Holy guacamole that was a pain to write. Sorry to all of those history teachers out there that noticed the (at least) six things historically wrong with that Revolutionary War story.

1. There were no presidents in the Revolutionary War.

2. "Uptight" sure wasn't used then either.

3. President Lincoln wasn't alive yet. If any president, it would have been Washington, but his title would be General at the time.

4. No nuclear weapons either. (Welcome to the time that the worst weapon you should fear is a single bullet gun that takes a long time to reload or a cannonball that takes even longer.)

5. Cavemen are a thing of the past. Even for the Patriots and Redcoats. I know, so unbelievable, but it's true.

6. If you thought the movie Frozen was from then, I suggest you get mental help. Just saying...

I've literally thrown my phone when I see people not doing even five minutes of research. This one more applies to fanfics with real people or real events in them. As a history nut myself, I loathe when people get something big wrong. Now small things like the shirt someone wore on a certain day is fine, but if someone from the Viking era starts talking all valley girl like, that gets on my nerves.

Here are some of the things I remember seeing somewhere. (Sorry if this is your book, I'm not trying to make people hate you.)

• David Bowie having a kid with the real last name of Bowie. His real name was David "Davy" Jones, but I believe he changed it to not be connected with the Monkees. So his children would most likely have the last name of Jones, though I have no idea since Wikipedia is telling me that his first wife's last name was Bowie.

• John Lennon meeting Cynthia way after they had become famous, added Ringo to the group, etc. John had met Cynthia long before that. That one thing made me not want to read the book anymore, sorry.

• The character never speaking about their partner in cannon or that person has never existed. Now I get that it's easier to say that Annabeth Chase never existed in Percy Jackson for a romance fanfic, but it would be better if there was some reason behind it. I recently read a John Lennon fic that said that Yoko had died (The OC would eventually have a relationship with John). That book had a good REASON behind why the cannon pairing wasn't in that story.

I guess the main thing that I'm trying to say is a little research in the beginning will pay off in the end.
