~Haymitch POV~
I'm in a large black room when I wake up. A door opens, with a very bright hallway. Someone I recognize walks out.

"Mayslee?" I ask.
"That's right stranger." She replies.
"I thought you were dead?"
"I am. And you are too."
"WHAT!?" I can't be dead. What will Effie do without me?

"Well, almost. Just walk through this hallway and then you'll be in heaven." She says.

I don't know what to do. If I go through that hallway, I'll be with everyone I lost. If I don't, I'll be with everyone I still have.

"Sorry Mayslee, it's not my time just yet." I say. She walks back into the hallway and the door shuts.

Now I guess all I do is wait.

~Effie POV~
I sit there watching him, waiting for him to wake up. He always does. He did after surgery from his games. I hear the door open. Peeta and Katniss are there.
"Where's Primrose?" I ask.
"I put her in the nursery." She comes and sits next to me. "How's Haymitch?"
"He's in a coma, but he's still breathing." Katniss embraces me in a big hug.
"He's a fighter. He will get through this. I promise." She says.

I'm not sure if I can believe her. I know everything that has happened in his life. So many tragidies. But can he make it through this?

Time lapse 3 weeks.

~Haymitch POV~
It has felt like an eternity since I've been here. Mayslee has asked me every day if I want to come to heaven. I always declined. Finally, a door opens. It's still bright, but no one comes out. I walk through and pass out. I hope I didn't just kill myself.

~Effie POV~
I've been at the hospital every single day since Haymitch has been here. Katniss and Peeta went back to 12 with Primrose. They say if he doesn't wake up in the next 3 days, they will disconnect him from the machines.

"Haymitch, please don't leave me." I say. "I can't go on without you. Primrose is growing so much every day. I know you would love to watch that." I get up and start pacing as I talk.

"Katniss has been looking after your geese. And she called me and told me that they are having babies. Just like us." I finally say it.

"Haymitch, if you can hear me, I'm pregnant."

I hear rustling from the bed. I turn around and Haymitch is sitting up on his bed.

"Well sweetheart, that's big news to hear from just waking up from a nap." He happily says. I run up and kiss him passionately. I can't believe it! Haymitch is alive! I go over and get doctor Harrison to tell him about the good news.

"Doctor, can you get this shit off of me?" He asks. We all laugh. Doctor Harrison unhooks him from the machines.

Once he got dressed, we went to the hotel so I could get my stuff.
"Effie, can I ask you something?" He says.
"Anything."
"How long was I out?"
"3 weeks." I respond. He has a shocked look on his face. I continue packing while he sits on the bed.
"Were you telling the truth?" He asks. "About the baby?"
"Yes. I was."

"I saw Mayslee." He says.
"The one that died in the games with you?" I ask.
"Yeah. I almost went with her."
"Where?"
"To heaven." He says. I go over to him and hug him. He starts crying into my shoulder.

"Hey." I say. He lifts head only a little bit to look at me. "That part of your life is over. Look for the good in your life and use it." As soon as I say that, he kisses me. We get undressed.

The rest of the night is a blur.
