11. By The Light Of The Moon

"Dammit!" Fae yelled, in frustration.

"Fae, it's fine" Brayden assured, still stuck in the tomb.

"It's not fine Brayden" Fae snapped, "Tonight is the full moon, I should be able to get you out of here, but I can't".

Brayden sighed, "Fae, I'm fine" he assured.

"Are you?" Damon asked, knowing all to well his brother was anything but fine, "You refuse to let us give you any blood, because you don't want to share it with Katherine, and you also forbid Caroline, the one person who you need the most, from seeing you down here".

"It was for the best" Brayden mumbled, leaning against the wall.

"Was it?" Stefan asked, "Because it's obvious you're miserable without her, why won't you let her see you?".

"Because I don't have it in me to see how heartbroken she is" Brayden snapped, "I don't have it in me to see her infront of me and not touch her, not kiss her, I'm saving both of us from the misery".

"No, you're just adding to both your misery" Damon said.

"Can we stop talking about me and Caroline, and instead focus on more pressing issues" Brayden snapped.

"What's more pressing then this?" Damon challenged.

"Oh I don't know Damon, maybe the fact that Elena is on a suicide mission and if she gets caught by Klaus she's going to tell him about Caroline" Brayden snapped.

"Elena can't do anything anymore" Stefan assured.

"What do you mean?" Brayden asked confused.

"I might not be able to get you out of the tomb, but I was able to trap Elena in her own house" Fae replied.

Brayden looked at Fae in amusement, "You guys trapped her?".

"It's for the best" Damon replied, "Elena's on a martyr mission that is risking Caroline's life along with her own".

"And where's Caroline?" Brayden asked.

"Trying to distract herself from running over to you, by helping Tyler Lockwood through the full moon" Stefan replied.

Brayden looked at Stefan in shock, "Alone?" he asked, "She's helping Tyler all by herself?".

"Yeap" Damon replied.

"And you idiots let her?!" Brayden snapped.

"She didn't ask for our permission Brayden" Damon snapped back, "She's trying to distract herself from you, we figured it was for the best".

"A werewolf bite is fatal to a vampire" Brayden reminded, glaring at his twin.

"That's according to legend" Damon corrected.

"Which I believe" Brayden snapped, "Fae, you need to forget about about me and go help Caroline".

"No" Damon said, "You coming out of this tomb is our number one priority Brayden".

"No Damon, your number one priority should be Caroline's safety" Brayden said.

"Bray--".

"You both promised" Brayden reminded Stefan.

"Brayden if I go help Caroline, then I won't be able to get you out till the next full moon" Fae argued.

"Fine by me" Brayden said.

"That's not fine by us" Stefan said.

Brayden sighed, "Guys, I appericate you guys being worried for me, I do, but if anything happens to Caroline what do you think that is going to do to me?".

"Fine" Damon said, "I'll let Fae help Caroline and leave you with the evil slut vampire for one more month, but on one condition".

Brayden groaned in annoyance, "I'm not going to like this, am I?".

"Nope" Damon replied simply.

"Fine" Brayden said, "Say it then".

Damon grabbed a black bag from the ground, "In here are some candles, lanterns and mostly blood, picked out by your two favorite brothers".

"Damon I told you--".

"I know what you said Brayden" Damon interrupted, "But if you want Fae to help Caroline with Tyler, you're going to have to accept these".

"If I accept those, I'm going to have to share it with your ex-girlfriend" Brayden said.

"We don't care" Stefan said, "We're not going to let you desiccate in here Brayden".

"Take your pick brother, accept the blood and Fae goes to help Caroline" Damon said, "Or decline the blood and your princess is on her own".

"You're a dick" Brayden snapped.

"I know" Damon said, throwing the bag at Brayden, which he easily caught.

"You know, you guys are surprisingly calm considering Klaus will hunt you down and kill you if you mess up his little plan" Katherine said, walking over to the brothers.

"We've been dead before, got over it" Damon said.

"What's the update on the moonstone?" Brayden asked Fae, ignoring Katherine.

"Bonnie has the moonstone" Fae replied.

Brayden frowned, "Why the hell would you give the moonstone to the useless Bennett, Fae?!".

"Because Brayden, she met a warlock who knows how to destroy the moonstone, but he refuses to work with me" Fae replied.

"And none of you find that suspicious?" Brayden asked.

"We do" Stefan replied, "But he is our only lead on how to destroy the moonstone, so for now, we're going to trust him".

"Honestly, you're idiots" Brayden snapped, "Ever single one of you".

