12.
Draco had no clue what to do.
It was early, much too early for him to be awake on a Saturday morning. And he was comfortable, really comfortable. Hermione's warmth was enveloping him and she was curled around him almost like a cat and he really didn't want to disturb her sleep.
He glanced around the room, making sure no one else was awake. Neville was closest to them; lying across the armchair, his head resting on one of the armrests and his legs dangling off of the other with his body shoved in the seating area. Daphne and Tracey were both sat in the middle cushion of their couch, their legs each pointed in opposite directions and they were almost pressed back to back, leaning on one another in their sleep. Harry was sprawled out on the rug in front of the fireplace, his glasses still on his face and his head half off of the pillow supporting his neck, along with a blanket strewn across only the top portion of his body leaving his legs out in the open. Ron was laying on the couch furthest away, he had one pillow under his head and another wrapped in his arms and pulled close to his chest, and his legs, just a little too long for the couch, were propped up on the armrest.
Noticing everyone still asleep, Draco let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. No one knew he was cuddling with Hermione Granger. Everything was fine.
He glanced back down at the girl in his arms, and slowly, very very slowly, he tried to move out from under her. He was not successful.
At the slightest movement, Hermione shifted completely, her arms moving from where they were curled up into her chest. One arm stretched across Draco's torso, her hand grabbing on to the edge of his shirt fabric just over his hip and the other moved up to his neck, her fingers tangling into the hair at the nape of his neck.
Draco froze.
She moved again, her cheek nuzzling into his chest, and a small hum escaped her lips.
Draco was stuck. There was no way he would be able to get up without the girl also waking and Draco really didn't want to do that. But he also wasn't sure if he could face the mortification of being seen by other people right now.
He had to get up, either that or go back to sleep, which would be impossible. He couldn't just lay there and wait for her to wake up either. He had no choice, Hermione had to wake as well.
A groan sounded and Draco looked up with wide eyes and a deep frown. Neville was rubbing his eyes, a sour look upon his face. The sun had risen just enough now to be shining on Neville as well.
When he looked up, his eyes found Draco's and he almost couldn't hide his surprise. His tired eyes scanned the situation and he didn't have a clue of what to say.
"Help. Please."
A smile cracked on Neville's face. "Alright, Draco?"
Draco's expression had not changed, though the color in his cheeks did. He was beyond mortified to have been found in such a position, though he was at least a little relieved it was Neville who had found him.
"I'm stuck."
"That much I've gathered." Neville sat up, stretching his neck, his eyes never leaving Draco's. His voice was thick with sleep and his eyes were not fully open. "How did this happen?"
"I have no clue," the frown on Draco's lips widened, "the last thing I remember was falling asleep." Hermione shifted once more and Draco's wide eyes snapped down to her, almost in horror. She bent one of her legs at the knee, dragging it up further against Draco's own legs. When she settled Draco continued, his eyes pleading with Neville, "you have to help me. I've been trying to get free for a bit now."
Neville chuckled, he stood, moving towards the blinds and closed them. Darkness covered the room again and he yawned as he moved back to his armchair. "She's just a girl mate, she's not a monster. Just go back to sleep. She'll wake up eventually."
Draco gasped softly, betrayal filling his eyes. "You expect me to just lay here and allow this?"
He settled, wrapping himself in his blanket again and another yawn escaped him. "Mate, this is Hermione we're talking about. You'll be fine."
"But-"
"I know you're exhausted, just go back to sleep for now."
Draco sighed, he was tired. When he looked back to Neville ready to argue, he was already asleep.
-
The next time Draco woke it was because the weight on him was shifting again. He groaned softly and in the haze of his sleep, his arms tightened around the girl on top of him, stopping her movements and pressing her close to him.
-
He was pulled out of his sleep one last time by voices. Sleepily, he brought one of his hands up to his eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them before looking around. Hermione must have been waking as well, because she turned her head towards the voices, her eyes peeking open.
Neville was talking to Harry, but upon noticing the last two were finally waking up, the two looked over. "Look who's finally up," Draco could hear the humor in his voice but he was not amused.
"Nice sleep?" Harry spoke up, a deep chuckle following.
"Yeah," Draco found himself replying.
Hermione finally woke, and realizing exactly where she was or rather what position she was in, she quickly scrambled to climb off of Draco. Her cheeks were tinted pink, and she refused to meet Draco's eyes.
Draco however, had gotten over his own embarrassment after being found by Neville. He sat up, looking around the room, noticing everyone else was up and moving around. He stood up, planning on getting ready and maybe going for a bite to eat.
"Plans today, Draco?"
Draco shook his head at Neville's question. "Nothing really. I was just going to do some reading."
"Why don't you join me in Hogsmeade for a bit?"
He shrugged, "sure." He left the room, not noticing that Hermione had been watching him walk away.
