Chapter 17: My love for you (edited)

Angela walked up the stairs and stomped toward the doors pushing them open with great force, I flinched.  "I got you Yuuri. I'm not going to let her hurt you again." Victor whispered to me. "Vitya what are you doing here? I thought we had dinner plans." She was dressed in a dangerously short black dress, Yurio walked out of the locker room and gagged at the sight. "Ahh! My eyes!" He screeched and ran back to the locker room, Angela rolled her eyes and then looked at me.

I averted my gaze from her and looked at the ground. "Oh! Vitya did you come here to tell him off? I knew you cared about me!" She cooed, Victor sighed and let go of me, I quickly looked up at him. "Angela..." He mumbled and slowly walked up to her. "I can't do this anymore." He stated and looked down at her. "What are you talking about Vitya?" Angela asked innocently. "Please don't call me that." His voice was low and hard, and intimidating. Very intimidating. It made Angela shake and even sent shivers down my spine.

But Angela looked as if she weren't going to back down and straightened her feeble posture. "Why are you acting like this?" She pulled her bottom lip down to a dramatic pout and looked up with her blue eyes huge and filled with false sadness. "You're just stressed aren't you? Let's just go home then and we'll have dinner there." Her pout changed into a wide smile as she suddenly hugged Victor's arms and cuddled up against him sending me a glare.

I looked away. "Go away, can't you see he doesn't like you? Seriously you're the reason why he's stressing so much." She stated sourly, I felt a pang at my heart and fully turned away. "Angela, let me go please" Victor muttered in a forced calm tone. "Oh! Sorry did I hurt you?" I heard her shuffle away, Victor was silent however, I was frozen in place and confused not knowing what to do or where to go, I was pathetic.

A firm hand suddenly grasped onto my shoulder I flinched afraid that it was Angela again; I was forced to turn around and was met with blue eyes, the ones I loved, the ones that made me feel safe. "Victor.." I looked to the side to see that Angela was glaring angrily at me. "Look at me Yuuri, only me." He gripped onto my chin and forced me to look at him. "I'm here, because of you, I'm your coach and your lover, I'm the only person who you should be looking at." I swallowed thickly and nodded slightly since he held my face in his hands. "O-okay." I stammered almost fearfully.

His face softened. "Sorry." He whispered and pulled away. "Angela I'm sorry too, I just want us to stay as friends, the way we used to be." He suggested Angela was fuming. "You really think things will be the same? You've changed Victor, what happened to you?" She asked with venom in her voice. "Well.." he smiled and looked at me with loving eyes. "I found love, something I've been neglecting for a long time." He stroked my cheek softly with the back of his hand I winced when his hand brushed against the scratches on my cheek.

He suddenly frowned. "Does it hurt that much?" He asked. "Oh come on he's overreacting," Angela exclaimed. "You were the one that hit him correct?" He turned to face her. "Yeah, because he approached me in a dangerous way." She whimpered. "I swear he was going to get violent with me I saw it in his eyes!" I tried to protest but was stopped when Victor held up his hand, it was as if he already knew I was going to speak. "But Yuuri is the only one who is hurt." He stated.

His statement baffled her. "But-" Victor cut her off this time. "Are you sure you weren't the one who threatened him?" The many questions left Angela unspeakable and distraught, she sputtered and looked around as her face flushed red. "I-I hate you!" She yelled and spun on her heel, Yuuko had soon arrived to see what the commotion was, Angela had slammed the doors open nearly breaking the glass.

I winced and looked toward the locker rooms, Yurio arrived and looked at me with a frown. "That bitch!" He growled. "She hit you didn't she!?" He exclaimed angrily. "I'm fine really." I protested with a small smile. "Someone hit Yuuri!?" Yuuko asked worriedly and ran to me from her place behind the counter. "I swear," Yurio muttered and took a breath to calm himself. "May I see?" Yuuko asked as she stepped forward. "U-um well." I stammered and took a step back. Victor seemed to have noticed and placed his hand on her shoulder to stop her. "Sorry Yuuko, I don't think it's best to crowd Yuuri. I'll take care of it." He smiled at her, Yuuko's cheeks glowed with a bright pink blush. "R-right." She stammered and nodded.

Yurio glared at Victor. "Now you care?" He asked with a harsh tone. "Yurio, I'm sorry. I did something wrong, and I regret hurting you." Victor wouldn't meet Yurio's gaze though his voice broke as he spoke to Yurio. I held onto Victor's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. "Yurio I know it may take a while for you to trust me again, but I want us to slowly trust each other again." He forced himself to look at Yurio who flinched at Victor's sudden eye contact. Yurio whipped his head to the side. "Whatever." He muttered.

Victor sighed shakily in relief. "Let's go back home, I'm still suspicious about Angela." The tone of his voice worried me because I was also suspicious about Angela, the vibe and atmosphere she gave off were intimidating. And her slap was a wake-up call for me reminding me that she was definitely not a nice person and that she was someone I shouldn't mess with. So why in the world did I talk back to her!?

