Chapter Five
Homemade Dino Nuggs
"Tae?" Jimin ran after Yoongi, pulling away from Jungkook to reach his friend. He let out a sigh of relief so strong it crushed his lungs when he saw Taehyung had slowly made it back onto his feet. Jimin swung one of Taehyung's long arms over his shoulders and placed his hands on his sides to lift him up. Yoongi was doing the same, trying to help from the opposite side.
"We're leaving." Yoongi said, though whether it was towards Jimin or a stunned Hoseok at their side, Jimin didn't know. Most surprising was Hoseok didn't bite back. His smiley eyes laid heavy on the pale boy's face, pursing his lips as if there words biting back on his tongue. Maybe because the party goers around him were staring.
Jimin didn't have anything to say, not wanting to get yelled at again. Hoseok seemed to make a move to grab at them, probably warn away Jungkook again knowing the younger boy would follow, but Yoongi out of all people stopped him.
"This isn't the time, Hobi." He said, one of the longer sentences Jimin had heard Yoongi utter. Jimin glanced around the apartment finding Jungkook already hanging by the door, keeping a close eye on Jimin and the boys around him. He gave a tight nod and again that wave of relief crashed through Jimin's system before being quickly replaced by an equally violent panic.
How far was the nearest ER? Taehyung was standing but his eyes were half closed and his feet slightly limp. His body behaved tipsy but there was something off in how heavy he was becoming in both Jimin's and Yoongi's grip.
Hoseok shook his head and Yoongi reached a hand on his forearm. There were no words exchanged between the boys, Yoongi simply gave it a tight squeeze and Hoseok glared but caved.
"You text me if something happens." Hoseok said to both boys before shooting a look sharp as daggers towards Jungkook who waved back as if Hoseok had blown him a kiss. The boys took that as their dismissal, starting towards the door and leaving the music and alcohol of the party behind them.

With a couple blocks out the apartment complex and into the cold night, Jungkook joined the three boys in line with the concrete campus sidewalks. The sky was less harsh than the black one Taehyung and himself had walked through earlier. Dusk's kind blues and pale purples hid behind scattered clouds causing Jimin to wish for nothing more than his bed.
Jimin wanted to rub his face but doing so would let go of Taehyung. He didn't know how far from morning they were but the exhaustion was starting to set into his bones. Taehyung was made of muscle, same as Jimin's dancer own, but even Jimin had his limits.
Jimin felt a cold hand tap at his shoulder causing him to turn his chin up to face Jungkook who had migrated over to his side. Jimin smiled softly and Jungkook wordless undid Jimin's hold on Taehyung, replacing it with himself instead. At first, Jimin tried to protest the change but Jungkook was nearer Taehyung's height which meant helping him walk would be less awkward of a hold anyway.
"Jimin." Jeon Jungkook said as Jimin looked up at him. There was genuine panic in the brunette boy's eyes - panic that hadn't been there when he had been talking with Hoseok. "You didn't drink anything already open, right?"
Jimin shook his head, biting his lip as he wrapped his arms around his cold body. There was a rock in his chest thinking how Taehyung had swapped up that jungle juice drink right after his argument with Jimin. He never should have let his friend walk off with that but they were at Hoseok's apartment - someone Taehyung knew. He never imaged that the drink could be spiked.
The pale man behind them slid his eyes from Jimin to Taehyung, assessing them in silence in a way that made Jimin feel like Yoongi was studying a quizlet for a last minute test.
"Yoongi, stop."
Yoongi did not, in fact, stop.
"You're scaring them idiot. They're friends." Jungkook said and Yoongi sighed, trying to release the tightness in his body like he was shaking off a second nature. He gave them an apologetic look which, coming from Yoongi, was almost a thousand words.
That guy needed to get fucked well and fast or that tenseness was never going to leave.
"You came." Jimin said, feeling stupid as the words left his lips. He looked up at Jungkook. "To the party. I thought I wouldn't see you again."
"I heard Hoseok invited some SADA pledges over so I thought maybe I'd catch you." Jungkook said with a shrug. "Besides, I had work to take care of."
"You have a job?"
Yoongi snickered. Jungkook ignored it.
"Sort of. It's a family business. Look Jimin I didn't mean to scare you in there but we have to get your friend back somewhere safe. The ER is thirty minutes away but our apartment is only five. Yoongi's family holds a private practice, he'll be able to help your friend if you allow us to."
Jimin's heart went out, Taehyung was starting to slump his movements and he coughed as if to throw up but nothing came out. Jimin saw that red cup blare in his head. Two steps would have been all it took to take it out of Taehyung's hand. An earlier apology might have stopped him too-
"Jimin. This isn't your fault."
