Chapter 21- Fun with Trevor
"The reaction you have on your face, is basically the same as what I had on mine when he told me about the affair, not to mention I thought I was going to throw up."
"There's no possible way, he would ever betray my mother." he said in disbelief.
She placed her hand on the door handle and looked away from him "Well, believe it, because it's true..." she says as she opened the door. She slammed the door shut, ran into the house, and up the stairs to the bedroom. She sat on the bed, covered her face with her hands, and cried. She didn't know if she should be upset with Alaric, hate him, or just ignore what she was told by Frederick. She felt it was his father's fault for her mother's death, and where she is at now.
Alaric walked into the room, and stood against the wall, debating on asking her his next question "So, if what you're saying is true, that means we're related?"
She shook her head slowly "No, we're not related, but we could have been."
He felt relieved, yet frustrated and rubbed his face hard. He couldn't believe his father would ever cheat on his mother, and wondered when he had the time to do anything like that, then thought about the times he was with him when they were over at her home. "Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure!" she snapped "He mentioned that this entire time he thought I was his daughter, up until recently, claiming he knows who my father is, but refuses to say who it is in respect to my father, who would like to be the one to explain to me about who he really is..." She had to stop talking, and take a breather, still trying to remember everything that Frederick said to her, then looked at Alaric with sadness in her eyes. "Which I have a hard time believing you had no clue they were having an affair, you were there with him multiple times, and you never saw anything?"
He pushed away from the wall and walked over to her, sitting down on the bed next to her, he placed his hand on her thigh and sighed "Layla, I had no fucking clue my father, and your mother were having an affair. Hearing you tell me this, pisses me the fuck off. By him hiding this from me, could have been bad... very, very bad."
She laughed a mocking laugh "You're telling me... I had so much anger building up inside me, that I was ready to place a spell on him, until he stopped me, telling me that I better not even try to do anything to him. These last few months have been nothing but horrible, the more I learn about myself, who I am, what I am, and who my family is, the more I'm hating my life." she says as she wiped some tears away from her eyes.
"Don't say that..."
"Why not?"
"Because... by you saying that, you're saying that you hate us."
"I don't hate us, you're the only thing that makes me want to keep going. I'm just hating everything else."
"What else was said?"
She sighed, groaned, and leaned back onto the bed "That my father has a big heart, and that if he had found out years ago that my father was sleeping with my mother, he would have killed him, but is happy to know that he is my father."
He turned his body and looked at her, then hovered over her and looked in her eyes "I'm telling you I had no clue, had I known, you and I wouldn't be together." He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers "I say we kick some ass, and get rid of Trevor once and for all."
She smiled "Just wait, I want to torture him some more. After talking with your father and finding out what he and his family did to my mother, I'm going to make him go through what she went through."
He stood up, helped her off the bed, and pulled her close to him giving her a passionate kiss "Just know, that I'm not letting anything or anyone get between us, you're my girl." he said lovingly, with a smile.
"Let's go have some fun with Trevor." she smiled.
They walked down to see Trevor, as she approached the room she placed her hands on the bars and looked through, happy to see that he wasn't able to break through the chains again. She opened the door and walked over to him with her arms crossed. She knew he couldn't say anything and began to smile "So, your family's plan was to take me from my family, make me your wife, and turn me into one of you. No wonder you kept trying to make me your girlfriend, you had plans. Your plan was in hopes that I would never know who I was."
Trevor looked at her, and furrowed his eyebrows. He wanted nothing more than to break free, and kill Alaric. He never thought Alaric would ever show his face in Crowburg again, and thought he had everything under his control.
"What's the matter Trevor, cat got your tongue?" Alaric laughed.
Trevor fought with the chains, trying to lunge at Alaric, but was stopped by Layla. She stared him down, and made his skin start to boil, as his skin bubbled, they popped and puss started to flow. They could hear him trying to scream in pain, both getting a kick out of seeing him hurting.
She then started making him feel as if there was a noose around his neck, he felt himself unable to breath as it tightened around him, causing his body to tremble and shake.
Layla laughed, got in his face and smiled "That's exactly what my mom went through, now you're going to feel the same pain as she had." Her eyes glowed white as she looked at Trevor, causing him to widen his eyes, and feel as if he was about to panic.
After torturing Trevor a little longer, Layla had enough and was starting to feel weak. She used a little too much of her energy and needed to feed. She looked at Trevor, placed a spell on him causing him to sleep, making sure to give him torturing nightmares that he could feel, and had him wishing he never did what he had done.
There was a fair going on in town, and knowing there would be plenty of humans to chose from, they decided to head over there. Once they arrived, she could smell the blood all around her and was becoming extremely thirsty yet again. They walked around the fair hand in hand, looking at all their choices. She turned her head and spotted a couple heading to an area where there was no one near. Seeing that it was dark, secluded, and away from everyone she pulled on Alaric's hand and headed over to the couple.
They quietly snuck up on the couple making out against a building, scaring them as they approached. "Good evening!" she said with a smile "What are you two doing over here, this area is off limits." she said to them, trying to refrain from giggling after seeing them both look like deer in headlights as they looked at them.
"We're just having some alone time." the younger man says as he stuttered.
Layla giggled, as she walked closer to him, her eyes turned red, causing the man to gasp. "What the hell is going on?" he asked, sounding scared.
