Jace's POV
~~~~~~~~~~
Finally! The weekend has arrived and I'm free! The first week at Cerberus had finished yesterday and now it's Saturday, allowing us to do whatever. I typically spend my weekends at a club called Flame in a mall in the city. The club is built to take up an entire level and it's very exclusive so rarely any new faces show up.
The reason for the name is because during the day time this place was just a typical bar, but at night...this place becomes the hottest place to be at. Get it?...Yeah, I'll shut up. It was around 10 at night and the club was on fire! Girls wearing tight clothing were dancing around and grinding on me. I felt a random brunette run her hands along me body and I didn't resist. The lights across the ceiling were our only light in the dim club.
I continued to stay on the dance floor for another hour until I decided to get a drink at the counter. The girls seemed disappointed by me leaving but soon got over it and moved onto some other guy. God, girl's truly are sluts. They only flock to me because of my good looks, of course, but also because of the arm badge I'm wearing.
Around my leather sleeve was a black arm band that had the Cerberus symbol attached notifying all others that I am a Xorians. This is required by all Xorians to wear and was used as identification if ever needed. I sat down and ordered my drink. The bartender quickly poured it up and slid it towards me.
I caught it and took a sip. I turned around in my seat and watched girls dance the night away. After a few minutes, I noticed that a somewhat familiar face had appeared in the club. Xena had just exited the elevator that led to Flame and looked around the place impassively. I wouldn't have pinned her as the type of girl to be at a place like this.
I continued to watch her and examined her closely. She was wearing black skinny jeans and a blood red t-shirt. A leather jacket went over her shirt and black and white high tops were on her feet. A pair of black and red wireless headphones rested around her neck and her long brown hair was down as usual. The only thing missing from her outfit was the arm badge.
She looked somewhat out of place with the skimpily dressed girls everywhere but that just made her more special. With a high head and a confident appearance she stood out like a sore thumb in the crowd. And she looked beautiful. Apparently, I wasn't the only one to notice as many other guys stared at her with desire and lustful eyes.
After a while, her eyes looked over towards me and seemed to meet mine. Just briefly, for some reason...my heart felt like it stopped......Odd. I didn't think too deeply about my reaction and just kept looking at her. I soon saw that she was making her way towards my direction. I flashed her my seductive smile but she didn't seem to notice despite surrounding girls suddenly fainting.
She finally reached me and I was going to say something but she looked passed me without acknowledging my presence. Instead, she focused behind me, towards the bartender who hastily came from behind the counter and gave her a hug. I could tell she didn't like being touched because she seemed stiff and didn't wrap her arms around him. He soon pulled back and gave her smile. It wasn't a typical friend smile but a lovesick one.
They shared a few words...well mostly him, before they parted ways and she left. She turned for the elevator to go wherever the h*ll she was going and began walking away. Before I could stop myself, I called out to her. "Hey, Xena!" She must have heard me because right as the metal doors were closed, her beautiful cold eyes rested on me but then she disappeared from my sight.
I quickly finished my drink, paid and followed after. I don't know why but I couldn't stand the fact that she didn't pay any attention to me. I mean come on, I'm Jace Nova for f*cks sake! No girl can resist me. I made it into the second elevator and descended down to the main level of the mall. I looked around and finally found her in the crowd casually walking away from the elevator somewhere.
I ran and had to dodge a lot of people to catch up. I grabbed her arm but she immediately snatched it back and continued to walk. I moved to be in front of her and she finally stopped. She didn't say anything, so I spoke up first. "Hey, Xena." She gave me a simple nod and tried to get passed me but I blocked her from leaving.
I won't let her leave until she acknowledges me. She began to turn around but stopped moving when she the bartender from before came running towards her. He ran to her while yelling, "Oi, Xena!" When he finally reached her, he took out a slip of paper and held it out for her. "I forgot to give this to you." She lifted her hand and grabbed the piece of paper. I saw that their hands touched a bit and he immediately snapped his hand back.
"Thanks, Blade. I owe you one." 'Blade' began to blush at her words and began sputtering incoherent sounds. Oh, so she responds to him and not me. What does he have that I don't? I'm obviously better than him in every way yet she doesn't even spare me a glance...I'll just have show her how great I am.
My body had a mind of its own and moved closer to Xena. I grabbed her by the waist and the next thing I knew, our lips collided. If this doesn't get her attention, then nothing will. My eyes were shut closed and I slowly began to lose myself against her lips.