Jimin swallowed, looking away and holding his hands tighter around him. "I-I know. I just - the cup was almost empty. I never imaged that someone could, that someone would, try to hurt him. He didn't even drink much."
Taehyung made a small noise like he was trying to speak but his tongue couldn't catch up to his mind. Jimin moved to hold his hand but stopped and moved to rub his back instead. "He looks like he's gonna pass out." Jimin commented.
Yoongi seemed to have the same idea.
"Yoongi don't slap him." Jungkook said as Yoongi palm started to raise. Slowly, the pale boy put the hand down.
"Do we call an ambulance? Yoongi, no insult, but maybe a hospital would have more equipment to help him." Jimin asked.
"Yoongi's older than us, Jimin. He's a doctor, his whole family come from a long line of them."
"He's not a student here?" Jimin asked.
"No." Yoongi, the apparently old man, replied.
"It's not far, we're almost there. You can trust us."
Taehyung's feet slipped and Yoongi groaned trying to lift him back up. Taehyung was starting to sweat through his shirt.
"Okay. I do, trust you. Just help him."
* * *
"You sure he's going to be okay?" Jimin asked, sitting outside the steps of a two story apartment complex just off campus. It reminded him of the type of apartments they use in most movies, almost like the red brick and stone steps leading to a painted black door were stolen from a movie set and would topple over at any second.
"Yes. I promise." Jungkook said. The boys had gotten to Yoongi and Jungkook's apartment almost three hours ago. The first two Jimin hadn't left Taehyung's side - clinging near him as Yoongi cleaned up the boy's vomit and hooked up an IV to his arm. Where the hell Yoongi had gotten access to one, Jimin didn't ask. Honestly, he didn't care. He was just scared for his friend.
"Private Practice." Yoongi repeated when Jimin poked at the IV bag and that was that.
He wanted to stay longer but when the third hour neared, Jungkook started to pull Jimin towards the door. Taehyung had color returning to his face and the vomit had stopped choking out of him. His eyes had calmed down from darting underneath his lids enough that he looked more like he'd fallen a sleep and less like he'd been fucking drugged.
"You need air." Jungkook said and again - that was that. He let the boy guide him away from his friend to the cold steps outside and they sat down. Jimin tilted his head back, just staring at the dawn kissed sky above them.
He thought of Busan, of Taehyung and him sitting on the beachfront one night with a soju Taehyung had swapped from his dad and some crackers Jimin had taken from his own house. The sunrise then was crazy, the boys spent almost as long pointing out constellations the night before the sun rose, arguing over the names of them. Jimin huffed at the thought of Taehyung calling the Big Dipper the Big Dicker.
"I trust Yoongi with my life." Jungkook said again, hanging near Jimin. Their shoulders were almost touching but Jimin could feel the boy giving Jimin space still. He could hear his voice from the night before telling him to breathe like an echo in the back of his head. "We practically grew up together and our families have worked with each other even before we were born."
Jimin only nodded, leaning back as he watched the sun bleed into the world. The weight on his chest felt like it was slowly being pulled up, string by string lifting the bricks that made it hard for him to breathe. He thought about tomorrow, SADA's last rush event which held two parts. It was the final rush event which had a dance audition in small groups and then a second private audition which was held between the pledge and one exec judge scoring it.
Taehyung and himself would have to complete the duo audition just to see if the organization would give them a bid. It's very likely that they put themselves through all of SADA's hazing and harassment only to be turned away at the end of it. But with a bid came a direct invitation to the semesters show case which only takes a handful of freshmen each year. A promise of career. Of agencies. A network.
So why wasn't Jimin excited? Taehyung would call it nerves.
Jimin sighed, looking back at the door behind him wondering over and over just what he wanted. He glanced over to Jungkook who's brows were furrowed towards Jimin. Jungkook blushed and looked away when Jimin noticed him staring and that caused Jimin to smile. He scooted over, closing the respectful distance Jungkook put between them and leaned his head on the taller boy's shoulder.
What did he want? Right now, Jimin thought, closing his eyes as he rested against his tattooed friend, he didn't know. But he didn't mind sitting outside, feeling the sun kissed sky above them, with Jungkook to lean on.

A/N:
Hm. So news. HYBE wants to do crypto currency?? Uh. Why?? I love HYBE's groups with all my heart but this feels like just such a bad idea.
Second update, omg guys guess who went on a study date?? I just finsihed My Name and a murder revenge novel called Rage of Dragons by Evan Winters so my mind was going crazy like "what are you motive?? Can you use a dagger?" the entire date bwhaha but it was fun. Got free coffee too which is always a plus. Then, unrelated to the date, ended up in the ER at 4 in the morning?? No worries everything is okay now but like what a ride.
Have a good week you guys!! See you Friday!
