"How does one even scare oldboods?"

"WHAT?!" RASKEI blurted out surprising herself with how loud she sounded, which was strange for her usually calm self, but in this predicament, she couldn't care less for how she sounded.
Her heart was a deep pound within her as she stared at the dark boy before her pacing around the length of the library row in the chamber.
A tight look was wedged across his features as he glanced over at her, frustration seemed to be oozing within him.
His dark features and hair glistened lightly in the light of the small bulbs stationed in the dark row furthest away from all the others, folding his arms with a short sigh, jaw clenching.
"Yes, she was there," he stated.
"How?" Raskei gritted out, this time regulating her tone though her eyes were still as wide as saucers, "How the hell was she there Harvest?" her breathing was more spaced, and her heart had an irregular beat within her.
"The horn, ofcourse," he growled back seemingly even more annoyed at his answer, "she just appeared in the middle of the forest, and don''t ask me how she did it, you know it would only work for her according to her desires- I don't know why she would want to be in a dark forest after it bloody rained, " he ranted off, releasing a melted breath.
"Are you sure she didn't see you going in?" Raskei asked, rather impatiently, eyes flashing to him, trying to read his stoic face.
"It was raining, bloody hell, I could sense her in her room-" he paused, eyes flashing back to Raskei, "does it even matter if she saw me or not, how does that solve the problem?" he huffed, exasperated, eyes narrowing on her.
Raskei shrugged carelessly, yet her eyes revealed mischief, and her tone had a low playful glint, "Oh I don't know," she replied folding her arms, " I mean you stare at her all day-"
Harvest scoffed at this
"What makes you think she doesn't?" she finished.
Harvest rolled his eyes at this, "Ofcourse she does, it is hard to not notice those magnetic-" he cut himself short as she raised an eyebrow, clenching his jaw, " I know what you're trying to do, but that's far enough," he grunted, returning to his pacing about, " there a bigger problem here. The fact is she was there," he stormed, "and-"
"and what?" Raskei asked, back to her her heart racing.
Harvest's eyes snapped back to her, "the old bloods," he stated, with a short huff.
Raskei cursed harshly underneath her breath, eyes shifting to the ground, cursing yet again, her jaw tightening as she took a deep breath, taking a step closer to Harvest.
"Is she dead then?" she asked slowly.
Harvest's eyes flashed back to her, "No." he stated sounding a mixture of disbelief at the question, but his answer was firm.
"She saw the old bloods, right?" Raskei confirmed, her eyes following him, each word gritted out.
Harvest nodded, jaw ticking but remained silent.
"And I know, I just know you didn't let them get to her if she's still alive. But those Ancients wouldn't back down from a free meal like her. They must have sensed Armor's blood in her a second in," she added, snapping her fingers to show the effect of how quick.
Harvest took a breath out, glancing back up at her from hooded eyes, but said nothing to confirm or deny, yet this was more of a confirmation than any for Raskei.
"If she's still alive, then you saved her," Raskei added, working things out, though her breathing seemed to get raspier and raspier, "and if you did, then she saw...something." she finished, eyes steady on him.
He searched her eyes for a moment before nodding, allowing a breath to escape when he spoke slowly, "they came with Mannagals," he stated," I burned them,"
Raskei tried to calm her harsh breaths, nodding for him to continue, though she dreaded where it was going, "and the old blood? You didn't kill them right? That's a whole race- races," she rephrased, "connected to one," she added, her tone skipping, "you cannot-" she shook her head, feeling a certain nervousness inside her.
"I did not-" Harvest cut, eyes narrowing down at her, sounding quite offended she had thought he did, but didn't seem to care as much as he looked away from her, "I wanted to, I was close..." he trailed off before signing, " but I just scared them off," he added, his tone lower.
"How does one even scare old bloods?" Raskei grunted, eyes searching his face as he looked back up at her raising an eyebrow, and she groaned shaking her head.
"Their souls," she shut her eyes for a moment, folding her arms, taking in a shared breath before looking at him, her eyebrows arching slightly confused, "how did you even summon them from your fathers-" she paused, before shaking her head, "no- don't tell me," she grunted massaging her jaw, darkly chuckling for a minute before sobering up, her eyes hardening, "okay-" she stated, "where do you have her, and how are we going to kill her?" she asked.
