I finished my pastry and wiped my fingers on my trousers. Jimmy immediately dragged me off the floor and pulled me to the wardrobe.
"You need to change out of... that." He gestured to the stained white shirt I had on and the dark blue trousers that were very creased.
"Fair point." I said, biting my bottom lip. He scoured the wardrobe, looking for the cleanest clothes I had. Or the most posh.
He eventually pulled out a pair of royal blue trousers, a light blue shirt, and the royal Rivendale robes. "Go change. I'll find something green in here." He smiled.
I pulled on the clothes he picked out. They were a bit baggy on my now, as I hadn't eaten a lot recently. But they still fit.
As I walked out of the bathroom, Jimmy thrust a brush into my hands. Now, it wasn't any brush. It was a makeup brush.
"One, clean up the bags under your eyes. Two, you need to do the traditional makeup. So, chop chop. Meetings in an hour." He said, pushing me into the dresser chair.
I sighed. It had been FOREVER since I had done the Rivendale makeup, and I wasn't sure how it went. I just winged it, knowing the only person there who would care would be Xornoth.
I finished the eyeliner and set it down. My hair was then attacked by a brush, manned by Jimmy. I let out an involuntary, surprised scream. That caused Jimmy to laugh.
"Calm down, Petal. Your mop needs care." It is very unbrushed. Surprisingly, Jimmy was very gentle with my hair, and he even plaited the ribbons into it. The traditional ribbons. The ones even I forgot about.
I stood up, still towering over him. He was so short! Anyway, I pulled him into a hug, burying my face in his shoulder. The soft scent of his hair was a blessing.
This was the way it was meant to be.
Just me and Jimmy. No one to tell us what to do. Just us. Just his warm body next to my cold one. Just us.
Alas, he pulled away again. I felt a warm, stupid smile emblazoning my face and I swiftly changed it to my signature, stone cold expression.
"Aww. I really liked that smile." Jimmy smiled, causing my face to turn a deep scarlet. "But come on, we're gonna be late."
He dragged me away, out the window, and onto the balcony. I took the hint and scooped him up into my arms. I started the long-ish flight to the Grimlands for the meeting.
It started at 10am.
It was currently 9:47
It takes about half an hour to get there.
We're so gonna be late.
I touched down in Eastvale at a quarter past 10. 15 minutes after it started. Smoothing down my luscious cyan locks and straightening my windswept robes, I started the ascent up the steps to fWhip's castle, Jimmy following a few metres behind. If I was going to be late, I had better do it fashionably.
I flung the doors to the meeting hall open with a flourish, a smirk wide on my face. "Sorry, am I late?"
Cries of "Finally!", "Yes, you are!" and "Where's Jimmy!?" echoed around the large meeting hall. I didn't pay attention as the scattered cries all fell into a search for Jimmy. My eyes were instead trained on the violet haired elf sat directly across from the door. My eyes were deaf to all words but his voice.
"'Ello, sunshine."
"'Iya, big brother."
"Is it done?" he asked. Rather than answering, I beckoned Jimmy in. Xornoths face turned from a smirk to a scowl so fast, if you blinked you would have missed it. "Why isn't it done?"
I sighed before placing Jimmy's hand in mine. "Because... because I love him."
