~ Chapter 17 ~

~ Garroth's POV ~

We had left Hetra maybe twelve or thirteen hours ago.Since then we had been following Angela, who seemed to know where she was going.
Maybe she had discovered she had magicks while we were in the Irene Dimension.

Those with magicks could normally sense other people who had magicks.

So maybe that was what she was doing.

We kept moving for another hour before we set up camp next to a river.Aphmau was still setting up another tent for the group while Katelyn was trying to start a fire.

I was sitting next to Angela, both of us fishing. The ground beneath us rumbled and shook again, but everyone managed
to keep their balance and the tents somehow didn't fall to the ground.
We just continued to work.

Angela sighed softly, breaking the silence between us."You ok?",I asked, looking at her and she hesitantly nodded her head.
"I'm just...worried about the village and Liza....and everyone else.I'm worried about everyone here as well.",The female next to me spoke softly, looking over at the river as she spoke.

Her eyes shifted over to me for a moment or two before she looked back at the river.

I understood where she was coming from, since I felt that way at times when Aphmau was off on trips or even when she was there.
It was sort of stressful.

However,Angela was the lord of a much larger village than Phoenix Drop.
She was the lord of a village the size of Scaleswind, which was quite impressive honestly. It amazed me how she managed to run a village as big as that, but still be able to have time to herself.

She didn't seem to be stressed out while she was in the village, however, she could be hiding how stressed out.
You never really knew.

"It's natural for you to be worried about everyone. After all you are a lord, and rightfully so you should be worried and concerned about your village.",I replied and she nodded her head in simple reply.

"You know, even though you aren't a lord, you're as wise as a old lord in my opinion.",She said and laughed a bit.

I laughed too and she then reeled in a piece of leather with her fishing rod.
That made me laugh too as she made a face, sighed and then threw the piece leather away from where we sat as I laughed.

"Stop laughing!",She said and I shook my head as I chuckled.
A moment later I reeled in a fish and Angela shot a look at me once I reeled in a fish and put it in the basket that was on my right, while Angela was sitting next to me on my left.

"I hate you.",She stated jokingly, however it sounded serious as she then looked back at the river,a determined look on her face."You love me~.",I whispered in her ear after I leaned over a bit to be closer to her.

~ Angela's POV ~

I blushed lightly before I hit his shoulder."Back it up,you creepy old man!",I replied to him,Garroth barking out laughter.

I suppose he found my reaction funny.

Katelyn looked over at us and cocked an eyebrow."What are you two love birds going on about now?",She asked bluntly and Garroth's face went beet red at Katelyn's words.
"Katelyn,go cuddle with a cactus.",I replied before I threw a small pebble at her,Katelyn catching it in her right palm.

She chuckled and then dropped the pebble on the grass before she continued to tend to the fire.

After awhile, both Garroth and I managed to catch two fish and we headed back inland towards the fire.
Katelyn quietly cooked the four fish while Aphmau,Garroth, and I chattered lightly.

I didn't know Katelyn very well, however she seemed to be one of the more quieter and serious people, that is if you couldn't break past her cold shell.
It was a little interesting really.

The night was rather peaceful and pleasant.
Aphmau and I took first watch while Garroth and Katelyn slept.
I swore Katelyn watched us for the first hour before she went to sleep.
Though,I didn't say anything.

"So,you have magicks....?",Aphmau asked, being the first person to say anything since Katelyn and Garroth fell asleep.
".......I do.Do you have magicks Lor- I mean Aphmau?",I replied, almost calling her 'Lord Aphmau'.

It was a habit and I hadn't broken that habit even after fifteen years had passed."...I think I do.And why I say 'I think I do' should be a story left closed until I would like to talk about it.",Aphmau replied and I simply nodded my head in reply."It's fine Aphmau.Though,if you do want to talk about it,I'm here.",I said in a gentle tone as she nodded her head.

The rest of the night was a blur.

After a while hours,Katelyn and Garroth woke up and let us go to sleep.
Aphmau passed out the moment she laid down.
She must have been more exhausted than it seemed like.

I remember laying down and then passing out.

Though,I remember waking to the sound of swords clashing against each other.I sat up groggily, reaching for my sword as my eyes began to adjust to the light of morning.

Once my fingers brushed over the hilt of my sword,I grasped ahold of it and I stood up.
A few bandits were in our camp.
There was seven of them in total and there was four of us.
We seemed to be out numbered, but I knew we would be fine.

Garroth,Katelyn, and Aphmau's attention was captured by the bandit they were fighting with.
That left four bandits I could deal with.
One of them came running towards me once they saw I was awake.

They were going to tackle me,using their weight to their advantage.

I slid to the right, the bandit unable to come to a stop before he face planted into the ground as he landed.
With one swift kick to the head,he was out like a light.
"One."

Another one was making an attempt to attack Aphmau from behind.
I moved over to him, slipping behind him and grasped ahold of his neck, tossing him to the ground once I had pulled him away from Aphmau.
He scrambled to his feet and made an attempt to strike at me.
However, his dinky dagger was more like a fork rather than a knife.

I slid to the left and moved behind him rather quickly, pulling him into a headlock with one arm.
I used my free hand to curl up into a fist only to knock him out with it.

"Two."

Katelyn had taken down the bandit that had dared to challenge her.
She then looked over at a bandit charging towards me.
A moment later I found myself on the ground,a fresh cut now along my cheek.
I hissed out between my teeth and Katelyn kicked the idiot off of me,swinging her fire fists, knocking out the bandit.

While I was watching her,I was able to see her fists turn into balls of fire for a split second.
It was a short, but amazing spectacle.

"Three."Katelyn stated simply with a slight smile before she pulled me up,wiping the shallow cut on my cheek with some sort of cloth.
A moment later she was down on the ground, having had been tackled by what seemed to be the leader of the group.
Aphmau and Garroth had finished their bandits off and were walking over towards us or rather they were jogging since their fights had been taken towards the edge of the area where we had been camping.

~ Aphmau's POV ~

Angela had moved to pull the leader off of Katelyn, the leader almost knocking her off of her feet when he made an attempt to grab at her ankle and pull her down.
She had managed to slide out of the way before he could even touch her.

Something odd occurred within the next two minutes that passed.
Time seemed to slow a bit as I watched her.
I was making an attempt to pull Katelyn away from the idiot that had tackled her, however Angela had already formed a plan it seemed like.

Her fists turned into blocks of ice and she slammed them into the sides of the bandit's head.
A moment later the bandit fell back, knocked out completely.
He would be sporting a few bruises later.

She cracked her knuckles as the ice blocks melted into water,"Four."
Garroth approached us after he took down another bandit.
He then spoke up after Angela,"Five".

Katelyn had stood up before she and Angela turned around swiftly.
Two bandits were charging at them.
Quickly, the duo's feet collided with the bandit's face.
The bandit's groaned and then fell back, knocked out.

However their noses were more than likely broken.

"Six."

"Seven."