"Kill her?" Harvest echoed, sounding unimpressed,
"Kill. Her," Raskie annunciated firmly for him.
Harvest's jaw ticked, but relaxed his shoulders, "why are you so adamant on seeing her six feet under when as I recall, you were the one who wanted to spare her life? Didn't you call her innocent?" he huffed.
"That's what she was, but now she's a threat." Raskei gritted out tone slightly rising, "Ofcourse I did not want her dead. She is a rarity that should have been spared," she explained eyes meeting him, "and for the love of the fallen, I didnt think she would know what she knows now, you were only meant to let her live- but now," she trailed off shaking her head.
There was a silence between them before she looked back at him, her tone low this time.
She's seen enough to not only destroy all our plans but- to CONDEMN you-" she spoke, searching his eyes, "if she tells the prime, HE will know you are, HE will come for you, and he will not spare you," she stated, her throat dry, eyes dropping to the pendant around his neck, swallowing momentarily, "I have nothing against innocence, but if it becomes a threat, if it means your life or hers...rest assured my loyalty lies with you Harvest, and right now, you are very much at risk," she finished.
His jaw clenched at the statement, a hollow feeling dawning inside him, "If I'm still here-"
"then we still have time to do what needs to be done," Raskei finished, getting up, "I'll make it quick."
"Stop it, we're not killing her," Harvest gritted out, sounding harsher than he had intended, but caught himself. slightly retreating, putting a hand in his coat with a sigh, eyes looking back at Raskei.
"You know who she is, not just any death is going to be believed," he grunted, "and she's more valuable alive to us, she is still part of the plan," he explained.
Raskei paused at this, nodding after a while, her fingers rattling against her folded arms, seemingly thinking, "And her memory?" she began causing his throat to dry.
He remembered the moment, knowing he could not reveal the reason why he hadn't done it.
For a promise he had made to her? Or was it something deeper?
"Did you not think of erasing her?" she asked, this time she actually sounded curious as she studied his face.
"Of course I did. I just didnt get the chance, after she saw everything, she used the horn again- before I could get to her, Gavis did," he lied through his teeth, but remained calm as he explained, watching her rise in reaction, "she left with him, and he must have given her something, because I can't get close to her," he finished the last part lower than the rest, his tone sounding more displeased and frustrated.
Raskei's eyebrows arched, "he gave her something? Do You think he knows that-"
"If Gravis had even the slightest idea of what I was, HE Would be here, and I- would be dead," he countered brushing it off, "He came looking for her, gave her something and that's why I can't get close."
"What do you mean you can't get close?" Raskei asked, eyes narrowing on him.
He let out a short breath, silence hanging around them, " I can't. get. close." he replied firmly, "there's a barrier around her, a protection spell."
"How close?"
"3 feet."
"A protection spell?" Raskei huffed, "My curses and spells are strong, but what could she possibly have that is capable of keeping even you away?"
"It's ancient," he stated, eyes on her, " it's meant for beings like me."
Raskei's breath hitched, but she remained calm, "What is it?" she asked slowly.
He shook his head, "I couldn't see it, but I could feel it- and it won't let me near," his jaw hardened at this, before looking away, breathing out harshly, "I need you to find what it is, if I know what it is, I can get her to take it off," he stated, "you can get close, I can't."
Raskei nodded at this, "ofcourse," she replied, but her eyes flashed back to him, still not convinced, "but time, Harvest, any moment she could tell something to someone," she reminded.
Harvest's eyes met hers, his dark blue orbs had an emotion she couldn't decipher, "I told her Wouldn't hurt her, and somewhere deep inside of her, she believes it."
Raskei scoffed at this, "That's not something that can't be changed in an instant."
"if she hasn't already told Gravis by now, with so many chances she's had to do so, then she isn't going to tell him now," He gritted out.
Raskei watched him for a moment curiously but nodded, "Let's not risk it for longer than we should, I'll find what it is, and then you will have to erase her memories of it."
Harvest didn't reply but the chamber walls morphed to the slighter less dimmer effects of the library lights, Harvest watching as she walked away.
He gritted his jaw for a moment as he watched her leave, before walking off further into the library.
