Time for resolution
Big year coming round
Don't too often make em
Find the time's just flown.

This year has to be different
Good time for taking stock
Soon I'll be retiring
It's a year to make my own.

Needn't be where they tell me
Needn't do what they say
No one leaning on me
No one I have to obey.

You're never too old for playing
You just get old if you don't
Some like to lounge on the sofa
You can bet your life I won't!

Don't want grandad slippers
Bring my running shoes
Looking for age group records
That's the life I choose.

Bit more time spent writing
Hopefully get in print.
Bit more application
Do a daily stint.

Pack a bag go travelling
Heading for the states.
Take me to the USA
Not been, it's not too late.

More time outdoors growing
Not sat in on my bum
Growing veg for table
Spade in the soil more fun.

See more of the grandkids
More getting out and about
Try to be more useful
Chuck a few bits out.

Generally more helpful
Annoy my wife bit less!
Better when out shopping.
Try to make less mess.

It's a blank sheet of paper
Make of it what you will
Failed before too often
But optimistic still.
