Next Day

Luthras were shown having breakfast but it felt different from than other days. There was sadness and anguish on their faces. Most of them didn't sleep last night because of last night events like Preeta and Sarla's deaths, Mahira and Sheilyn's deceptions among others.

There is also Karan whom they are worried about. Rakhi doesn't know how she's gonna help her son or how Karan is going to get through this; losing the person to love because of your own mistakes hurts a lot than any other thing. She knows he's gonna blame himself for the rest of his life and sadly she doesn't know how to help.

As she looked at everyone around the table she realized that Karan hadn't come down for breakfast so she sent Sammy to get him even if it means forcing him.

They heard Sammy shout Karan's name and calling for help and so they went to Karan's room.

Karan wasn't responding because he took an overdose of sleeping tabs. When Rishabh saw the tin, he realized it was empty which meant he took all those tabs. He ordered Sammy to prepare the car and take Karan to the hospital before he loses his life.

His family was in distress, they couldn't believe that this was happening. Mahesh, Kritika, Kareena and Dadi stayed back as the rest went with Karan to the hospital. Rakhi was asked to stay but she refused to leave her son.

Karan was brought at the same hospital where Preeta was however Luthras didn't know that Preeta was admitted at this same hospital. As he was carried away to the theatre to be treated, brothers and mum stayed back and got where to sit as they waited.

Rishabh decided to walk around because he couldn't take it, he needed a distraction. As he was moving, he saw Shrishti, Sophia and another guy he didn't know and they were going to the lift. He wondered what they doing here.

"Maybe they've come for Preeta's body" he thought.

When they reached the lift, they realized that it was busy and many people were waiting so they took the stair, and Rishabh followed them because he wanted to talk with them.

Shrishti and Dave went to the doctor's office because they had questions as Sophia went to make payments, as she turned she pumped into Rishabh and was shocked to see him here.

"Rishabh, what are you doing here? Don't tell me your following me?"

"Yes, I mean no, listen am sorry but I really want to apologise for everything and am not following you, Karan was has been admitted here but then I saw you and here I am".

"Oh am sorry too". Sophia wanted to ask what happened to Karan but she declined because she didn't what to care or know what's happening with Karan and she didn't wanna say anything about Preeta to Rishabh either.

"Did the police get Preeta's body and that's why you here with Shrishti?, I can help in anyway you want".

"Rishabh, whatever it is you want to do, I suggest you let it be; I don't want Shrishti to get angry".

"Preeta was my friend too; I wanna be part of her burial. I want to say goodbye to her, is that so hard to do?, please Sophia.

Sophia looked at Rishabh with so much pity, she didn't want to say anything but also she had no hurt feelings towards him, she knew who to blame from his family

"You see; Preeta is......

As she was telling him, she heard someone call her name

"Zoya?, how?,what are you doing here?" She asked hugging her

"Dave called last night, he said something bad happened to Preeta, what happened?, he didn't tell me anything. He just said that Preeta is in a critical condition" Zoya said worriedly.

Sophia looked at Rishabh who was still there and was surprised at what he had just heard.

"What? I thought she's dead". Rishabh murmured

"What is he talking about? And who is he?" Zoya asked

"Zoya, this is Rishabh and if Dave didn't tell you anything I guess he wanted you to he here first but it's really a long story" Sophia said.

"Alright, we will get time for that but how is she doing?"

"I don't know, I haven't seen her but Dave and Shrishti went to see the doctor; as far as I know, she isn't allowed to have visitors because she's is intensive care unit. You are doctor maybe you could get a pass and go visit her then come tell us". Sophia told her

"That can do. I really thought she was on her honey moon by now, I didn't expect this. When Dave told me I was shocked and so I told Aditya that I will get the first flight to Mumbai".

Rishabh was shocked, he thought they will never see Preeta again, even though he doesn't know how is she doing but he's happy that she's fighting for her life. He thought if Karan gets to know maybe he will get motivated too and fight for his love. This was a second chance he wasn't gonna let his brother lose.

"Sophia, am happy that she's still a live, I hope she gets better and Karan needs to know".

"Rishabh please, don't tell Karan. I know he's your brother but he doesn't deserve anything. I don't care if he loves her or not, he's the reason my friend is in that condition and fighting for her life". Sophia told him then left to sit with Zoya.

Rishsbh also left without saying anything but he wasn't gonna keep quiet, he planned to tell Karan as soon as he wakes up.

Zoya and Sophia went to see the doctor who's Dave and Shrishti were talking too. They knocked and he told them he was busy however Shrishti told the doctor th st they were family and can come in.

Zoya greeted both his brother and Shrishti and after they continued to listen to what the doctor was saying.

"I was telling them that, there hasn't been any change in your sister's condition. We are still observing however we did her brain scan this morning before you came and am waiting for the report. As I told you yesterday she suffered from hypoxia and there are consequences".