"You don't get to talk about being an idiot" Damon said, "Your idiotic plan got you stuck in the tomb".

"Alright, that's enough" Stefan interrupted, before the twins could start arguing again, "We should go now".

"Yes, please" Brayden said, "Leave and let me be at peace, oh and Fae--".

"I'll let you know how everything with Caroline and Tyler went" Fae assured.

"Thanks" Brayden said, grabbing the bag Damon left behind and walking into the tomb.

"Don't test him Katherine" Damon warned, "Because he will kill you".

Katherine smirked, "Can't wait" she said, following Brayden.

"She's going to get herself killed" Fae mumbled, following Stefan and Damon out of the tomb.

"What do you mean Brayden doesn't want you to get him out of the tomb?" Caroline asked, sitting with Fae in the Grill, waiting for Tyler.

"He wants me to make sure your safe" Fae replied.

"Fae, no" Caroline said, shaking her head, "You need to get him out of that tomb first".

"Caroline I tried, but it's really hard" Fae said, "And till I find some other way to gain more power, I'm useless to Brayden".

"Tell me he at least drank some blood, it's been days Fae, he's going to desiccate in his stubbornness" Caroline said.

"Don't worry, Damon forced Brayden to accept the blood" Fae assured.

"You and I both, him accepting the blood means nothing, he needs to actually drink it" Caroline said, worried out of her mind.

"He will" Fae said.

"How do you know that?" Caroline challenged.

"Because Brayden doesn't want Katherine to get any blood, and the only way he can do that--".

"Is by drinking it himself" Caroline finished.

"Exactly" Fae said.

"Or knowing how petty Brayden gets, he will spill all the blood on the floor, leaving nothing for him or Katherine" Caroline said.

Before Fae could say anything else, Tyler walked over to the two girls, "Hey" he greeted the two girls.

"Hey" Caroline greeted, "Tyler, this is Fae, remember I told you I was bringing a friend of mine who will help you as well".

"The vampire who turned you?" Tyler asked, making Fae look at Caroline in confusion.

"Uh, yeah" Caroline lied, "Fae and I met after our accident, she realised how badly I was injured so she turned me".

Tyler turned to Fae, "So are you the only vampire in Mystic Falls?".

"Yeap" Fae lied, impressed with Caroline's quick thinking, "Vampires don't like small towns".

"Then why are you here?" Tyler asked curiously.

"I was curious about this town" Fae replied.

"Hey, so is everything okay?" Caroline asked, diverting his attention from Fae, "When you came in you looked worried".

"Right" Tyler said, "This girl Mason knows stopped by the house, she said he never made it back to Florida, my mom's freaking out, and she was on the phone with your mom when I left, we should get going".

"Yeah" Caroline said.

Fae and Caroline exchanged a worried look, they looked towards Alaric, who was also in the Grill, all three realising the truth about Mason's death was going to come out if they didn't do anything about it.

Caroline, Tyler and Fae, got out of Caroline's car.

"Well, maybe he just, like, stopped to go surf somewhere" Caroline said, as Tyler took his bag out of the trunk, "You know, isn't that Mason's whole thing?".

"Maybe" Tyler replied, "This girl just seemed to think he would've called".

"I'm sure wherever your uncle is, he's fine" Fae said, giving Tyler a small smile, she didn't like lying to him but she couldn't just expose the brothers either.

"Yeah, anyway, let's do this" Tyler said, as the trio started walking toward the Lockwood cellar.

"Hmm, Mason's mystery women" Damon said, sitting next to Alaric at the Grill, and seeing Jules, the women who came looking for Mason from Florida.

"Yeah, where is Mason anyway?" Alaric asked curiously.

"Decomposing in his truck" Damon replied.

"Hello, boys" Kaitlynn greeted, walking over to Damon and Alaric, and stealing Damon's drink.

"Are you serious?" Damon asked, as Kaitlynn downed the drink.

"What?" Kaitlynn asked, pretending to be innocent.

"Where have you been?" Damon asked.

"Looking for Elijah" Kaitlynn replied, making Damon frown.

"And did you find him?" Damon asked.

"Nope" Kaitlynn replied, "It's like he doesn't want me to find him, anyways, forgot about my drama, lets get you out of your trouble".

"I'm not in trouble" Damon said.

"No?" Kaitlynn asked, "So you really think Mason Lockwood's mystery werewolf isn't going to cause trouble?".

"So you think she's a werewolf?" Alaric asked Kaitlynn.

"Well I hope not, being it's a full moon and all, Ric" Damon replied.

