Chapter 6

I scream as the guy in the car called 911.

Ella is a popular girl. She has a boyfriend, lots of friends. Even two best friends. Her academics are good. So, why? Unless...

The ambulance comes 10 minutes later.

Ella's breathing is shallow. And her heartbeat is slow, too slow.

"Come on, come on, survive!" The medics tell her.

This seems like a crime drama. Ella is the victim. I'm the suspect.

They took Ella into the hospital. Then I was taken to the waiting room. Then 15 minutes later. A police officer comes in and asks me to follow him. I get up and follow.

I was put into a police car and it was a silent drive to the police station.
When I am brought to the interrogation room.

"What were you doing when you saw the accident?" The policeman asks the moment my butt hits the chair.

"Taking a walk." I reply

"Do you know Ellery Winchest?" I think about that.

"She goes to a few of my classes. But other than that, not really." It's true. We never needed to talk. We were never partners.

"Was she popular?"

"Yeah, very"

"Are YOU popular?"

"Nope. Wait, why are you asking?"

" Well, Popularity is a motive, and You are a suspect and..."

"And!?"

"Well, Ella is in a coma." Oh my god

"Oh my god."

"You can visit her." Really? They won't push me out?

"Okay thanks, can I go now? I really have to use the bathroom."

"Sure, down the hall to your right."

"Okay, thanks." I get up to leave and follow his instructions he says.

I get back home when the clock strikes 7.

"WHERE WERE YOU!?" my mother screams.

"Oh, Witnessing an accident, getting interrogated, blah blah blah."

"What?!" my mother says aghast. I will explain the whole situation. My mom is speechless.

Instead of talking she goes to her room and takes a pepper spray, and hands it to me.

"Just keep it with you if you ever leave the house" My mom says.

Finally! I always wanted it but my mom thought it was too dangerous for me to have it. Probably because I would spray it into the face of someone I hate. Thinking about it. I probably would. It's taking all my willpower right now to not go up to Jeric and spray this in his face until the can is empty.

Me and my mom stand there in silence. Then Oliver comes running in again, a million miles per hour but this time, with a toy space ship.

"VROOM! VROOM!" he screams.

"Isn't that a car?" I ask

"Nooooo, It's a spaceship." He says in a whiny voice. Spaceships go vroom vroom?

"Ookkaayy."

In situations like this. I back away, Slowly.