Layla relaxed the couple, then placed her hand on his face "Just relax, this won't hurt a bit." she said quietly as she pulled him down to her level and bit into his neck. Alaric needed some himself and walked behind the girl. He brushed her hair to the side, softly caressing her neck as he looked at where he was going to sink his teeth into.
While they were feeding, a group of people happened to stumble across them, witnessed what they were doing, and ran over to them. "Is everything all right over here?" One of the men asked.
Both looked at them with blood still covering their mouths, and their eyes red as can be, causing them to scream and run. Layla aimed her fingers at them, spoke a few words and froze them in the positions they were in. She raised her hands and lifted the group into the air, flying them over to her.
"Layla, you better hurry before someone else sees us." Alaric said, as he looked around.
They walked the bodies around the corner, had their feast, then walked around the fair. They walked past the games, Layla grabbed Alaric's hand, and pulled him close to her. "You should try winning that big teddy bear over there." she said with excitement, and batting her eyes at him.
He chuckled, and smiled "Are you going to play fair, or are you going to cheat and make me win it for you anyway?"
"I wouldn't do that!"
He looked at her, giving her an unsure look "I'll only do it if you promise to play fair."
She smiled "I promise." she winked.
"I mean it."
"Gooo." she giggled, as she pushed him over to the ring toss.
Alaric gave the gal money, and got his rings to toss. He knew he could easily make the ring land onto the bottle, but wanted to test her. He began throwing the rings, purposely missing the bottles, and chuckled when she kept urging him to try harder.
His last ring, he threw and missed, disappointing Layla "Alaric please, try again." she begged.
He gave the girl more money and began tossing the rings having fun with her. He purposely missed the bottles again until the last ring, as he was about to toss the ring, he felt her doing a spell and stopped before tossing. "I told you not to do that now take that spell off me. Trust me I can do this..."
She sighed, and looked away "Fine..."
"I'll get it, just watch."
She crossed her arms with a sad look and watched him toss the ring, when it made it around the bottle he was aiming for, she jumped up and down with a smile, hugging him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
He laughed, shook his head, and pointed to the bear she wanted "She wants that one." he said to the lady, grinning ear to ear.
The lady pulled the bear down, and handed it to Layla "Congratulations."
Alaric couldn't help but laugh seeing her walk around with the bear in her arms, she had a smile on her face that he hadn't seen in a while and figured he better confess to her.
She giggled and looked over at him "You need to learn how to keep me from reading your mind."
"Why, what am I thinking right now?"
"You were messing with me, you knew you could make that shot."
"Maybe." he grinned, nudging her as they walked. "I had to test you, I wanted to see if you were going to cheat, just so you could have that bear."
"Maybe you cheated."
He laughed "No, I didn't cheat. I've been playing that toss game for years, and figured out how to master it... there's a trick to it."
"Let's go on some rides, I haven't been on any in a long time and I could use a little thrill."
"Haven't you been getting enough thrill lately?" he asked, chuckling.
"Not the fun kind of thrill, come on." She pulled him to the ticket booth, grabbed their tickets and headed for the rides.
As they stood in line to get on the ferris wheel, Layla could feel someone watching them and turned around to see who was around them, scanning each person behind them.
"What's wrong?" Alaric asked, as he looked in the direction she was facing, trying to see what she was looking at.
"They're here, I can feel them watching us, but I don't see them."
"Next..." they both hear.
"Come on, you'll be able to spot them on the ride." He placed his hand on the small of her back and walked her to the ride. As they handed the worker their tickets they got on the ride, both on the lookout.
After the ride started moving, she felt a strong presence, like they were next to her. She looked down, then up and closed her eyes, telling Alaric through his mind they were in the seat above them.
He looked up, held her hand and smiled as he looked at her. He brought her hand up to his lips, kissing the top of her hand "We've got this."
After they got off the ride, they stepped to the side, watched who got off after them, and began following them.
The treachers knew they were being followed, which was their plan and smiled at each other as they walked them to where the others were waiting.
"They know were following them." she whispered. "They're bringing us to the others."
As they got to the wooded area, Layla prepared herself. "They're surrounding us." She spoke into his mind, and stood back to back walking around in a circle. "Come out and show your ugly faces!" Layla yelled.
They heard laughing around them and once they showed their faces, Layla began speaking her words to them, Alaric's fangs came out getting himself ready to fight.
They all began running towards them, and Layla raised her hands and began spinning in a circle, sending jolts of electricity through them, causing them to stop and fall to the ground.
One treacher stayed behind watching the others get tortured by Layla, waiting for the right time to approach them. Layla kept the electricity going through the treachers while Alaric and Layla killed them.
Once finished, she looked around, she could feel another one and hit Alaric in the arm. "There's another one."
"I figured so, they always keep the stronger one behind, and send out their weaklings first."
"If you don't let Trevor go, you both will find yourselves dead... we've got one a lot smarter than you Layla, you won't even know who it is." A voice yelled out.
"You don't frighten me..." she yelled back, then laughed "Look who the scared one is, you can't even show your ugly no good face, you fucking coward."
Alaric placed his hand on her shoulder and leaned into her ear "I wouldn't get him pissed."
She furrowed her eyebrows at him, surprised he told her to knock it off and pushed him "Why not? I can handle the fucking loser. I'm done playing their games."
Just as she turned around, the treacher lunged at them holding out a knife. "Show me what you got, and I'll show you what you won't be able to handle"
She laughed, and laughed even harder as she watched him play with the knife "Are you being serious right now?"
