The first day at camp a boy caught Veronica's eye. He had caught her eye with his pretty blue eyes and brown hair with just barely a dash if blonde natural highlights.

Her cheeks flushed of all color and couldn't imagine being in the same group as him for the next two weeks.

The counselors took them to the place they would be sleeping in and the boy was in the room next to hers.

The group had to go up to some one of the opposite gender and introduce themselves. So he went up to her and said

"Hello my name is Alec Montgomery and your madam?" he had a southern accent. That made her weak in the knees and she responded.

"My name is Veronica McCarthy and it is very nice to meet you sir." He kissed her hand and put it down gently careful not to make it smack.

He slightly bowed and said "Where are you from Ms. Veronica?" with a sweet smile on his face. "I am from Wisconsin and you Alec?" she responded very shyly.

'He is a gentle man as it seems right now' she thought.

After that exchange she had to go and introduce herself to other people. Every once in a while glancing at her fellow southern camper and excited that she gets to spend the next two weeks getting to know him better.

I wonder what surprises these next upcoming weeks have instore for her. Then at lunch and dinner he seemed to always sit right next to her.

She was always smiling or laughing at his wild stories and corny jokes.

"Hey veronica guess what the corn on the cob says when you compliment it?" he said and she responded" I don't know what the corn on the cob said." and barely containing his laughter said" it says awe shucks".

He busted out laughing waiting for veronica to catch on with the word play. Then she started laughing to and tried to stop when all the rest of the group looked at them. Putting his arm around her shoulders and held her close to him.

He hugged her from the behind and had his head in the crook of her neck feeling his warm forehead sitting there and he was trying to stop laughing at whatever he found so amusing.
