I WALKED THROUGH the doorway of my classroom, actually glad that this time everything was back to normal.

No desks were piled at the back of the classroom and no chairs missing. Everything looked ordinary, and I was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

I didn't think I was in the mood for another one of Miss Almulese's class exercises, especially after I had quite miserably failed the first.

Moving to my seat by the window, I made myself comfortable. I jotted a while in my notebook as I waited for our Prime to grace us with her presence.

This was the first poem I was writing since I got my new notebook, but I was in a state where I didn't feel anything which was kind of weird for me.

I wasn't angry or upset, neither was fear coursing through my veins as it usually did.

Nope, here and now the right word to say was I felt peace.

Maybe it was from looking down at the layout of Kingsland from the Library top, in the fresh air and gentle sunshine.

Whatever it was, it had left me feeling quite wholesome.

I wrote down a few words until the whispering in the class suddenly went silent. I looked up and watched as Miss Almulese walked into the classroom, her signature pet running after her before taking a leap in his designated area on her desk chair, tucked away and out of my line of sight.

I scoffed at this.

I had been giving it the staredown as it seemed to me we had some kind of beef going on from the time he prevented me from switching my stones.

My eyes trailed to the four students that trailed after Miss Almulese, dressed in their uniforms and standing at the front of the classroom, eyes darting momentarily over us, their audience.

They stood in equal pairs, one girl one boy, with the boy holding a cup, and in the other pair, the girl holding the cup.

I couldn't quite see the substance from here, but I did notice all their bands were orange.

"Welcome to our Afternoon Red's color class," Miss Almulese greeted, our eyes watching her every move.

I was particularly fascinated by the hairstyle she chose today, as it looked as if her dreads had been plaited to form some kind of crown in the front whilst the rest dropped down her back in an elegant flow.

She was also wearing a longer dress which looked more like a robe.

A deep dark black that only intensified into a weird but interesting look.

"We gon' carry on with our chats 'bout de Double E, de elementals an' Energies form of magic. Last class, y'all needed to tap into de higher plane an' activate de energy form, movin' one element from one instance of origin to de next specified interest," she acknowledged, her hands moving along to all that she was saying.

"Today, we gon' be experimentin' with de basic elemental components of de Double E form of magic," she continued, turning to face the four girls whose eyes lingered on her for a while, as she presented them.

"I done brought these young ones from Cycle 518, scatterin' 'em across different classes. De reason bein', they not too green to know how to wield their dilect to de max, yet not too seasoned dat' they be entirely comfortable with their powers," she paused turning to face us.

"In essence, dey should be well-trained to grasp de fundamental principles of their elemental powers, which dey gon' demonstrate to you now," she wrapped up giving the floor to the first girl.

She glanced over at Miss Almulese, only taking a step forward when she received a go-ahead nod, walking right into the center of the class.

The girl raised out her palm and instantly a dim burn of a glow danced across the palm of her hand whilst we all watched on in intrigue at the sight.

"Fire, the most benevolent element," Miss Almulese began as the soft glow of the fire gradually grew until it was burning in her hand and yet not burning her at all,

"That's right there 'is the most basic form of flame elemental magic," she began, "conjuring a flame out of the higher plane," she began her eyes trailing into the fire, "Summon de fire, wield de heat, for though it can wreak havoc, it also be bringin' warmth and light. Dis magic be raw, holdin' both positives an' negatives, all at de mercy of de user," Her irises flicked in the reflection of the fire, before snapping her finger and the flame went off almost automatically.

The girl looked at the palm of her hand.

"You may retain your position, Meredith," Miss Almulese gestured, and the girl moved back to her seat, and soon after A boy followed her, this time with a cup in his hands-

"You may begin, Loki," Miss Almulese began.

He looked down into his cup, his free hand tracing around the rim of the class until I heard a low humming coming from somewhere and a low ringing as if it had been a wine glass he had used, instead of the plastic cup he was holding.

I watched in utter curiosity as suddenly a little stream of water drowsily rose from the cup., his movements around the cup gradually got faster and faster until the water gathered around in a big blobby scene, taking the form of a mini hurricane in a cup and I watched with wide eyes when he stopped his movements and yet the tsunami in a cup twirled around like it was the small entrance to the Bermuda triangle.

It suddenly moved from the cup, twirling in mid-air and we all watched in awe.

"Water, de' second element and the direct opposite of de Fire Element. Equally as powerful," she huffed, "it is important that you adapt to the basic control of this element. To shape it at will, as well as to bend it and acquire it- it will be needed in dire situations to come," she replied, before Loki returned the water into the cup stepping back.

The third student who had another cup in her hand moved to the center stage and passed it, standing in front of a table, where a boy was leaning.

He removed his elbows off the desk, leaning back in his chair and looking at her strangely as she poured the contents of her cup on his desk.

It was a small pile of rich dirty brown sand.

"Watch and learn, children," Miss Almulese reminded us as the girl began to control the specks of sand, commanding them to move to one side of the desk and the slide to the other until they were making a sort of wavelike movement, rocking back and forth.

Wow, that was such a cool power to have.

"Earth is the third element, one that is everywhere around you. It is easy to spell but harder to control. Some of you may not ever be able to control the earth element by the end of your colors courses,  but in time, you will learn," she finished as we watched the girl finally detail her grains of sand back into the cup that she held over the edges so that they rolled back to her.

She took her cup and went out to the front of the classroom.

The last boy got to the center, looking at Miss Almulese for a second who gave him an approving nod.

"Wind," the Prime explained as we watched the boy breathe out harshly into his cupped hands which he held close together before finally opening them and we were able to see the airball that circulated in his palm, taking the shape of a sphere.

He blew on it and it immediately floated out into the classroom like it was a balloon or something, even though we could see the particles moving around in a circular motion.

I watched in intrigue at the ball not paying as much attention as I should have to what Miss Almulese was saying about the Wind elementals, only catching signs along the lines of

-dangerous as well as difficult to master.

I was snapped out of this when Class was finally over for the day.
