...
The young girl laid upside-down on the mini couch, a hum emitting from her throat.
It had been the end of middle school, meaning summer was coming very soon. Though that meant more time to spend with her best friends, Amelia was not excited.
Summer was just another boring 3 months with no drama, gossip, or dead memes to spam her friends with.
She had dropped her phone in the toilet a few days ago, meaning another boring 5 years until Jerold(her father) was able to pay for another one.
Amelia was never able to go outside, and her friends rarely ever came to her house. Just another boring 3 months. Again.
'Right,' Amelia told herself, pulling herself right side up and sliding off of the couch. 'Nothing to do. Guess I'll be waiting awhile.'
Amelia trudged down the hallway, small grunts coming from her. She pushed her way into her room, flopping on her bed and waiting for the familiar sound of the door opening and closing.
-Timeskip by a Waffle-Toby stereotype-
Amelia awoke to the door slamming closed, yawning and stretching her arms out.
She hopped off the bed and began trudging her way out of the room and down the stairs, looking around for her father and mother. "Dad? Mom?" She called out, poking her head through every door she could.
No mom.
No dad.
She checked and re-checked the house for hours at a time, but still, she found nothing but silence and empty rooms.
She began to trudge back to her room, walking past the basement with a shrug.
Rip, rip.
Growl.
Rip, rip.
Grunt, grunt.
Amelia stopped in her tracks. That wasn't her. That couldn't have been her. 'You're going crazy, Amy..' She thought to herself, shaking her head and continuing to head back to her room.
Rip, rip.
Growl.
Grunt, grunt.
Rip.
Rip.
Rip.
Growl.
Grunt.
Amelia was sure it wasn't her imagination that time.
Hesitantly, she slowly opened the basement door and crept down the stairs.
Rip, rip.
Rip, rip.
The girl screamed at the sight in front of her.
This...thing...was eating her parents..
Whatever this thing was...
Long hair, animal-like legs..
A long, stick-like torso..
Strange mouth that seemed stitched together..
One eye missing, replaced my an X, the other was human-like, with slits for pupils..
The arms, black, and shaped like lightning bolts..
And its hands..
Long, black, bloodied claws..
And all seven of its heads, each had a long crack through its forehead..
This was the thing that escaped.
The thing that was all over the news.
It was here.
It was h e r e.
Eating it's new victims.
The thing whipped around, loud grunts emitting from it's throats.
"You've seen too much!"
The heads growled, as this..thing began to bolt towards her.
Amelia froze in fear.
And that was the last time anyone ever saw the Smith family.
