i envy those who had a childhood

those who never feared bad things would happen to them at a young age

those who didn't have a parent who drank and did drugs in front of them when they were just learning how to spell their name

those who loved bath time instead of worrying they would get touched in places that nobody should ever touch until they're older

those who never bled and hurt from down there when they were too little to understand why

i envy those who didn't experience a childhood filled with pain and fear

but im also grateful they never had to go through terrible things at an early age
