Nate's POV

I was currently walking to lunch with my friends and bro and talking about our last class. "D*mn boy! Your a** got smoked!" I heard Jace say to Ash. He gave him a glare and walked ahead of us to the canteen. Jace looked over to us others and asked, "What did I say?"

I sighed and answered, "Just forget it." We eventually caught up to Ash and grabbed some food. "But honestly man, she really is fast." Jace continued. "I have to agree with the dolt this time, unfortunately." Zander added. We all looked at him in shock because he spoke more than he usually does, even Ash despite him being pissed. Whenever Zander talks, he must be very interested in whatever he's talking about.

After a few minutes of us eating, a random guy walked up to me and said, "Hey, Nick. There's a message from our history teacher he wanted me to tell you." I sighed. Every freaking time. I put on a fake smile and said, "Okay. What is it?" I didn't really listen after that since Nick was there sitting across from me paying attention to his answer. When he was done talking I said, "Thanks for telling me, man." He left and I turned back to the group.

It does get frustrating for people to mix me up with Nick. It's honestly just easier for me to let them believe I am him than correcting them and then telling him what happened later if he wasn't with me. And at that moment everything became quiet. I swear you could hear a pin drop if one did so. I noticed that everyone's eye were focused in the same direction so I turned to face the way they were all pointed towards.

It appeared everyone was looking at Xena who just walked in. She didn't seem to be embarrassed by the stares and walked to grab something to eat. Once she was done, she sat down at a table near the corner and began to eat. Slowly, everyone went back to what they were doing before and noise soon filled the room again.

Jace being Jace got up from his seat and began walking over to her. He dropped into the open seat next to her and said, "Hey, beautiful." With a sickeningly sweet fake smile. We could only hear him because of our enhanced hearing. Her expression didn't change and remained focused on eating. "The names Jace by the way and I was wondering if you'd like to hang out sometime."

Nothing. Not even an acknowledgment of his existence was made by her. Rude, much? Jace not seeming to get her not wanting to talk waved us over and yelled, "Oi, come over guys. She's really friendly." Friendly? B*tch as friendly as a cactus.

Ash sighed and got up. We all soon followed with Zander lagging behind and walked to go meet them. We eventually reached them and Ash was the first to speak up. "Hey, it's nice to meet you, Xena." She sighed and finally looked at us, allowing me to get a good look at her eyes. Such pretty eyes she has. But there was no light in them, like she had no emotions.

Seeing that she wasn't going to say anything, Ash continued. "Well then, my name is Ash and I see you've already met Jace." I could hear a bit if irritation in his voice because of her lack of response. "This is Nick and that is Nate, the twins." He said as he pointed to us individually. She seemed to look at us for a second as if to figure something out and then moved her gaze elsewhere. "And lastly and certainly least, Zander. He doesn't like people very much."

She did seem to be pay some kind of attention while he said our names but not really looking like she cared much. Things soon became awkward after he fell silent and we all just looked at her waiting for a reaction. She finally broke the silence by saying, "What do you want?" Her voice was absolutely beautiful but dead cold.

Ash apparently didn't seem to like her attitude because he basically yelled back, "I didn't want anything. I just thought you would be lonely so I decided to talk to you! You should be grateful I even wasted a second of my life to actually speak to you!"

All eyes were directed at a pissed Ash and nobody but me and maybe Zander seemed to realize that Xena had already left. By the time Ash realized as well, it had been a good 5 minutes since she had left. He finally calmed down by the help of Nick and Jace. It looked like they struggled a lot with that task. While I watched them converse, my mind wandered back to a pair of dazzling hazel eyes. If she didn't have such a b*tchy attitude, I might actually like the chick.

Time skip - After Lunch - Zander's POV

After our little episode with Xena, lunch ended and we headed to class. We all went our separate ways since we don't share anymore periods today. I typically am bored straight with the courses, but my next class held some interest of mine. I made my way over to the H&VD (Holographic and Virtual Design) room and noticed Xena was sitting there already looking out the window to her left. I also noticed that the other guys would take glances at her now and then which annoyed me for some reason.

The only seat open just so happened to be next to her, so I sat down at the desk and waited for class to begin. A man walked in and he set his things down on his desk. "Hello, class. My name is Mr. Leo and I will be your H&VD instructor for the year." He appeared to be the type that is really suck a** if you get on his bad side.

"To start off this year, you will create and design of any kind so I can gauge your current abilities and knowledge of H&VD. You will work in pairs that I have already chosen for you and hopefully you get to know someone new in the process. I'll be sending your partners name to your screen. Good luck." After a second a name appeared on my screen.

Great. I'll probably be doing most of the work on this project too. I turned towards Xena but saw that she was still looking out the window away from her screen. And an airhead as well. I stood up and moved closer to her. I raised my hand to touch her shoulder but before I could her hand caught mine tightly. Ow.

"What do you want?" She asked without even turning around from the window. "You, unfortunately, are my partner. I'm so sorry for trying to get your attention. Honestly, it doesn't matter. I'll just do all the work and put your name on it afterwards."

I was about to sit back down but her voice stopped me. "No." "What?" I asked. "I said, 'no'." "And what are you saying no to, exactly?" She finally turned away from the window and looked me in the eye. Her eyes...are beautiful. Hold up...beautiful? The h*ll?

"No, you won't do the work for me. I will be the one to earn my grade, not you." Well...okay. "Fine, then. Let's get to work." I sat down and created a file and began working. I almost forgot of Xena's existence until she said, "That's not correct." Over my shoulder. I heard her voice directly in my ear and my heart skipped a beat. Probably from the shock.

I turned around and found her face really close to mine. I didn't move and took a good look at her. She didn't seem to notice my stare and was focused on the screen behind me. After a minute, her eyes turned to me and my heart skipped again. The h*ll is up with my heart today?

"You made a mistake after the 3rd sequence." I snapped out of my daze and looked back to he screen. Oh. She's right. It's a small mistake but I'm still surprised she saw it. I moved to fix the problem but her hand was faster. You would have imagined that her hand moved at all if you didn't have enhanced sight. When she moved her hand away from the keys, our hands accidentally touched and I felt a small flutter in my stomach. I figured it out...I must be dying. I'll get checked out later.

Anyway, she took a seat next to me and we got to work. Most of it was completed but we just have a little bit left to do. When class ended, Xena stood up and I felt cold suddenly. I'm probably just sick. Just as she was about to walk out the door, she said to me, "I'm surprised. Your skills are not as bad as I thought." And with that she left.

Disregarding her adding a bit of an insult to her words, I was a little bit happy. Wait...happy? Why would I be happy? Her words shouldn't affect me at all. I don't even know the girl. Despite me thinking this, I had a small smile on my face. When I realized what I was doing, I dropped it and walked out of the classroom. What the h*ll is this?
