Chapter 9

At school the next day everyone is either extremely blabber mouth or deathly silent. Everyone is a zombie. It was so creepy. In the first period the teacher called out Millisa's name and froze. We all did. We all looked at her desk. Her sad, empty little desk.

The classroom was quiet. I think the teacher would have loved that if it was for any other reason. The rest of the morning was unsettling. When lunch came up I noticed that Ace and Marcus were sitting alone. Usually the table is super crowded. It looks weird now that it's empty. Everybody also notices. I find this so sad.

"I can't take this anymore." I announce

"Take what anymore?" Leah asks. I don't say anything I just walk over to Ace's table with Leah staring at me with wide eyes.

"Come sit with us" I say simply. Marcus just stares and Ace asks

"Why?"

"Because, this is just a really sad sight"

He grunts

"Come on." I say and grab his and Marcus's stuff.

"HEY!" they both exclaim. I take their stuff to our table and Ace asks

"What was that for!?"

"Well since you're here. Take a seat." I reply. He opens his mouth to say something then closes it. Then he just grunts and sits down. Marcus does the same.

"Are you sure this is a good idea Kat?" Asks Leah nervously

."Despite their reputation, "they are actually very nice people. Once you get to know them." I answer.

"Well if you say that I have nothing to fear then." She says smiling.

"What are you two talking about?" Marcus asks.

"Nothing. Hey, did you ever hear about goat yoga?" I say trying to make conversation.

"No, but it sounds interesting" Ace says. Then we all started having a nice fun conversation. I notice that Marcus and Leah really hit it off. They laugh at jokes me and Ace don't understand and like a lot of the same books.

We all chat merrily and lunch ends. We say our goodbyes and eventually the school day ends.
