16. There Goes The Neighborhood

"Double date?" Caroline asked confused, "You want to go on a double date with me and Brayden?".

"Look Caroline, things between me and Brayden are tense, really tense" Elena replied, "By going on this double date, I'm hoping we can settle things between us, his Stefan's brother and I can't have him hate me forever".

"Elena, Brayden won't agree to this" Caroline said.

"Please make him agree" Elena pleaded, "We're not going to do a lot, we'll have dinner at the Grill, maybe watch a movie together".

Caroline sighed, "This isn't a good idea, not only because of you and Brayden, but also because of the tension between Stefan and Brayden".

"Stefan won't provoke Brayden, I promise" Elena assured, "And neither will I, please, Caroline it will be fun".

"Fine" Caroline said, "But if Brayden gets grumpy, then that will be on you, not me".

Elena smiled, "Deal".

"There's someone in the house" Brayden whispered to Damon, as the brothers entered the boarding house.

Damon and Brayden entered the living room, to see Pearl and Anna.

"Hello, Damon, Brayden" Pearl greeted.

"Ever hear of knocking?" Damon asked.

"An invitation wasn't necessary" Pearl replied, "I'm surprised that no living person resides here, is it just you three?".

Damon shrugged, "Yeah, how do you keep out unwelcome vampires?" Anna asked.

"Kill them" Damon replied, speeding over to Pearl and holding her by her neck, causing Brayden to roll his eyes at his brother.

Brayden wasn't surprised when Pearl very easily removed Damon's hand from her neck, and threw him on to the floor.

"Idiot" Brayden whispered, pouring himself a drink.

"Have a seat" Pearl told the brothers.

"Pass" Brayden said, while Damon sat.

"I was hoping we could have a word" Pearl said.

"And I was hoping to have shower sex, turns out we don't always get what we want" Brayden said sarcastically.

"Are you always this vulgar?" Anna asked, looking at Brayden in disgust.

"Don't like it?" Brayden asked, "Then get out of my house".

"We've taken up residence at a farmhouse just outside of town, it'll suffice for now" Pearl said, interrupting Anna and Brayden.

"All twenty five vampires?" Damon asked shocked.

"Not all, some" Pearl replied, "I imagine that a few have already left town, others are probably still in the woods, or like us, acclimating".

"Here's what I don't get, how the hell did your posy get out of the tomb?" Brayden asked confused.

"I think the witch screwed up that part of her hocus-pocus" Anna replied.

"The witch is now dead, so be at least a little respectful" Brayden snapped, talking about Bonnie's Grams who died that night as the spell took too much from her.

"I understand from Anna that the founding families still have a secret council?" Pearl asked.

"And both of you are part of it" Anna said.

"Stalker much" Brayden told Anna, making her glare at him.

"I'm not stalking, I'm up to date" Anna snapped.

"Do you have crush on one of us?" Brayden asked, "I mean that explains why you know everything about us, it's cute and all but I have a girlfriend, and even if I didn't have a girlfriend, you're not my type".

"You're not my type either" Anna snapped.

"Oh right, that's because I'm not a certain gamer, does your mother know about that?" Brayden asked, making Anna glare at him.

"What?" Pearl asked confused.

Brayden smirked, "Nothing, please continue your useless demands".

"Now that you two have infiltrated the council, I need to know everything they know, starting with a list of name with all the council members and their families".

"And everyone you've supplied with vervain" Anna interjected.

"Yes, that will have to stop immediately" Pearl said.

"What exactly are you trying to achieve?" Damon asked.

"Mystic Falls is our home, Damon" Pearl replied, "They took that from us, our land, our home, it's time we rebuild".

"What, are you crazy?" Damon asked, "That was 1864, wake up, women, the world has moved on".

"As a reward, I'm willing to give you what you two want most" Pearl said.

"You have nothing you can offer us" Brayden said.

"How about Katherine and Kaitlynn?" Pearl asked.

"You wouldn't even know where they are" Damon replied, "You've been under the ground for a century and a half".

"Katherine and Kaitlynn were my best friends long before we came to Mystic Falls" Pearl said, "I know how they think, I know their patterns, I know where to find them".

