Have you seen the elf door
Low there on the floor?
It's really quite surprising
It's not been seen before.

But now it's neatly set there
Right down near the floor.
And there's an elf that lives there
Of that I am quite sure.

The little elf that lives there
Won't venture out abroad.
But keeps a careful ear out
To know what has occurred.

He'll take it back to Santa
Who'll write it on his board
And keep a careful record
Of that I am assured.

If children aren't behaving
Quite the way they should
They're sent to make a visit
To that small door of wood.

So be on best behaviour
As all good children should
And don't annoy your neighbour
Behind the door of wood.
