me help with that. " The dude beside me moved the hair out of my vision and he was really close. When I noticed what he had done all I could say was...

"TOUCH ME AND YOU'LL LOSE THE WHOLE HAND! "
