4.

I led Jimmy up to... my room, I guess. I don't really sleep a lot, though. Being an assassin calls for a lot of nighttime endeavours.

He sat himself down on my bed, smiling. I bit back an angry retort and smiled back.

"Nice room." He said, clearly trying to start a conversation.

"Do you want anything to drink or eat?" I asked, keeping the fake smile plastered on my face.

"Oh, uh, hot chocolate, please." He smiled. Of course, he would want a hot chocolate.

I sped down the stairs and walked to the kitchen, pulling open the cabinet and taking out a pot. I started making the hot chocolate for the both of us, thinking about how Xornoth would react to me doing this. Would he be appalled or proud?

I grabbed the two mugs I had set on the counter and poured out the hot chocolate, grabbing a pack of cookies from the side and walking upstairs.

I pushed the door open and saw Jimmy sitting on the bed still. He smiled widely as he saw me and gladly took his steaming cup of hot chocolate.

I clutched at my own and sat down beside Jimmy. He took a sip and his eyes lit up. "This is the best hot chocolate I have ever had!" He smiled widely at me and I felt my face heating up.

I smiled back, attempting to stop the blush creeping up my face. No. You're here to kill him, not like him. "Do you wanna watch something?" I said, feeling my face heat up.

"Sure!" He smiled, laying his head in my shoulder.

Time seemed to stop. Everything was perfect. My heart fluttered. No, don't get attached. Scott, you're here to murder him!

Then time resumed, and I found myself gazing down at Jimmy, blush creeping across my face. I shook myself slightly, trying not to fall for him.

We just sat there, not even turning the TV on, just enjoying each others company. Kinda.

I turned my head down to him, and he looked at me. I gazed into his chocolatey brown eyes, my heart beating fast. He looked into my icy one's. We were nose to nose, our fingers interlocked, our lips almost touching.

I felt my lips brush against his, then a bang at the door brought us apart.

I turned my head, and there stood my brother, framed in the doorway, a fire of fury in his eyes.

"Out. Jimmy, leave." I said, my head snapping back to Jimmy. Fear danced in his eyes as he sprinted out of the door. I stood up.

He advanced on me as soon as my body rose, a blackened finger pointing at my chest. "What the HELL are you playing at?"

"What ever do you mean?" I said, keeping my anger inside and showing only my signature calm and collected nature.

"You know what I mean." Xornoth said, his growl low with anger.

"No, I really don't." I smirked. This only angered him more.

"Why were you nearly KISSING HIM?" He screamed, which only caused my smirk to widen.

"Because I'm getting close to him. Idiot." I said, anger threatening to break through my voice.

"At this point, I may just kill him myself..."

I pulled my dagger out on my pocket  holding it to his chest. "No. Don't you dare! He is mine."

"If it gets the job done." Xornoth replied, a smirk on his face.

I threw him against the wall, anger coming out. Icy magic spiraled around my arms and my hands shook as hard as my voice. "Don't. You. DARE!"

"I WILL DO WHAT I HAVE TO TO GET THE JOB DONE!!" He yelled.

"AND I'M DOING THAT JOB JUST FINE." I advanced on him now, dagger in hand.

"THEN WHY ISNT HE DEAD?!" Xornoth retorted.

I didn't respond immediately. Instead, my dagger rose like a baton and found ita mark. Xornoths neck. I didn't push it in too far because suffering has always been my forte.

"Because I'm playing the long game."

"WELL THEN SHORTEN THE MATCH!" He screamed at me, which caused the blade of my dagger to cut deeper into his neck.

"This is my job, brother." I said, my voice laced with malice, "And I'll play it how I please."

"S-Scott..."

I whipped my head around, my eyes landing on Jimmy, his brown eyes, full of terror, trained on the dagger at Xornoths throat...