"Its that serious?", Zoya asked.

"But despite these consequences, there patients who have over come them and became normal again. Am surprised her child is doing okay according to the scan we did this morning".

"She's pregnant? " Zoya asked surprised.

"Yes" answered Shrishti.

"Is this part of the long story also?", Zoya asked Sophia

"Yes and I can't tell now. When we go home we will tell you everything".

"Okay"

"Doctor, can we see her please?"

"Not now?"

"What about me? Am a doctor and I know all the procedures and this is my card".

"I will let you go there but only for a few minutes".

"Thanks doc"

"Let's go then".

Zoya went with the doctor as others stayed back.

When Zoya entered the ICU, she couldn't control her tears, she was taken back with what she was seeing, Preeta was laying lifeless with so many tubes and wires around her and on her body. She caressed her head and kissed her, then put her head on has.

" What happened sweetheart? Am sorry for not being here". She murmured as she continued to cry.

Since, she didn't know what happened, and wasn't patient enough. She asked the doctor what happened to her.

"Suicide"

"What?"

"That's all I know. I don't know why she did it but that young man brought her here yesterday".

"She's the sweetest, lovely and happy person I've ever met, so am surprised that she tried to......"..

"Am sorry and think we can now leave".

"Doctor, please let me part of your team that is treating her. I know I don't belong here but I can't go back to Deihl until my friend is better. Don't worry about the payments; I don't need them. All I care about for is her".

"I will think about it but I also have to talk about it with the other doctors".

"Its okay"

"There is also something you must know"

"What is it doctor"

"She's in critical condition and from my assessment, there is a possibility that she won't make it, so I don't want you to have these expectations. Am sorry but as a doctor, I think you know that".

"It's hard to process and I understand what your saying. It's true she's critical but as someone who loves her a lot, I know she will fight, she must and she should for her child"

"About that, I didn't say this in front of the others because I didn't know how they would react, but she's expecting twins".

"Seriously"

"Yes"

"Preeta if you can hear me, please fight and get better. You've got twins growing inside of you", Zoya said and after she and doctor left.

On the side, Rishsbh was in thoughts, he was remembering what Sophia had just said that he shouldn't tell Karan but he wasn't going to keep quiet. If this what motivates and makes his brother better he didn't care. He knows he much Karan loves Preeta and he's sure once he gets to know the truth, he will move heaven and earth to atone for his mistakes and also protect Preeta and their unborn child.

He sat down near others and waited for news about his brother.

After forty minutes, the came to them

"He's out of danger right now. But he is sleeping"

"Can we see him now doctor"

"Sure you can"

Luthras went to see Karan. He was sleeping but after some time, he woke but was weak

"My love, your awake" his mum cried

"Mum, am sorry" he cried out emotionally

" Listen, I know your hurt, we feel the same way. I know you blame yourself for Pree....ta.......

" Mum, please don't say it"

"But you must come to terms with it, that she's......

"She's not dead", Rishabh blurted it out

"What?"

"You heard me, someone saved her. In fact she's in this very hospital but in a critical condition".

"How do you know this?"

"Sophia"

"I....I...have to go see her now"

Karan tried getting out of bed but was declined by his mother because he was weak

"Mum please, let me go", he pushed them but with Sammy, and Rishabh he couldn't overpower then and his mum also called a nurse who gave him a sedative.

"Rishabh, is it true?" Sammy asked

"Yes, it's true however no one knows how's doing. I heard Sophia say that Shrishti and some guy went together to talk to the doctor. Preeta is in ICU and she's not allowed to have visitors".

"Is Shrishti still here?" Sammy asked

"I don't know and I suggest you don't see her at least not now. Am sure she's still angry with us".

"She has every right too but I gotta see her".

Rishabh tried stopping Sammy but he wasn't listening.

He saw her almost at the door way and called her name.

Shrishti stopped and turned to look at him.

"What do you want?", she asked angrily

"Are you okay?, do you need any help?", Dave asked protectively

"No, I will handle it".

"Who is that guy?" Sophia asked

"Sammy Luthra, brother of Rishabh Luthra".

"Oh"

"Long story again"

"Yes".

They turned to look at Shrishti who was shouting at Sammy.

"We have nothing to talk about; your family hurt us, your brother hurt my sister. She's in ICU fighting for her life. I don't even know if she will ever be the same even though she were to wake up. go and don't ever come back".

"Shrishti, you can't do this to me, I love you. I can't live without you".

"But my mum, my sister, how can live without them while with you?"

"Am sorry. Karan........

" Don't ever say that name again in my presence. Excuse me".

She left him there.

Since they weren't allowed to see Preeta, they went home and decided to come back later.