I tightened my grip around her body and drew her closer. I don't think I've enjoyed a kiss as much as this in a while...or ever. I continued to kiss her for a minute until I realized I was the only one actually kissing. Also, she hasn't even moved once since I grabbed her. I gradually opened my eyes and found her looking straight at me with a cold stare.
We stared at each other for a little while before she moved her hands onto my chest and her knee slipped in between mine. Hah. I knew she couldn't resist me. Nobody can. My thoughts were soon interrupted by her knee driving upwards into my...uh, delicate area, probably breaking something in the process.
As pain flooded my mind, I felt her hands on my chest shove against me causing me to lose balance and fall over. I hit the ground hard and found it hard to focus. I looked up at the ceiling while holding myself, hoping to ease the pain. I heard a distant voice coldly say, "Don't touch me. You might survive longer.", not that long after.
Her footsteps disappeared and all that left me with was the sound of the malls' busy crowd who gave me strange looks...What...the f*ck just happened? I tried to understand the events that just occurred but a voice interrupted my thoughts. "She really does have a cold heart." I looked up and saw that Blade was still standing here but was looking at the direction Xena had disappeared.
I slowly stood up after the pain had subsided and he turned his attention back at me. His once peaceful face was contorted with anger and annoyance but mostly jealousy. He turned around and walked back into Flames' elevator to continue his job. What's his problem?
After that incident, I decided to just wander the mall until curfew because I didn't feel like going back up to the club. 10 minutes had passed of girls giving me lustful stares and guy giving envious ones when I ended in front of a retro music store. I was bored so I went inside. Though I am typically not a serious person, when it comes to music, I'm as serious as you can get.
Before I was discovered as a potential Xorian, I dreamed of becoming a musician. All music created today is made with systems and holograms. There's no longer any heart in music which really disappoints me. I am one of the few people in this century that can play an actual instrument. I was lucky to have been taught by my old man before he passed away.
I walked around the shop and examined the antique instruments. I didn't know what some of the names were and luckily they had labels above them. I passed by something called a 'piano' and looked at it oddly. It's completely wood. This can't be an actual instrument.
I was curious as to how it worked so I pressed a finger down on one of its buttons and I was startled by its loud sound. Well...that's enough of that. I moved on until I had seen all the instruments. I was about to leave until a strong voice reached my ears.
I heard an electric guitar that was accompanied by someones' singing. I could only identify the instrument because I play it as well. I followed their voice until I was standing behind them about 15 feet back. I recognized the musician as Xena. Well, well. It seems she's just full of surprises today. I leaned against a nearby wall and listened to her song.
She ended her song and breathed out a quiet sigh. "You shouldn't spy." I got off of the wall and ignored her words. "Nice voice." I flashed her my signature smile but she didn't even notice as her back was still facing towards me while placing the guitar back on its' stand.
She continued to look at it for a while before turning to face me. She had a dead look on her face and her eyes held no emotion. "What do you want?" I stepped closer to her and said, "You.".........Shouldn't she be embarrassed or something. I waited for her to blush or get flustered or stutter or SONETHING!
But no, she didn't react. No blushing, no flustering or stuttering. No, she just stood there with her typical impassive expression. Finally, she spoke up, but what she said wasn't what I expected. "Is that all?" The f*ck does she mean, 'Is that all?' She should be grateful I'm even giving my attention to her instead of some other slut.
"Yes?" I was still confused by her reaction so that was all I could say. She then walked past me to the exit as if I never spoke to her. "What? You're not even going to say bye? Rude, much are we?" I said over my shoulder. I heard her steps stop and when I turned around, she was looking me dead in the eye.
"Why should I say 'bye' to some prick I don't know or care about?" Doesn't know? The f*ck?! I introduced myself earlier this freakin' week! Not even someone that I met a year ago and never saw them again in that time span could forget me! And yet, she acts like we're complete strangers to each other.
I took a deep breath to calm my thoughts before saying, "The name's Jace Nova." She began to back up towards the door again and as she was walking backwards she said, "Well, Jace, you should know one thing about me." "...And, that would be?"
"I don't take bullsh*t well, especially from a CasaNova like yourself." That was the last thing she said before disappearing out the door. She can't be serious. No girl should be able to resist me. And, Casanova? Really? Just because I play with girls and don't give a f*ck about their feelings doesn't make me- Okay, I'm a Casanova...f*ck off.
While I was on my little mental rant, something suddenly clicked. She's acting like this only to get my attention! Of course she is interested by me and is embarrassed about! I knew she couldn't resist me. It's physically impossible. If that's the game she wants to play, then I'm game.
I must have looked like a mad man with my fast changing emotions. Though there is one thing about me she should know herself. I don't plan on losing because I always play hard.
