VII - Cub

"Hey Scar? Are you seeing this?" Cub was looking at one of the monitors, more specifically, the one that tracked magic.

"Hmm?" Scar walked over, looking at the monitor, "Holy Notch, that's a lot of magic!" Scar exclaimed, jumping back.

"Yeah, and it's coming from Xisuma's base. Should we investigate?" Cub asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Are we sure X isn't just doing admin stuff?"

"Positive, we've tracked that magic before. This is way more than just regular admin duties. This is something bigger."

"Fine, we can investigate. I want to go in person though, no drones. It will be less suspicious for the rest to see us flying than for them to see the drones." Scar gave in, grabbing his elytra and some fireworks. Together the duo flew out to Xisuma's base, hoping he wasn't there. When neither Scar nor Cub saw any name tags, aside from named animals, they entered, Cub pulling his handheld magic tracker, Scar doing the same. Together, they tracked the magic to a small, redstone concealed room. Entering it, the duo, unfortunately, found nothing but decided to close up to the door, while they were inside, and wait to see if Xisuma would return.

After about 20 minutes of waiting, Cub heard the door open. "Hey, Xisuma! Where do you keep the tea? I'm going to make us each a cup!" Cub heard Grian call.

"In the chest on the bottom row, three in from the left!" Xisuma called back, finally walking into the room where Cub and Scar were hiding behind some plants. Only, he looked different. Xisuma was wearing a gray and purple outfit with the weird symbol they found at spawn stitched on the front, a little 'X' in the middle. He still had his helmet on, which was normal. He wore a gray cloak, and when Xisuma turned, Cub caught a glimpse of something black and purple underneath. A minute later, Grian walked in with two steaming cups of tea in his hands. Cub was perplexed, there was no way Grian could have finished making the tea that fast. Grian was wearing the same outfit as Xisuma, only he had a 'G' stitched instead of an 'X'. Grian also had large black and purple wings coming from under his cloak.

"Geez, Xisuma, how can you stand your wings tucked away! Grian jokingly asked, "I can't stand having them folded or concealed for more than five minutes anymore! Though that could be because of, you know..." Grian trailed off and drank some of his tea.

Xisuma laughed, "Yeah, well, I can also stay in uniform better than you," he said pointedly.

"Not my fault the helmet is sweaty and uncomfortable!" Grian replied childishly

Cub looked over at Scar's hiding place seeing that Scar was trying to get his attention. Quickly, Scar signed in the Vex signed language to jump out of their hiding places and block the exit. Cub nodded in agreement and Scar started counting down on his fingers. Three... Two... One... Together, they came out of their hiding places, though Cub stumbled trying to get out.

Xisuma, who was facing the door saw them and yelled to Grian, "Grian, run!" Grian immediately turned and started running for the exit, running faster than Cub thought would be possible. However, it was too late. By the time Grian had reached them, the Vex duo had their swords out blocking the only exit. Grian, realizing he couldn't get out, slowly backed up, his uniform thing fading and his normal clothes molding over it. However, his wings remained visible, though drooped and semi-closed, and Cub wondered what the concealment looked like. Xisuma, too, had transformed back into his normal clothes, and he stood behind Grian protectively, with his hands on Grian's shoulders and wings stretched out aggressively.

"Why, exactly, are you in my base spying on us?" Xisuma hissed, sounding a little like his supposedly evil brother.

"We got a suspicious magic reading coming from this room." Scar spoke up.

"Oh, that." Xisuma glared at Grian a little, "It's all taken care of, you can leave now."

"We will, once we have you!" Cub lunged at Xisuma, leaving Scar to grab the smaller hermit. Xisuma struggled at first, but after a look from Grian, he stopped and allowed himself to be bound. Instantly suspicious, Cub kept a close eye on the duo as they were led to Concorp via the Nether. When they reached the site, the Vex duo put their captives into one of the rooms in their basement, locking the door. They then went to research a truth potion that would be powerful enough to affect the obviously powerful players, so that they could publically question the two.