"One way to find out" Kaitlynn said, pulling a small packet full of wolfsbane from her pocket.

"And what is that?" Alaric asked confused.

Damon smirked, "It's wolfsbane" he replied.

"Absolutely correct" Kaitlynn smirked.

"Tell me you brought the instruction manual" Caroline said, looking down at all the chains Tyler brought along.

"Tell me one of you brought the wolfsbane" Tyler said.

"That I did" Fae said, taking the herb out of her bag, Tyler went to touch it, but Fae quickly stopped him, "Don't do that, you'll burn yourself".

Tyler nodded in understanding, "I got water bottles in my bag, we can mix it in there" he said

"Are you sure you want to do that?" Fae asked, "This isn't going to be easy to swallow".

"There's no other solution" Tyler replied.

"That's not true, but it's your choice" Fae said, as she bent down and took the water bottle out of Tyler's bag and put wolfsbane in it.

"Guy at the hardware store said this setup was rated up to 5000 pounds" Tyler informed, tying the chains to the wall.

"Is that more than a werewolf can pull?" Caroline asked curiously.

"I have no idea" Tyler replied.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Fae asked.

"Still human" Tyler replied, as he started to take his shirt off.

"Oh, my god, you're not gonna get naked, are you?" Caroline asked, as her and Fae looked away.

"It's elastic" Tyler replied, pointing to his pants, "What should I wear? I don't think it's like the Hulk where I get to keep my pants".

"I pinky promise to not look anywhere I shouldn't" Fae said, hoping to lighten Tyler's mood, which worked as Tyler chuckled.

"Much appreciated" Tyler said, as Caroline's phone started ringing.

"It's Elena" Caroline informed the heretic and werewolf, "I'm going to go outside and answer it, you guys finish tying the chains up".

"Aye, aye captain" Fae said, as Caroline walked outside.

"Hey" Caroline greeted.

"Caroline" Elena greeted, panic evident in her voice.

"Elena, what's wrong?" Caroline asked.

"Elijah's at my house" Elena revealed, "And he said he's not going to leave until he talks to both of us, you need to get here, now".

"Well, hello" A drunk Alaric greeted Jules, he then turned to the bartender, "Can I have a Scotch and whatever this beautiful women is drinking?".

"Oh, no, one's my limit" Jules said.

"Oh, come on, it's not like I'm a freak" Alaric said, "Just being friendly to somebody who's new to town".

"Okay, if you insist" Jules said, making Alaric smile, "How do you know I'm new?".

"Because I've never seen you here before" Alaric replied, "And I am here every night".

"That's cause he's the town drunk" Kaitlynn said, sitting on the other side of Alaric.

"Was he bothering you?" Damon asked, sitting on the other side of Jules.

"I am not bothering anybody" Alaric defended.

"Perfect, well, do it elsewhere" Damon said.

"I'll take that" Kaitlynn said, taking the drink the bartender just placed down.

"Don't worry, he's harmless, like Kaitlynn said, he's sort of, the town drunk" Damon said, gaining Jules attention, while Kaitlynn used the opportunity to spike Jules drink with wolfsbane, "And when we get tired of him, we just put him in a cab and send him to wherever he came from".

"Please don't talk about me like I'm not here" Alaric said, taking the drink Kaitlynn spiked and handing it to Jules.

"Why are you here?" Damon asked.

"He's watching you flirt and fail miserably" Kaitlynn replied, making both Jules and Alaric chuckle.

"You're not funny" Damon snapped.

"I would have to disagree on that" Kaitlynn said, calling the bartender over, "Shots of tequila please".

"Thank you for the drink" Jules told Alaric, he smiled and then walked away, leaving Kaitlynn and Damon to deal with Jules.

Brayden laid down on the bench, ignoring all of Katherine's attempts to talk to him.

"Are you seriously not going to share the blood with me?" Katherine asked.

"Nope" Brayden replied.

"I mean you're not even drinking it yourself" Katherine said, "How long have you actually gone without blood?", Brayden didn't say anything, just closed his eyes and put his arm over his head, "I know you get desiccation in theory, Brayden, but in reality, it's much worse", Katherine slowly started walking over to the middle Salvatore, "Your heart still beats, struggling to pump whatever blood remains, and when it's gone, your veins rub together like sandpaper", Katherine ran a finger down Brayden's arm, "It's excruciating", Brayden slapped Katherine's hand away from him. 

Brayden sat up and glared at Katherine, "I'm ready to feel the pain Katherine, as long as I know that you're suffering, I'm ready to desiccate".

