01. Growing Pains

"I think I'm going to puke" Kaitlynn said, as her and Fae looked at Klaus's burnt body.

"Oh come on Katalina" Klaus, still in Brayden's body said, walking over to the two girls, "I think it's beautiful".

"Why the hell have you brought your body here?" Fae asked confused, "The deal we made with Brayden was that you'd leave his body and jump into someone else's as soon as possible".

"Yes, when I assumed I'd be a pile of ash" Klaus said, "But apparently fate and oxygen intervened, and there I am, so, put me back".

"I can't do that right now" Fae said, "I used most of my magic putting you into Brayden's body, I need time to gather my strength again".

"Your history teacher outed everyone to the council" Tyler informed, "They're on a warpath and this body's vulnerable".

"She doesn't have the strength right now, just let her relax for a moment" Kaitlynn snapped.

Klaus glared at the two girls, "Let me put it this way, the sooner you, Fae, put me back in my body, the sooner you two can go back to your lovers, if you don't put me back, then rest assured, no one is leaving this cellar".

Kaitlynn and Fae looked at each other, they knew by now everybody would be losing their mind wondering what happened to the three of them, now more then ever it was important to put Klaus back in his body so they can all return back to their loved ones, but only if returning Klaus into his original body was that easy.

Klaus walked out the Lockwood's cellar, leaving Fae and Kaitlynn to figure out how to put him back in his body, when suddenly Brayden's phone beeped, taking it out of his pocket, he realised it was a voicemail from Caroline's mom.

"Ah, what do you want?" Klaus wondered, pressing the voicemail.

"Brayden, I don't know where you are, I don't even know if you're okay or not, but if you are alive, then I know you're the only one who can save my daughter, Alaric outed everyone to the council and Pastor Young took Caroline, I don't where, I just--you've always been there for her whenever she needed someone, and if you're listening to this voicemail, then I'm hoping you will save my daughter again, she needs you Brayden, please save her".

Caroline was currently in a van being transported to god knows where, next to her was Rebekah, who slowly woke up and immediately tried to get out of the ropes but failed miserably.

"Vervain ropes" Caroline informed, gaining Rebekah's attention, "Looks like Alaric outed us all to the council".

"The council?" Rebekah asked, "What exactly do they think they can do to me?".

Before Caroline could say anything, the van they were in suddenly got into a crash and flipped to it's side, the glass shattering all around them.

"What the hell happened?" a confused Rebekah asked.

Suddenly the vans doors were ripped open and seeing the person infront of, immediately caused tears to well in Caroline's eyes.

"Brayden" Caroline whispered.

Klaus, who Caroline thought was Brayden, kneeled by Caroline and started untying her, ignoring the pain the vervain ropes were causing him, "I'm harder to kill than you think" he told Caroline.

"I knew it" Caroline whispered, as Caroline slowly helped her up, "I knew you weren't dead, I knew you won't leave me like this".

"Come on, we gotta go" Klaus urged, helping Caroline out of the van.

"Wait, what about me?" Rebekah asked.

Klaus kneeled down, making sure Caroline couldn't hear him, "Keep them busy, little sister" he said, causing Rebekah to look at him in shock, finally realising why Klaus's sireline hadn't died, it was because Klaus never died in the first place.

Caroline shoved Brayden into a tree and immediately started kissing him, assuring herself that he was actually alive, he hadn't left her, he was still here.

Caroline broke the kiss and stared at Brayden, "Why do you always trouble me?" she asked, "When I heard you yelling in pain on the pain, do you even realise what I went through? And where the hell have you been?! Stefan and Damon having been losing their mind in trying to find you, Fae and Kaitlynn".

"This is going to sound incredible, but--", Caroline interrupted Brayden by once again smashing her lips on to his, Brayden speeded Caroline over to another a tree and Caroline helped him out of his jacket, all while their lips not leaving each others, they broke apart for one second to allow Brayden to remove his shirt and then immediately went back to kissing.

Brayden finally pushed away from Caroline, "Easy love, wrong time, wrong place, wrong equipment" he said.

"Shut up Brayden" Caroline said, "You are finally here infront of me, we're fugitives on the run, all signs point to your favorite thing in the world, outdoor sex", Caroline took her cardigan off, leaving her in just her tank top, she then went back to kissing Brayden, she shoved him into a tree, taking a step back, she took her tank top off, now just in her bra and once again kissed him, when suddenly reality hit, causing her to separate and look at Brayden in confusion, "Wait, did you just call me love?".

"I don't know love, did I?" Brayden asked.

Realisation suddenly drew on Caroline, it all made sense to her, Brayden screaming in pain on the phone, her and the brothers not dying after Klaus died, Brayden, Kaitlynn and Fae all of a sudden missing after Alaric stake Klaus, it was because Brayden wasn't Brayden, he was Klaus.

