When I get back to everybody. I noticed Leah and Marcus are chatting and Celeb and Diana are talking to each other with twin telepathy. Smiling at each other. I decided to go in for a grand entrance. Then I see Ace. Then I think of a plan. I tell Ace the plan. We need two for this to work. I see a slow smile take over his face.

"Ready? Go!" I say. I dash for Leah and Ace dashes to Marcus. We push them into each other. They fall and just when they were about to make contact. I notice a glint. I see a camera. Then I see a figure run. Then without thinking. I ran after it. I'm outside and

I hear everyone yelling at me. But the wind in my ears are too loud. I can only run short distances but I can go fast. I'm running after the figure. He seems to notice me and takes zig zags and sudden turns. I run following the shortest routes. The person Is wearing a black hoodie and black loose pants with black sneakers. Geez this person loves black. I'm starting to run out of breath. My knees buckle. I'm so close. Then the person turns around. A mask is on their face. I almost grab the shirt then the person jerks away. I land face first into the concrete. My face is scratched up and my nose feels like it's bleeding. I feel dizzy and lightheaded. I hear voices calling my name and I didn't realize that my head had fallen to the ground until the back of my head hurts from the impact. Then I see everyone's faces all looking down at me. I can hear the voices but I can't understand them. Then the last thing I remember is the feeling of being lifted, Before blacking out.

I wake up and at first I don't know where I am. Then my sore legs and scratched up face demand my attention. So, I try to get up but my head hurts and I flop back down.

"Don't get up yet." Says a voice, The nurse.

"Quite the fall you took, Scratched up face but no broken nose. Your teeth seem fine." Says the nurse. Fall? What fall? I think. Then the memory comes back to me like a sledgehammer. Ah yes, The blacked masked person. Who I chased without thought. I really am an idiot sometimes. Ugh, I feel so tired even though I just woke up. I groan.

"Oh, I gave you painkillers. So you might feel sleepy." Painkillers? Sure ain't working. I only feel tired and very sleepy. That's the last thought I had before I drift off into darkness again.

I woke up later. To find myself being carried.

"Huh?" I say.

"Oh, you're awake," says a voice. Ace's. Then I notice who's carrying me.

"Wait, what's going on?" I say.

"You were still asleep when I checked on you. Then the nurse told me to take you home and I didn't want to wake you up."

"So this is your solution." I say

"Yep"

"Can you put me down now?" I ask

"Why?"

"Because I'm helpless in someone's arms." I say. He puts me down but the moment he lets go my legs don't work then I fall. He picks me up again.

"Yeah no. You don't seem to be able to walk." He says,

"I'll be fine! Just put me down! It's embarrassing!" I huff.

"Nah" He says and continues walking and the whole time I'm fuming. When we get to my house my mom opens the door and she freezes.

"It's not what you think." I say before she can say anything. Ace put me down and I stumbled into my mom. She invites him inside and I try to use telepathy to tell him to say no. Either it didn't work or he ignored me, because he walked right in. I'm stumbling to my room and realizing that my legs are a bit sore. Ok, not a bit, a lot. I close the door to my room and change into more comfortable clothes. I walk back down to, My mom and Ace talking about... Hydro flasks? Yep, My mom and Ace, talking about hydro flasks. I come in the moment Ace explains how useful they are and my mom nodding along. I think she might actually be considering getting a hydro flask. Great, all I need is a scrunchie and I'm a live VISCO girl. My mom notices me and motions for me to sit on the couch with her. I sit down and ask Ace

"Are you trying to turn me into a VISCO girl?" He laughs.

"No, but that would definitely be interesting." He says, And my mom is looking at us looking so confused.

"What's a VISCO girl?" She asks.

"2020 joke." I say.

We talked about it, then about what happened, Then my mom thanked him for bringing me here and how heavy I must've been.

"MOM! I'm not that heavy!" I say.

"You're 110 pounds heavy." She says,

"110 LIGHT!" I say and then I realize that Ace is still there and hangs my head in embarrassment. In my mind, guys shouldn't know how much a girl weighs. It's just awkward. There was a moment of silence before my mom offered Ace to join us for dinner. I once again, try to use telepathy and in the end, he is at our dinner table eating tacos. I really want to groan and lay my head on the table. But my mom was never a fan of me doing that at the dinner table. My brother is asking Ace a million questions and hits the question.

"IS KAT GETTING BULLIED IN SCHOOL?" He asks very loudly and I choke on my taco.

"Oliver*cough* why would you sa*cough* that?!" I say. Coughing in between and he looks at me with that innocent look and I lean over to him.

"The moment he leaves I will kill you." I said, Giving him my best death glare. I swear Oliver thinks I'm joking. He just shrugs and my mom is looking at him too because this is not the first time he told my business, and Jesus did I want to strangle him right then and there.

"Ignore him." I tell Ace and he nods.

"I notice that you do not eat that many tacos." He said observantly.

"What are you talking about? I ate like, 10. I can totally eat more." I say.

"10? Really? I don't think you would beat me in a taco eating contest." he said.

"Oh, your on." I say. In the end he won, but only by a couple tacos.

"Well, I gotta go. Thanks for the hospitality." He said,

"It's the least we can do, for carrying my heavy daughter all the way from the school.

"I'm NOT heavy" I say. She ignores me and we wave Ace goodbye.