Katherine smirked, "It's stuffy" she said, "And I've been in this dress for days, wanna help me get out of it?".

"No thanks" Brayden replied, "I have a girlfriend, who even if you tried to, you couldn't compete with".

"Come on, Brayden" Katherine said, unzipping her dress, "Don't be such a grump", Katherine slipped out of her dress, now just in her bra and underwear, "We're here together, may as well make the best out of it".

"God, you are so desperate" Brayden said, "It's pathetic, really".

Katherine glared at Brayden, "You really think Damon's gonna rush to get you out?" she asked, "He's got what he wants, Kaitlynn".

"Good for him" Brayden said simply.

Katherine walked over to Brayden, she put her hands on her chest, "Given what's most certainly going on out there, I'd say you're free to do whatever you want in here, nobody will ever know".

Katherine leaned in to kiss Brayden, and just as their lips were about to touch, Brayden shoved his hand into Katherine's chest.

"The beauty of us being in my head Katherine, is that I'm in control, not you" Brayden said, ripping Katherine's heart out.

In reality, Katherine gasped and looked at Brayden in shock, who was still laying on the bench, but this time with a small smirk on his face.

"Stay out of my head Katherine" Brayden warned, "Next time I won't just kill you in fantasy".

"There's a B & B down the road and there's a motel off I-9" Damon informed Jules, "But you know if you ask me, I think it's kind of a mistake".

"You think everything and everyone that's not you, is a mistake" Kaitlynn said, downing the tequila shots, making Damon look at her in worry.

"No frills is fine" Jules said, getting Damon's attention back to her, "I'm just here for the night, it's a long story, looking for my friend".

"Oh, who?" Damon asked, pretending to be oblivious.

"Mason Lockwood" Jules replied.

"I know Mason" Damon said.

"You do?" Jules asked shocked.

"Yeah, he's a great guy" Damon replied.

"He's missing" Jules informed.

"What do you mean?" Damon asked, pretending to be concerned, "Like, I mean, missing, missing?".

"How do you know Mason?" Jules asked suddenly.

"Yeah, Damon, tell her, how you know Mason?" Kaitlynn said, stealing Damon's drink.

"Stop doing that" Damon snapped, taking his drink back from Kaitlynn.

"Asshole" Kaitlynn mumbled.

Damon ignored Kaitlynn and turned to Jules, "Mason was a friend of friends", he held his drink, hoping Jules would drink hers, but she made no effort, making Damon look at Kaitlynn in annoyance, who just smirked and took a swig out of the bottle of bourbon she ordered.

After much apologising from Caroline, and much assuring from both Fae and Tyler, Caroline had finally left to talk to Elijah, after Fae assured she was going to help Tyler get through his first transformation.

"What time is it?" Tyler asked Fae.

Fae took out her phone, "Almost 8" she replied, "Don't worry you have a while before the moon hits its apex".

"I know" Tyler said, "Mason's journal said the first transformation can happen before the moon hits its apex".

"Don't worry Tyler, you'll only be a wolf for a few hours and then you won't have to worry about it till next month" Fae said, trying to ease Tyler's worry.

"Can you pass the water?" Tyler asked.

Fae nodded, she grabbed the wolfsbane water, "Tyler, you shouldn't drink this, it's just going to add to the pain".

Tyler sighed, he walked over and took the water bottle from Fae, "I have to, Mason said it will diminish my strength so I can't break free".

"I can make sure you don't break free" Fae assured, "Just don't drink that".

"I have to" Tyler repeated, opening the water bottle, and taking a large gulp out of it.

"Go slow Tyler" Fae warned.

As Tyler was drinking the water, he fell to the floor and started violently coughing.

"Tyler!" Fae yelled, running over to the werewolf and trying to calm him down.

"Don't" Tyler warned.

"It's okay" Fae assured.

"Don't! Just don't!" Tyler yelled.

"Tyler, you need to calm down" Fae said, "Panicking is just going to make things worse".

Tyler took deep breaths and looked at Fae, "I'm sorry" he whispered.

"It's okay" Fae assured, giving Tyler a small smile.

After Caroline had arrived at the Gilbert house, Elena quickly took her up to her room, where Elijah was waiting for the two girls.

"Oh, forgive the intrusion" Elijah told the two very confused girls, "I mean your family no harm".

"Why'd you kill those vampires when they tried to take me?" Elena asked.

