Chapter 1: The Strange Letter
A very dark and stormy evening it was, not a very nice time for people who like the outdoors...or people that had special plans to visit the movies. Such as the Tiger Team, for example. They were, once again, cooped up in their apartment due to the heavy rain...and left to be bored with nothing to do. Eden was busy speaking on the phone with someone in another room, while Devan and Clay simply sat on the couch as Nightshade gave Master Zik and Midnight belly rubs ('cause why not?). Eden stepped out of her father's bedroom. "Well, guys..." she sighed. "...our movie was pushed to 8:30 due to the storm messing with the projectors and electronics." The guys let out a disappointed moan upon hearing that, they now had nothing to do for a good hour or two...one would think that they would be used to it by now. "Someone's gotta let Ham know." Devan said, as Eden nodded. "Don't worry, I got it. Yo, Ham!" Ham was a 4th grader who's real name is Brendan...yet the gang still call him by his Xbox gamer tag, Ham Minerbro. Eden and Clay usually say it's because he's not a fully fledged member of the Tiger Team yet, and that's exactly how they treat their other friend...ampthekiller. His real name is Anthony, and the gang call him Amp...although Devan seems to think that said gamer was a member of the team anyway. Ham stepped out of the bedroom, as he adjusted the collar on his shirt. "What's going on? Are we late to the movie?" He asked. Eden shook her head. "No, actually...we won't be seeing it until 8:30 due to the storm messing with the theater's equipment." She explained. Ham stomped his foot in anger as he sat on the couch next to Clay. "Argh! I knew that was going to happen!" He grumbled. "Now what do we do until then? The wifi and cable are down because of the storm." Clay brushed a piece of lint off his shoulder. "Normally, I wouldn't care if we had to wait to see a dinosaur movie...but Ham has a point. What are we gonna do?" He asked. Nightshade's ears suddenly perked up when a brilliant idea came to his mind. He had been meaning to tell the team about this specific event in his life for a long time now, and what better time to do it than when there was nothing to do? "I have an idea," Nightshade said, "but it might not be a very good one due one of these people in the room being overly impatient." He quickly went into their bedroom and brought out some pillows and various cushions before placing them on the floor. "Get comfortable, everyone. I have an amazing story to tell you." He said. Nightshade lied down on his stomach, and patted the spots in front of him as a gesture for the others to join him. Midnight wasted no time when lying next to his owner and snuggling up close to him, while the others seemed to hesitate from confusion. "What's the story about?" Ham asked. "I don't want to spoil it too much...but I will start off by saying this: I knew about the Interesting Dimension way before I moved in with you guys." Nightshade replied. Eden almost looked amused. "Really? That's a new one." She said, as Nightshade nodded. "But what I didn't know was that they had a brand of cheese that, in a way, had my last name as the name of said cheese. And that's where the calamity started..."
(Story Mode)
Nightshade relaxed in a hammock that was set up outside of his gigantic purple mansion along with Midnight, who was sleeping on his owner's belly without a care in the world. Community service at the Academy was short today, so rather than wasting time there...the former master thief decided to come home early to spend some time with his dog. And since he left, all has been quiet. Until suddenly, a small vortex opened up in front of Nightshade's hammock, spitting out a letter onto Midnight's furry head before disappearing. Nightshade open one eye upon hearing the vortex close, and noticed the letter. "What have we got here?" He said, stretching. He opened the letter and began to read it aloud.
Dear, Mr. Nightshade Octavius Brown,
From this point on, you are not allowed to use the last name Brown to refer to yourself or any member of your family. Obviously, you are not aware that our village is very popular for our St. Ferdinand Brown cheese that has been trademarked for the longest time now...and any idiot would know not to use said name for anything. So if you and your family don't fix this situation immediately, we will be forced to take the matter into our own hands...and trust me, you don't want that.
Yours truly,
Benjamin Von Little III.
From the Interesting Dimension.
"What kind of foolishness is this?" Nightshade said, waking up Midnight as well. Sighing, Nightshade shoved the strange letter into his pocket. He thought the Academy was crazy, but now nothing compares to the crap that he just read...and what makes it worse, there might not be a solution. The master thief decided to just forget about it and take a nap to clear his mind, and maybe when he woke up...there might be a good solution.