After the current events, I felt like it wasn't over yet, I knew she would be back, and that terrified me.

---------------------------------------------------------

When I awoke I was engulfed by a comforting warmth and the sound of a steady beat and the rise and fall of someone's chest, I didn't dare lift my head I was too comfortable. I closed my eyes once again only to be interrupted by a rumble of low laughter. "Yuuri~" The smooth sing-song voice sent shivers down my back. "Hmm?" I mumbled groggily. "Let me see your eyes," Victor whined. "I can't open them," I muttered and turned on my side away from Victor. "Yuuri!" He wrapped his arms around my waist.

I smiled and turned back to him, our faces were mere inches apart, and our eyes were interlocked with each other. "There's your eyes!" He smiled brightly. "Hey, Victor." I placed my hand on his cheek. "Yes, Yuuri?" He asked curiously. "I don't remember what happened last night." I frowned with a light blush of embarrassment which caused Victor to laugh. "We both shared a couple of drinks because you seemed a bit stressed, you passed out so I took you to bed with me." He winked. "Don't worry we didn't do anything naughty." His words made me blush more and I hid my face in his bare chest.

He laughed once again, but a sudden thought crossed my mind. "V-Victor.." I hugged him tightly. "Yuuri what's wrong? You're trembling." He quickly sat up with me still in his arms, he propped me on his lap. I buried my face in the crook of his neck. "What's wrong love?" He asked anxiously as he stroked my hair, I barely noticed the bandage on my cheek, it reminded me of yesterday's events. My anxiety got worse. "Breathe Yuuri, I'm here." He reassured soothingly, I instantly calmed down. "Tell me what's bothering you." He demanded in a pleading tone.

I took a breath. "Will Angela be back?" I asked in a whisper that I was sure he could hear, he hugged me tighter. "She will never get to you again." He whispered back with much sincerity. "But I want you and Yurio to be okay. Will you guys be safe?" I asked quickly, Victor stiffened. "My goodness Yuuri, you're definitely something else!" He exclaimed. "You need to worry about yourself more!" He pulled me away from the comforting embrace and made me face him. "Yuuri I can't lose you, she hurt you because you stood up for Yurio and me. What happens if it's someone bigger and stronger? I can't.." His voice broke.  "I can't lose you."

My heart nearly broke at his pained expression I held his face in my hands, he looked at me with pained filled eyes. "Victor...I promise I'll take care of myself, as long as you promise to take care of yourself too." I stated, he smiled. "I promise Yuuri, with all my heart." His words made me smile. "Thank you, Victor. I-I love you."  His eyes shone with happiness. "I love you too Yuuri, I love you so much." He pulled me into a deep kiss, I grasped onto his shoulders as he wrapped his arms around my waist once again.

I pulled away to catch my breath. "Are you okay now?" He asked with a cheeky smile. "Y-yes." I stammered in embarrassment. "Good, but please don't ever scare me like that. Your panic attacks worry me a lot, I need to know when you're about to have one." He moved some hair away from my face and tucked it behind my ear. "As I said before, I can't lose you Yuuri." And so I once again found myself getting lost in his eyes and was held under a spell that paralyzed me, I forgot how to breathe then because Victor was just so breathtaking.

His amazing angelic laugh was what shook me from the trance. "What are you thinking about Yuuri?" He asked curiously. "You're just too beautiful." I blurted out without even thinking about my words, I quickly covered my mouth as my face heated up. "Aww, you're adorable my little Katsudon, thank you." Victor cooed. "You're absolutely beautiful too, I can't control my emotions when I'm around you." And I knew his words were true.

The way his hand trembled slightly as it rested against the bandage on my injured cheek told me everything. A small smile tugged at my lips. "Same goes with me Victor because my love for you is so empowering. It changes me so much. You've changed me so much you gave me courage and strength. Thank you so much.." tears filled my eyes because I knew I had gone through a lot with him by my side yet he gave me strength. "How can I ever repay you?" I asked anxiously.

He smiled widely. "Just stay the way you are, that's all I really need." He stated, and those words really did move something within me, my tears overflowed and I choked back a happy sob. I buried my face in the crook of his neck again and hugged him tightly, so tight it was as if I was trying to strangle him. "My love for you is just that important to me Yuuri, I love you way too much. Maybe a bit too much." I sniffed. "It's okay, I think I love you way too much too, but that's okay right?" I blubbered. "Of course it's okay." He reassured. "It's just our love for each other, it's something really important. Something that keeps us together." His words stayed stuck in my mind and made my heart flutter in my chest with a wave of happiness and joy.

I smiled as warm tears slipped down my cheeks and Victor's happy humming calmed my racing heart, I loosened my grip on him and reached for his hand. I held it tight and brought it to my lips, Victor's humming stopped, I could feel his eyes on me. This feeling inside me was intoxicating, and it made me feel warm and giddy, but I already knew this feeling. It was...

something that keeps us together.