"Because I didn't want you to be taken, any of you" Elijah replied, "Klaus is the most feared and hated of the Originals, but those that fear him are desperate for his approval, word gets out that the doppelganger and female soulmate exists, there'll be a line of vampires eager to take you both to him, and I can't have that".

"But female soulmates aren't rare" Caroline said, "Shouldn't Klaus already know I exist?".

"Klaus is aware that there is a new female soulmate around, but he has no idea where to find you, and I'd like to keep it like that" Elijah replied.

"Why?" Caroline asked, "Aren't you trying to help Klaus break the curse?".

"Let's just say my goal is not to break the curse" Elijah replied.

"So, what is your goal?" Elena asked.

"Klaus' obsessions have made him paranoid" Elijah replied, "He's a recluse, he trusts those only in his immediate circle".

"Like you?" Elena asked.

"Not anymore" Elijah replied, shaking his head.

"You don't know where he is, do you?" Elene realised, "So you're trying to use me and Caroline to draw him out".

"I'm not being bait" Caroline snapped.

"No one is asking for any of you to be bait, all I ask is stop trying to get yourself killed" Elijah said.

"How do I know you're telling the truth?" Elena asked, unsure on whether to trust Elijah or not.

"Well if I wasn't being truthful, your family would be dead and I'd be taking you both to Klaus right now" Elijah replied, "Instead, I'm here prepared to offer you two a deal".

"What kind of a deal?" Elena asked.

"If the deal involves me dying, I don't want in" Caroline stated.

"Both of you do nothing" Elijah said, "Do nothing, live your life, stop fighting, and when the time is right, we shall draw Klaus out together, and I'll make certain your friends remain unharmed".

"What happens after that?" Caroline asked curiously.

"Then I kill him" Elijah replied simply.

"Just like that?" Elena asked.

"Just like that" Elijah assured, "I'm a man of my word, I make a deal, I keep a deal".

"You can't be everywhere" Caroline said, "So how are you going to make sure my friends and family are going to be okay?".

"You know, I notice you and Katalina have a friend, Fae, is it?" Elijah asked, "She seems to possess the gift of magic, I have friends with similar gifts".

"You know witches" Elena realised, not even surprised.

"And together, we can protect everybody that matters to you both" Elijah said, "So do we have a deal?".

Suddenly an idea came in Caroline's head, "Not just yet" she said, "You need to do something for me before I accept your deal".

"We're negotiating now?" Elijah asked amused.

"My boyfriend, Brayden, he's stuck in the tomb, and I need you to get your witches to get him out of there" Caroline replied.

"Ah, Brayden, always getting himself into trouble" Elijah said, shaking his head in amusement.

Caroline frowned, "You know Brayden?" she asked.

"Long time ago, not that he remembers" Elijah replied simply, walking towards the door, "Rest assured Caroline, Brayden will come to you before the night ends".

"Tyler, relax" Fae said, as Tyler started fidgeting with the chains.

"I'm burning up" Tyler cried, "It burns!".

"Hold up" Fae said, kneeling infront of Tyler and putting her hands on his chest, she then started chanting, after a moment Fae opened her eyes and looked at a shocked Tyler, "How do you feel now?".

"What did you do?" Tyler asked confused, as the burning feeling reduced.

"Reduced your pain from the wolfsbane" Fae replied.

"Thank you" Tyler whispered.

"Anytime" Fae said.

"You should go" Tyler said.

"I promised Caroline I'm going to help you through this" Fae said.

"You should leave" Tyler said.

"Not yet" Fae said, as Tyler slowly started transforming, "Don't fight it Tyler, you need to let it happen, the more you fight it, the worse it's going to get".

Suddenly all of Tyler's bones started breaking, causing Fae to gasp and step back, she looked at Tyler in worry who now was crying in pain, she wished there was a spell she could use you to help him, but there was no spell that could help a wolf through it's transition.

"It hurts, it hurts!" Tyler cried.

"Don't fight it" Fae said, "Let it happen, you can't fight it Tyler".

"You know, listen, I'm really tight with the sheriff" Damon told Jules, while at the same time keeping an eye on a drunk Kaitlynn, who was now standing on top of Alaric's table and singing Party In The USA.

"I hopped off the plane at LAX!" Kaitlynn yelled, while an amused Alaric looked on, "With a dream and my cardigan!".

"If there's anything I can do to help locate Mason, I will" Damon added, "He's a great guy, after his brother's funeral, he stuck around and helped his nephew and--".

"Tyler?" Jules asked.

"Yeap, Mason was with him the whole time" Damon replied, "Helped him through all that grief, you haven't touched your drink".