"Me and my brother no longer have any desire to see Katherine or Kaitlynn ever again" Damon said, "And there's no way in hell we're gonna play the role of your little minions".

Damon stood up, but Pearl pushed him back down, "I'm not asking for your help, Damon, finding Katherine and Kaitlynn was just a mere gesture of kindness, the rest in nonnegotiable".

Brayden saw Pearl about to attack Damon, but before she could, Brayden speeded behind Anna and stuck his hand through her chest, shocking Pearl.

"Step away from my brother Pearl, or your daughter dies" Brayden said, holding Anna's heart, making it hard for her to breath.

"Let go of her Brayden" Pearl said.

"Listen to me very carefully, this is my house, you don't come to my house and threaten me and my brother" Brayden said, "And this town, was never yours to begin with, this is our town, we were born here, we grew up here, you and your fellow vampires were pests who infected our town, and if I have to, I will kill each and every one of you one by one, you want to stay in my town? Then stay, but don't even think that is your town, me letting you and your pets stay in this town, is my gesture of kindness, don't take it lightly".

Brayden took his hand out of Anna's chest and pushed her towards a shocked Pearl.

"Now get the hell out of my house" Brayden said.

"You hate me" Brayden said, as soon as Caroline opened the door.

"No, I don't hate you Brayden" Caroline said, letting Brayden in her house.

"Then why make me go through this torture?" Brayden asked.

"Elena just wants to get to know you" Caroline replied.

"I don't want to get to know her though" Brayden complained, he grabbed Caroline's wrist and pulled her closer to him, "I want to get to know you".

Caroline sighed, "I'll make you a deal".

"What kind of deal?" Brayden asked curiously.

"If you go on this double date with me, I will--", Caroline leaned forward, and whispered into Brayden's ear, "Have shower sex with you".

"Done!" Brayden yelled, "What are we waiting for? Let's go to this wonderful double date with my boring brother and his even more boring girlfriend".

"You are unbelievable you know that?" Caroline asked.

Brayden kissed Caroline, "I just want to experience normal teenage life with you".

"Only when I offered you something in return" Caroline said.

"Princess, the double date is only fun for you, shower sex on the other hand will be fun for both of us" Brayden said.

"Okay, enough" Caroline said, pushing Brayden away from her, making him laugh, "Let's just go".

Brayden sighed, "This is still going to be a nightmare".

"You will be fine" Caroline assured, lacing her fingers with Brayden's.

"So, Brayden, how is dating Caroline?" Elena asked.

"Amazing" Brayden replied, "She doesn't go around accusing me of things I never did".

Elena frowned, "Look Brayden, I'm sorry for accusing you, but you killed my mother, I think we're even".

"I didn't kill your mother" Brayden snapped.

"Fine, Damon did" Elena said, "Still, you don't see me holding a grudge".

"What did you think was going to happen tonight?" Brayden asked, "One night isn't going to make me like you Elena".

"I know, one night isn't going to make me like you either, but I'm doing this for Stefan" Elena replied.

"You realise Stefan has two brothers right?" Brayden asked.

"But you're the one whose dating my best friend" Elena replied.

Brayden sighed, "I need a drink".

Brayden, Caroline, Elena and Stefan now stood by the pool table, playing pool.

"Why does he get to get drunk?" Brayden asked, looking at his twin who was getting drunk by the bar with Kelly and Jenna.

"Because his not on a double date" Caroline replied.

"You suck" Brayden told Stefan, when he missed the ball.

"I'm sorry I don't spend all my free time here" Stefan teased.

"I spend my free time here drinking, not playing pool" Brayden said, potting a ball, "Boom, first darts, now pool, Stefan you suck at games".

"You just like to show off" Stefan said.

"Of course I'm going to show off, I'm good, you're not" Brayden said.

"Let's make a bet then" Stefan said.

Brayden smirked, "Now you're talking my talk, what's the bet?".

"Me and Elena vs you and Caroline, the loser does what the winner wants" Stefan replied.

"Shots" Brayden said, "The loser does shots".

"Deal" Stefan said, shaking Brayden's hand.

"We have to win this princess" Brayden told Caroline, "I'm not losing to my baby brother".

"Anyone tell you that you're really competitive?" Caroline asked.

"Winning feels good princess, losing sucks" Brayden replied.

