Chapter 1: Another day

Hi I'm Marissa Neutron. I'm sixteen, I go to Springbrooks highschool. Today was another avarage day in hell. I was on my way to class, when I passed by Carl. "Hey Marissa," he said with his hand wrapped around another girl. "Hi, um who is this." I said motioning to the girl. "This is Lesli, my girlfriend." he said. I grabbed Carl by the arm. "What the heck was that about, I thought we were together." I said so close to losing my mind. "Well we were but not anymore." he said and walked off. I started walking by and I didn't care if I was being rude. "Hey! Marissa, it's okay it's his loss." I could feel tears well up in my eyes. "Well she's better than me so he has a great reason," I said. "Okay you know what? Stop crying about this its so irritating for the rest of us, you have to live life to the fullest and get over the bad things and celebrate the good." said my best friend Tiffany. The rest of the day I had hold of myself. When I got home I ate and went to go study. This was so hard, even with a tutor. I kept on mixing up letters and my dyslexia seemed to worsen. I don't think I can pass my test. When my tutor left I stood outside for a little bit with my bare feet touching the ground. It felt nice to be outside, I felt more energetic since I had no worries just. . . a break.

The next day
I woke up and went to go do my hair. I went and got my breakfast. "Good morning." my dad said as I walked in the kitchen. I was the first one in the classroom. "Okay class get in test-mode and I'll come around to get your phones." Mrs. Brooks announced when the whole class arrived. When she passed by my desk she said "Miss Neutron I hope you understand that this is serious and that you take your time."
Half way through the test I asked to go to the bathroom. On my way back I ran into an old lady. "Oh god, I'm so sorry." I said. Except when I looked up she wasn't human. She had wings and looked like a human mixed with a bat and it had yellow fangs. I stayed still and closed my eyes and opened them but it was still there. I knew in that slit second that I had to run. But I knew that this thing would catch up, especially since I would have my back un-guarded. I started backing up, luckily the plumbers came and they were having their break so they left some pipes. I knelt down on one knee and grabbed it with one hand. It came swooping down and I hit it with the pipe as if I were in a baseball game and it was the ball. I crawled towards it and I examined it. Yeah, yeah I should have runned, but what would that change? I stood over it and then its hands shot up. They grabbed me and the pipe fell. Today was the best day of my life! *hint* I was being carried away and I tried my best to free myself but the grip was too strong. I kicked, and wiggled, I even tried to bite it but no such luck all I got was a disgusting taste in my mouth. We were about twenty feet in the air and I was getting tired. I kept on moving and I was actually going somewhere, the thing was that if I filled my intentions then I would fall. Better than being eaten alive! I kept on moving and my clothes started to rip and I was getting free from its claws. Then a blur of light went by and disintegrated the creature. I fell and I could feel my ankle twist in an unnatural way. I let out a scream. Then a blonde girl around my age came up to retrieve her weapon, it was a dagger. She came and examined my ankle. Eww my ankle had like a bubble on its side that was starting to bruise. "Woah, first tell me your name." I said.
"Fine, my name is Annabeth Chase. I'm here to help you, only if you let me." I nodded and then she grabbed my ankle gently and rolled it up with some thing that I've seen other kids wear when they break/ twist something. She helped me up and she whistled, loud. A cab appeared and she went to the front. I heard some murmuring but I couldn't make out what they were saying. She got me inside and then after an announcement we put on seatbelts-er...chains. One of the ladies turned around and I saw that she only had one tooth and no eyes, at all. I looked at her wide eyed, then I turned to Annabeth with a questioning look. The way she looked was so professional, she has that look in her eyes that says genius or mad scientist. She reminded me of my dad. Dad! "Hey, Annabeth do you have a phone, I need to call my dad!" I said. "Nope, phones attract things like what you just saw." she said. The car stopped so fast that I sort of went face first in the back of the driver's seat. I got out and I was greeted by the sweet smell of flowers and fruit. We walked by a sign. I stepped past the pine tree and saw a black haired boy with cute sea green eyes run up to us and he hugged/ carried Annabeth. I guess they were a couple, I suddenly felt sad but just as fast as I got sad I pushed it away.
"Hello, I'm Percy welcome to Camp Half-Blood!" he said with his arm around her waist. "Oh, before I forget." Annabeth then helped me to a room. She said it is called the infirmary. Just then a man came up to me. "Hello Marissa." he said. "How do you know my name?" I said. "Well we were all informed about you. Don't worry we called your father and he knows where you are."
"When am I going home?" I said, even if half of me wanted to stay.
"Well your father said he wants you to be a year rounder because that's what's safe for you and your family." he replied. "Oh" was all that I could manage. "Now please get some rest, tomorrow we will discuss this." and with that he rolled away.