Jules lifted her drink up, and looked Damon, "You know I'm not much of a drinker, not like your friend over there anyways".

Damon looked at Kaitlynn, who had now changed songs and was now signing Best Song Ever.

"And we danced all night to the best song ever, we knew every line, now I can't remember!" Kaitlynn yelled, awfully out of tune, "How it goes but I know that I won't forget her, cause we danced all night to the best song ever!".

"She's going through some stuff" Damon said.

"Aren't we all" Jules said, "Which reminds me I should get going". 

"Oh, come on, no, look, one drink" Damon said.

Jules looked at Damon, "It will help me sleep" Jules said, finally giving in.

"To sleep" Damon said, clicking his glass with Jules, and just as he thought she was about to take a sip, she slammed the glass back down.

"You fool" Jules said, "Think you're clever, don't you?".

"What do you want with Mason Lockwood?" Damon asked.

"He's my friend" Jules replied.

"Well, I'm sorry to inform you that you probably won't find him" Damon snapped.

"And why not?" Jules asked.

"You should leave town" Damon stated.

Jules scoffed, "You threatening me?".

"Hmm" Damon replied.

"On a full moon, how stupid are you?" Jules asked.

"Damon, how about that second round?" Alaric asked, coming over to Damon, after helping Kaitlynn down from the table.

"Grab Kaitlynn Ric, I think we're done" Damon said, glaring at Jules, "You think I'm afraid of you?".

"No, I don't" Jules replied, "That's your vampire arrogance, you should be, I sniffed you and your little girlfriend out the moment you two entered this bar, along with your pathetic wolfsbane, see, I've been at this at a long time, and any other night of the month, the situation would be reversed but tonight it not the night to pick a fight with me, you and your girlfriend have been marked".

Jules grabbed her jacket and walked out the Grill, leaving behind a furious Damon.

Tyler laid on the floor, semi unconscious, still in a lot of pain.

"I don't know how to help you" Fae admitted, kneeling beside Tyler.

"There's nothing you can do" Tyler whispered, slowly trying to sit up, he started yelling in pain when his transformation restarted, he looked at Fae, "Get out!".

"No" Fae said, shaking her head.

"Get out, I don't wanna hurt you!" Tyler yelled.

"It's going to be okay" Fae assured.

"Where is she?!" Damon asked, stepping out of the Grill and looking for Jules.

"Just let it go, Damon, don't be stupid" Alaric said.

"What? I'm supposed to let her just get away?" Damon asked, "Me and Kaitlynn have been marked, what the hell kind of wolf throw-down crap is that anyway?".

"Damon, look up" Alaric snapped, "Just look up", Damon looked up and realised the moon was at it's apex, "If this werewolf stuff is true, one bite and you're dead, one bite, all right? Don't risk it, just take Kaitlynn home, lock your doors, and we'll deal with it in the morning".

Before Damon could say anything, Kaitlynn came out of the bar, her heals in her hands, "All day I dream about, sex!" she yelled.

"Oh, god" Damon mumbled, walking over to the drunk vampire.

"Damon!" Kaitlynn yelled, wrapped her arms around Damon's neck, "My ex-boyfriend's, brother, want to have sex?".

"How much did you drink?" Damon asked.

"I think the whole bar" Kaitlynn replied, "So, about the sex--".

"No sex Kaitlynn" Damon said, picking the drunk vampire into his arms, "I'm taking you straight to bed".

"To have sex?" Kaitlynn asked.

"No to sleep" Damon replied.

"Together? Naked?" Kaitlynn asked.

"Stop talking" Damon said.

Kaitlynn put a finger on her lips, "I just wanted to have a drunk one night stand, geez" she mumbled, putting her head on Damon's chest and slowly falling asleep while Damon carried her home.

"It's okay" Fae whispered to Tyler, "You're getting there, slowly but surely".

"Leave" Tyler whispered.

"I'll leave in a few minutes" Fae assured.

"Just go" Tyler snapped, "Please!".

"Tyler stop worrying about me, just focus on your transition" Fae said.

"Just go!" Tyler repeated.

"Not yet" Fae said, "You need someone to help you through this, realistically it should be a werewolf, but for now all you have is a vampire".

Suddenly Tyler screamed in pain as his fangs started growing and his eyes started glowing yellow.

"Fae!" Stefan yelled, entering the cellar.

"Stefan?" Fae said confused.

"Come on, we need to go, now!" Stefan yelled, grabbing Fae's hand and running out the cellar, Fae quickly closed the cellar gate, just as Tyler tried speeding over to the the two vampires, Stefan and Fae watched as Tyler very easily broke the chains apart.