"You're drinking the shots if we lose by the way" Caroline said.

"Why?" Brayden asked, whispering into Caroline's ear, "You want to have drunk shower sex?".

Caroline laughed, "Shut up".

"Yes!" Caroline yelled excitedly, as Brayden potted the last ball, "We won!".

"Of course we won" Brayden said, giving Caroline a high five, he then turned to an amused Stefan, "Shots time brother".

Stefan shook his head, but nonetheless nodded, "How many?".

"I'll be generous, three each" Brayden replied, handing Elena and Stefan three shots each.

"Ready, set, go!" Caroline yelled.

And with that both Elena and Stefan downed their shots one by one.

"Now this is what I call fun" Brayden said, wrapping his arms around Caroline's waist.

"Tonight was fun" Caroline said, as she entered the boarding house with Brayden, having lost Stefan and Elena somewhere.

"This was a one night thing, it's never happening again" Brayden said.

"Oh come on, when Damon gets a girlfriend, all of us can go on a triple date" Caroline said.

"Gross" Brayden said, trapping Caroline between the wall and him.

"Can I help you?" Caroline teased.

"Yes, you can" Brayden replied, placing his hand on the back of Caroline's head, and smashing his lips on to hers.

Brayden removed his jacket, then took Caroline's off, all while his lips being attached to Caroline's.

Brayden lifted Caroline up, causing her to wrap her legs around his waist, and he started kissing down her neck, when suddenly the front door slammed opened.

"You got to be kidding me" Brayden whispered, looking at the front door in shock, when he saw his brother, making out with Kelly Donovan.

"Eww" Caroline said, hiding her face in Brayden's neck.

"We should go" Brayden said, grabbing Caroline's hand and taking her towards his room.

Brayden entered his room with Caroline, after closing the door, he slammed Caroline against the door and smashed his lips on to hers again.

"I can't get enough of you" Brayden whispered, kissing down Caroline's neck.

Caroline smiled, "That's nice to know".

Brayden smiled, he removed his shirt, then helped Caroline out of hers, he picked her up again and started walking towards the bathroom.

"Time for what you owe me" Brayden whispered, making Caroline laugh.

Caroline and Brayden laid in Brayden's bed, their hair wet from the shower, and their naked bodies being covered by nothing but the sheets.

"I love you" Brayden whispered, kissing Caroline's bare should.

"I love you to" Caroline whispered, her eyes closing due to exhaustion.

"I'm going to get you something to eat" Brayden said, getting out of bed and wearing his trousers.

"Come soon" Caroline whispered.

"Be back before you know it" Brayden said, kissing Caroline's head.

Brayden walked downstairs, and realised his brothers were in the living room, "Brother bonding without your favorite brother?".

"You were to busy with blondie" Damon teased.

"You were too busy with the busboy's mom" Brayden retorted.

"Hey Brayden, thanks for tonight" Stefan said.

"I didn't do it for you" Brayden reminded.

"I know" Stefan said, "But it felt nice being brothers again".

"Don't get used to it" Brayden said.

"Wouldn't dare of it" Stefan teased.

Suddenly, a vampire crashed through the window and tackled Stefan down, stabbing him with a glass, shocking the brothers.

Brayden grabbed the vampire and pushed him off of Stefan, just as two more vampires entered the house.

Brayden fought one vampire, while Damon fought the other, and Stefan took the last one.

Stefan tried stabbing the girl, but she held him by his neck and threw him on to the floor, just as she was about to attack him again, Stefan staked her, while Brayden ripped the heart of the vampire he was fighting.

Fredrick, the vampire who was fighting with Damon, ran away after seeing the state of his fellow vampires.

"Damn it" Damon snapped.

"I remember them" Stefan said, "From 1864, they were in the tomb".

Brayden and Damon exchanged a look, "Yeah" Damon said, "About that".

"There is no vampires in the tomb anymore" Brayden revealed, shocking Stefan.

After helping Damon and Stefan get rid of the bodies, Brayden went back into his room, to see Caroline asleep, he was glad years ago he made sure his room was soundproofed.

Brayden laid down on his bed, wrapping an arm around Caroline's waist, he closed his eyes and fell into a blissful sleep.
