Ash's POV

I walked towards the entrance of Cerberus waiting for my idiot friends to show up. A new year is beginning again but sadly it's our last one and then we're off guarding humanity.

"Yo, Ash!"

A familiar voice called out to me and I turned around only to find my friend Jace about to jump on me while saying, "Put him in a coffin."

I was lucky I had my speed since I easily stepped out the way and let his a** drop.

He luckily saved himself before he landed on his face and recovered quite quickly. Nate and Nick, the twins, just stood on the side with identical smirks on their faces.

Honestly, if it weren't for the slight difference in their personalities, I would never be able to tell them apart myself, but even then I still have some issues with it.

And Zander was doing something on his HC (Hologram Communicator) as always being his usual anti-social self.

These 4 I met in freshman year and have practically become my brothers since.

The thing about Xorians is that they have the typical enhanced senses and abilities along with their one of a kind Legacy.

What made us special was that all 5 of us had 2 Legacy's and because of this we took Cerberus by storm and earned the title of The Five Kings.

No one has ever been able to touch our status and together we have always stood on top. Unfortunately our reign ends once this year is over so we better make it count.

"Really Jace? School hasn't even begun and yet you're already trying to kill me. I see how it is." After those words left my mouth, I quickly ducked a knife in time so it flew over my head safely.

He went to retrieve his knife that was now logged deep in a wall behind me and said, "What? I wanted to start the year off differently since it's our last. And it has been a while since I last saw you all."

I looked at him. "Boy, your a** saw us last night. Remember how you dragged all of us out because you wanted the newest Call of Duty VW (Virtual World) and forced us to play for hours straight."

"So what? It has already been 10 hours since then and I was completely bored out of my mind after you guys left."

"Well sorry for not wanting to drop dead asleep on the first day of school.

I'm sure our instructors would completely understand us wanting to get some shut eye mid class because we didn't get enough rest.

It's such a genius idea that maybe you should be the one to test it out first. Let's see how well it works out for you."

"...Sure. Why not?" ......I'm not even surprised. Let me tell you one thing about Jace is that he's the type that doesn't think anything through whatsoever.

I sighed and gave up trying. Another thing about him is that you should just give up while you're behind when arguing. You'll never win an argument with him...never.

"Anyway the opening ceremony is about to begin and you know they won't let us in if we're a second late."

And with that, we took off and ran to the ceremony hall with a literal minute to spare.

Well we ran, Zander teleported their and stood in front of the doorway standing calmly while we breathed slightly hard.

"You all seem tired. I wonder why." Zander might be anti-social but he does have his smarta** side as well. Jace slapped the back of his head and entered the hall.

We all soon followed and took our seats in the front, waiting for the opening to begin.

Our head and one of the original founders of Cerberus, Commander Noah, stepped up to the podium and began to speak.

"Future guardians of humanity, today you begin your journey of becoming a Xorian and protector of those who are incapable to do it themselves.

You are the future of this world and anyone not up to that task I have no use for you.

Only those that are brave, strong and determined have the right to call them a Xorian. Now if you feel any doubt, the door is right there."

No one moved. No one was stupid enough to walk out of this room without knowing they would carry disgrace with them for the rest of their lives.

Commander Noah waited for a minute before he began speaking again.

"I see. I wish you all a successful year of learning and training ahead of you. Before I dismiss you, I have an announcement."

I began zoning out not really caring anymore to listen. Probably going to announce the opening of a new battle ground or something.

"This year we have someone new joining us here at Cereberus. They will be joining you in training as a senior this year.

Typically we only accept you in your freshman year to train however because of their unique situation and advanced skills we made an exception for them in particular."

Ok. That is odd but not weird enough to really care.

"Now without further stalling, I would like you to meet Xena Aurora Storm."

The name didn't even have time to register before a bright light suddenly covered the stage and blinded our eyes. I moved my hand to cover my eyes and waited for the light to fade.

Once it did, I removed my hand and looked back at the stage to see what happened. It took a second to understand what my eyes were seeing and finally a thought filled my mind. What?