"What the hell did you do to Brayden?" a disgusted Caroline asked.

"That's what I enjoy about you" Klaus said, "So much more than a pretty face".

"Oh my god, you're Klaus, you're disgusting" Caroline spat.

"And you're a glorious kisser" Klaus praised, causing Caroline to slap him across his face, making Klaus chuckle, "Listen, I didn't have to risk exposure to come save you".

"Oh, you do one semi-decent thing and now you're my hero?" Caroline asked, putting her shirt back on, "Ugh, I need to sanitize my mouth".

"Your mouth was all over me, I was an innocent victim" Klaus defended.

"Put Brayden back" Caroline snapped.

"Gladly" Klaus said, "Then maybe I'll take you up on your offer of outdoor sex".

Caroline chuckled, "You won't be able to come near me, Brayden won't allow you".

After giving Klaus one last glare, Caroline walked away, still in shock that she kissed Klaus.

"You sure you're strong enough to do this?" a worried Kaitlynn asked Fae, as the three girls and Klaus stood in the Lockwood's cellar.

"I was strong enough to put Klaus in Brayden's body, I have to believe that I'm strong enough to take him out as well" Fae replied, she then glanced at a worried Caroline, "Don't worry, Brayden's going to come back to you".

Caroline gave Fae a smile, who gladly returned it, she then went behind an annoyed Klaus, who was kneeling on the ground, and placed her hands on the sides of her head and started chanting while Kaitlyn stood next to Caroline, the two friends grabbed each others hands and looked at the scene infront of them in worry, they wanted Brayden back, but not on the risk of Fae's life.

The two girls watched as Brayden suddenly gasped and opened his eyes.

"Brayden?" a hopeful Caroline whispered.

Brayden looked at Caroline and immediately a smile formed on his face, "Princess" he whispered, immediately causing a huge smile to form on the Forbes vampire's face, she knew the person infront of her was definitely the man she loved, Caroline immediately lunged forward and hugged Brayden, causing both of them to fall to the ground, but neither of them really cared, all they cared right now was each other.

"I missed you" Caroline cried, "I missed you so much".

"I'm here now" Brayden whispered, running his hand in Caroline's hair, "I'm here now and I promise to never leave".

"I won't let you leave" Caroline said, "You're stuck with me forever now Brayden".

Brayden chuckled, "Wouldn't have it any other way, princess".

Kaitlynn walked over to Fae, who was admiring Caroline and Brayden with a small smile on her face, "What would we do without you?" she asked.

"Die" Fae teased, making Kaitlynn laugh.

"You are a freaking rockstar, Fae Bennett" Kaitlynn said, pulling her best friend into a tight hug.

Caroline and Brayden, and Fae and Kaitlynn's moment was broken, when suddenly Klaus's casket opened, "Well, that was bloody annoying" Klaus said, sitting up, making everyone else shake their head.

"Stefan", "Damon".

Stefan and Damon, who after escaping from Pastor Young, were staring at the fireplace at the boarding house, they were worried, first their brother and the girls they loved disappeared, and then Caroline also went missing, they tried to find them but failed miserably, they had no idea what was happening, and the not knowing was frustrating both of them.

Hearing the familiar voices, caused shocked Stefan and Damon to turn around, and both of them were both shocked and extremely happy seeing the two girls they love standing infront of them.

"Fae", "Kaitlynn".

Without wasting a second, Fae ran over to Stefan and pulled him into a kiss, who gladly kissed him back.

Damon stared at Kaitlynn for a moment, wondering if she was a dream or reality.

"Are you real?" Damon asked.

Kaitlynn gave Damon a small smile, "Why don't you come here and see?".

Damon wasted no second in walking over to the Pierce vampire, and as soon as he reached her, he pulled her into a tight hug, the only way he could assure himself that Kaitlynn was okay, she was alive, and she was infront of them.

"Isn't this adorable?".

Stefan and Fae broke the kiss, and Damon and Kaitlynn broke their hug and looked towards the entrance of the living room, only to see their brother standing there, next to a smiling Caroline.

"I told you nothing happened to any of them" Caroline said.

Damon was the first one to get over his shock, he stepped forward and pulled his twin brother into a hug, "I thought I lost you" he whispered.

Brayden hugged his brother back, "I'm not leaving you just yet".

Damon broke the hug and shoved Brayden, "Where the hell were you?!" he asked, he then looked towards Fae and Kaitlynn, "Where have you all been?! Do you even realise how worried we were?!".

"Yeah, you guys might want to sit down for this" Fae said, confusing Stefan and Damon, "This is a long story".