"Give it" Stefan said, taking the lock from Fae's shaky hands, and quickly locking the gate.

"I'm so sorry" Fae whispered to Tyler, as Stefan grabbed her hand and rushed her out, closing the main door behind them.

"Are you okay?" Stefan asked, checking Fae for any bites.

"What are you doing here Stefan?" Fae asked confused.

"Caroline told me to come to you, saying that you were all alone here" Stefan replied.

Fae flinched, hearing Tyler's screams.

"Hey, come here" Stefan said, hugging Fae.

"I hate this" Fae mumbled.

Suddenly, Tyler started breaking the main door apart, causing Fae and Stefan to separate.

"We have to run" Stefan said.

"But--".

"Fae, I know you want to help him, but we can't do anything when he's in his wolf form, but he can kill us" Stefan said, grabbing Fae's hand, "Come on".

And with that both the vampires speeded away, hoping Tyler wouldn't catch up to them.

After laying a sleepy Kaitlynn on her bed, Damon walked down and started checking all the locks of the boarding house, he walked into the library to see Rose there.

"Just can't stay away, can you?" Damon asked.

"Well, you don't answer your phone" Rose replied.

"What do you want?" Damon asked.

"I wanted to apologise" Rose replied.

"Just admit it" Damon said, "You don't have anywhere else to go".

"I'm sorry about Elena" Rose said, "I wasn't thinking straight, I didn't know that she had a death wish, I'm sorry, Damon, and I have nowhere else to go".

"There's nothing here for you, Rose" Damon said.

"Well, then" Rose said, just as the two vampires heard glass breaking.

The two vampires rushed into the living room, only to see a broken window, Damon quickly grabbed a sword that was mounted on the wall and started looking around for the wolf.

Suddenly, Rose's eyes landed on the werewolf, who was about to attack Damon, "Damon!" she yelled, pushing Damon out of the way, causing the werewolf to jump on to her and bite her shoulder.

Damon stabbed the wolf with a sword, causing it to run away, "How bad is it?" Damon asked, kneeling beside Rose and checking her bite.

"It hurts" Rose admitted.

"It's healing" Damon whispered shocked.

"Oh, my god" Rose cried, "I thought a werewolf bite was fatal, I thought--".

"It's not" Damon said, hugging Rose, "You're gonna be okay" he told Rose, but even if he wanted to, for some reason he couldn't believe his own words.

"Are we seriously not gonna talk at all?" Katherine asked, as Brayden sat on the floor.

"Do you want me to attack you?" Brayden asked, "Actually, let's talk Katherine, let's talk about all the miserable things you've done in your miserable life".

"What do you want me say, Brayden?" Katherine asked, "That I'm sorry for everything that I've done? Well, I'm not, okay? It's called self-preservation, I've been looking out for myself for 500 years".

"I get that" Brayden said, "I get looking out for yourself, but is looking out for yourself worth being lonely for the rest of your immortal life?'

"Yes, I've done terrible things" Katherine said, "I know that, but I do love Stefan, and sometimes you".

"Don't" Brayden warned, "I have a deep hatred for your face, and your bloodline in general".

"You don't hate Kaitlynn" Katherine pointed out.

"Kaitlynn might be your sister Katherine, but she isn't as diabolical as you" Brayden said.

"Funny how before she came back, you felt nothing but hatred for her" Katherine said.

Brayden looked Katherine, "And how would you know that?" he asked.

"I have eyes and ears everywhere Brayden" Katherine replied.

"You mean John?" Brayden asked, "Or was it Isobel?".

"Does it matter?" Katherine asked, "I just find it funny how your perspective regarding her changed so quickly, are you sure you're in love with Caroline and not Kaitlynn?".

Brayden chuckled, "You are so pathetic" he said, "You need to get a life Katherine, that doesn't involve me or my brothers".

"If get my own life, will you stop hating me?" Katherine asked.

"Nope" Brayden replied, "I'm not Stefan, I don't see the good in people Katherine, I see them for who they really are, I admit, you do care about your sister, but you care about yourself more, I wonder if push comes to shove, will you hand your sister over to Klaus, to save your own life?".

Katherine looked at Brayden, a conflicted expression on her face, "You wanna find Klaus?" she asked suddenly, "Kill him so that you can protect your precious Caroline?".

"Yeap" Brayden asked, "But don't worry, I'm not asking you to tell him where he is, I know your diabolical ass will never tell me".

