The Redo
Amelia stared at the normal TV setup in front of her, upside down on her family's mini couch. A lengthy sigh emitted for her throat as she closed her eyes ever so slightly. School was out, which meant another boring few months with no phone, friends or video games.
She had dropped her phone in the toilet a few days ago, leaving her with nothing to do for more than a few hours a day.
She was grounded for a few weeks, which meant no friends. No skateboarding. And no getting her nails done.
Only adding to that, the freezing cold air made its way back to Texas, and Amelia only had her older brother's thin-ass jacket.
She swung her legs onto the couch, twisting her way to sitting up.
"Guess I'll be here awhile," She thought aloud, chuckling to herself.
Her violet eyes darted around the room as her long, acrylic red nails tapped on the couch-side table. "I guess..I could take a nap; Just so any of you demons out there kn-"
Bleep.
Bleep.
The TV began blaring loud, deafening noises into the air.
"We interrupt this program to say there was an outbreak of a strange creature running around town," The man spoke in a shaky, raspy voice, as if he was scared for his life. "Scientists describe it with several heads, and a disfigured body. If you see this creature, please report to Universal Lab. Thank you."
The television switched to the normal channel it was on, transporting with silent static.
Amelia's tiger eyes rolled as she flipped her dark, wavy brown hair behind her shoulder. "All this nonsense," She mumbled, groaning. "Whatever. Security watch will be checking if we locked the doors soon, anyway.." She rose from the couch, sashaying her way to the front door and locked it, locking it twice to make sure. She began walking around the house, reapeating this with the backdoor and all of the windows in the house. Or at least..she thought.
With a yawn, Amelia made her way into her room. "Soooo tired.." She mumbled, pulling a tissue from the tissue box on her deskside table, before tossing it on the ground and flopping lazily on to the couch.
Timeskip
Amelia awoke to the familiar sound of the front door opening, closing and double locking. Just to be sure.
She stretched, and forced herself out of bed.
It was dark outside now. She was still tired..
Amelia poked her head out of her bedroom door, her tiger eyes darting as far as they can go downstairs.
"Mama? Papa?" She called out, cupping her hands around her mouth to use as a megaphone.
No response.
Just deafening silence.
Amelia groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Not funny, you guys."
No response.
Amelia groaned. "Fine." She mumbled, trudging down the stairs quietly.
Amelia began to check each room with a sharp eye. "Hellooooo? Mom? Dad? C'mon! This isn't funny!" She called out, a bad feeling in her stomach beginning to brew.
No answer.
Just as Amelia began to give up hope, a sickening sound booming from the basement.
Riiiiip.
Amelia's tiger eyes widened. "What..?" She began to tear up, stumbling to the kitchen. "I-i need some water..."
Riiiiiiiiip.
Amelia froze. She was sure this wasn't her imagination this time.
Rushing towards the basement, she began to silently pray.
Amelia slowly opened the door, stepping down to steps with caution.
As soon as she reached rhe last step, tears began rushing down.
She covered her nouth so she wouldn't scream.
Seven heads.
One..one big, white eye with a cut slit..
One missing eye, replaced by an X.
Mouth looking stitched closed.
Long, stick-like body.
Black, lightning bolt-shaped arms with bloodied claws..
Those..animal legs.
She couldn't forget those lengthy, furry animal legs.
Whatever this thing was..it was...eating her parents.
Its mouth opened wide with every long swallow.
Its teeth digged into the thick flesh of the Smith parents, being ripped from the once normal body ever-so-slowly.
Their throats were ripped out, thrown into the corner.
Their stomachs, wide open and empty.
Their legs..were gone.
The light was gone from the two's eyes, and their faces had literally been turned inside out.
The thing's claws digged deep into the chest of them, sunk and seeming been there for a while.
They stopped.
As they whipped around, a confused grunting nouse erupted from their throat.
As they saw Amelia, a sickening smile grew on all 5 of their faces.
"You've seen too much!" The distorted voice growled deep and low, an amused tone lingering.
Amelia screeched as loud as she could as the thing plummeted towards her.
She could do nothing in return.
She was frozen in fear.
And that was the last time anyone evee heard of the Smith family.