Sammy went back and Rishabh asked if he was able to talk with Shrishti.

"She's still angry but I won't give up on us and I don't like that guy with men".

"Your jealousy. Anyway take mum home, I will stay here with Karan and as soon as he wakes up, I will call you".

Rishabh stayed with Karan.

At the Aroras, Zoya was sad after hearing about Sarla's death and what caused it. She become even angrier after knowing what Karan did. Her husband likes him because he's a cricket fan but Zoya doesn't.

"How did she meet him and but what about Prithvi?, the last time I talked to her she told me she was getting married to Prithvi, she never talked about Karan".

"Prithvi was a jerk and even though I know he loved my sister, him and Sheilyn were seeing others and were behind Mahesh Luthra's accident which Preeta was accused of".

"What now? And who is Sheilyn?" Zoya asked

"Rishabh's ex-wife"

"Am lost, this is messed up and complicated"

"If Prithvi and Preeta were getting married, is he the father of the twins?"

"What twins? " Dave asked

Zoya remembered that they didn't know about them.

"The doctor told me that according to scan they carried out this morning, they got to know that she's having twins but can't determine the sex now".

"Wow!, I don't know what to say and Karan Luthra is father to answer your question"

"How is that possible, was she seeing two guys at the same time?

"Its complicated"

"Well uncomplicate it"

"Prithvi was the man chosen for her and Karan was the man she choose for herself, a man she fell in love with".

"Why wouldn't she go with the one she loved" Dave asked

"Because she was already engaged to Prithvi but then fell in love with Karan later. They were friends and had this weird relationships; people had doubts about their relationship but still they denied it. I didn't understand it at first as in the beginning they couldn't stand each other and would argue all the time and no one expected them to actually fall for each other. I picked up on their feelings before they ever did. I remember teasing them but they denied it until Preeta told me one day that she feels weird every time she's near Karan. I told her its love but instead of working upon those feelings, Preeta started avoiding Karan, time passed and I didn't know what was happening because Preeta never talked about it until one day she told me that she and Karan have been seeing each other secretly. She was happy and so was he. I kept their secret and my apartment was used as their love-nest". Sophia told them

"I had my suspicions but didn't care to find out the truth because i was scared of what I could find even though it would've made me happy because i didn't like Prithvi but Karan for my sister but now i hsve my doubts; if he ever truly loved her".

"Shrishti I will be honest about this because I've seen them and knew for a long time about their relationship. I know Karan hurt Preeta very bad but one thing you shouldn't have doubts on is their love; he loved her, she loved him. They did things I can never do for anyone. These are people who wouldn't sacrifice anything for each other and stand by each other. Preeta was a always happy around Karan compared to Prithvi, am sure you witnessed many times how comfortable she was with Karan than Prithvi. Am sure that love was always there from the very beginning but they realised it late and we the people around them thought it was normal because that's how they behaved with each other. Mahira and Sheilyn are the ones responsible for breaking that relationship. I know Karan should've done better but he was angry about everything his brother's marriage and his father's accident, of course he was gonna snap. It hurts that Preeta became the victim of their deceptions however one thing you should know is that despite what happened Karan loved Preeta".

"If he did love my sister, then he shouldn't have tried getting married to Mahira just after abandoning her".

"Now that's terrible" Zoya said

"That's what am saying he didn't love her but Sophia says otherwise".

"I accept he tried marrying someone else but it's because he believed those witches and his family wasn't helping either but he didn't in the end and you saw how broken he was when he thought Preeta was dead. Yes he did her bad but he also loves her. I know and am sure because I have seen them".

"Well I don't care what he feels, he took my mum from me and my sister is laying in that hospital because of him; I will never forgive him and I won't let him near my sister".

"Shrishti am not asking you to forgive him, am never forging him too but what will happen if Preeta ever takes him back. Will you stand in your sister's happiness? "

Shrishti didn't say anything because she didn't know what to say.

"After everything I've heard; I got nothing to say. Let's pray that Preeta gets well. The future will look after its safe". Zoya told them.

She and Dave left to have a change of clothes but promised to get back as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Karan woke up and the first name he called was Preeta.

He requested Rishabh to take him to Preeta.

"She isn't allowed to have visitors", Rishabh told him

"Please Rishabh, help me" he pleaded

"I have to see her even if it's from a far please".

"Okay".

They went to the doctor's office and pleaded to him.

"I can't let you, I couldn't even let her sister in so why would I let you in".

"Because that woman laying there is the love of my life, the mother of my unborn child and my wife. Please I just wanna take a look at her, touch her and feel her please help me. It won't take long".he pleaded

Karan had tears in his eyes and kept pleading until the doctor gave in.

"Am giving you few minutes"

"Thank you very much".

Rishabh stayed outside as Karan entered and his heart broke for the millionth time.