"Start with Isobel, Elena's mother" Katherine said, making Brayden look at her, "She was a research expert, she found me, you're welcome".

Before Brayden could say anything, they heard a loud noise from the entrance of the tomb, Brayden quickly grabbed the lantern and went to check the noise out, Katherine following him.

Reaching the exist, Katherine gasped in shock seeing Elijah standing there.

"Elijah" Katherine whispered, frightened.

"Good evening, Katerina" Elijah greeted, "Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened", Elijah looked at Brayden, "Your release has been requested".

"By who?" Brayden asked confused.

"The lovely Caroline drives a hard bargain" Elijah replied, "However, we've reached a peaceful agreement, she, Elena and I".

"What kind of agreement?" Brayden asked.

"Caroline will explain that to you" Elijah replied, "Please, come".

"There's a barrier, I can't step out, Mr. I-Can't-Die" Brayden snapped.

"Yes, you can, I've had the spell lifted" Elijah said.

Brayden slowly walked towards the exist, and realised Elijah was right, he could step out, realising the spell was lifted, Katherine tried to speed away, but Elijah quickly blocked her way.

"As for you, however, you shall not exist until I say so" Elijah compelled Katherine, "When Klaus comes, he'll want to know exactly where you are", Elijah turned to Brayden, "You're free to go, might want to stop getting yourself into trouble Brayden, I'm not sure my brother would appericate it if he wakes up to a dead you".

"Your brother?" Brayden asked confused.

Elijah didn't say anything, just gave Brayden a small smirk and speeded away.

"Brayden, no, please, don't let him leave me in here" Katherine pleaded.

Brayden looked at Katherine, and smirked, "I don't know why but your misery always brings me so much joy" he said, before speeding away, wanting to get to Caroline.

"We should check up on Tyler" Fae said.

"It should be long enough" Stefan said.

Fae nodded and both the vampires went back to the cellar.

"Tyler!" Fae called out, standing outside the cellar, wanting to know if Tyler was still a werewolf or not.

"Fae?" Tyler whispered.

"Tyler" Fae said, opening the door and running into the cellar.

Stefan quickly took his jacket off and put it around Tyler.

"Hey, you made it, you didn't escape, you did it Tyler, you're okay" Fae whispered.

"No, I'm not" Tyler cried.

Fae looked at Stefan with teary eyes, both the vampires realised this wasn't going to be easy for Tyler.

"It's okay" Fae whispered, hugging Tyler, while Stefan rubbed an emotional Fae's back, "It's okay".

Caroline stood by her window, impatiently waiting for Brayden to arrive, suddenly there was a knock on the window, Caroline quickly opened the window and saw her boyfriend.

"What did you do?" Brayden asked, as soon as he entered the room, "What kind of deal did you make with Elijah?".

Caroline didn't say anything, just lunged forward and hugged Brayden, tightly, "You can scold me later, let me relish this first".

Brayden sighed, but nonetheless, wrapped his arms around Caroline, "I missed you" he whispered, kissing Caroline's head.

"I missed you too" Caroline said.

Brayden broke the hug and cupped Caroline's face, and smashed his lips on to hers.

"You know, I'm kind of gross, in desperate need of a shower" Brayden whispered against Caroline's lips.

Caroline smiled, "Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting, Brayden Salvatore?" she asked.

"If you think I'm suggesting shower sex, then you're absolutely right" Brayden whispered, picking Caroline up, causing her to wrap her legs around his waist, "Being stuck in that tomb has made me extremely sexually frustrated".

Caroline chuckled, "I can tell" she said.

"Shh, less talking" Brayden said, kissing Caroline and leading her into the bathroom.

A shirtless Damon, entered his room, to see Kaitlynn laying on his bed.

"What are you doing here?" Damon asked confused.

Kaitlynn looked at Damon, "I am the first soulmate, whose soulmate doesn't want her".

Damon frowned, "What?".

"Elijah doesn't want me" Kaitlynn whispered, tears in her eyes, "No one wants me".

"That's not true" Damon said, laying beside Kaitlynn.

"Name one person who wants me, for me" Kaitlynn whispered.

Damon looked at Kaitlynn, "Look around you Kaitlynn, you'll find at least one person who wants you, for you".

"I doubt it" Kaitlynn whispered, closing her eyes.

"Are you sleeping here?" Damon asked.

"Yeap" Kaitlynn asked, "But no one finds out".

"No one will find out" Damon assured, closing his eyes.

Unknown to both Damon and Kaitlynn, while they were having their moment, Rose's shoulder had become infected.
