A camera? How long has it been there?
Things seriously can't get any creepier.
"We'll contact your mother, Kentaro. Unless you'd like to inform her of the current situation." Shion said, turning around to face him on the other side of the door.
Kentaro had to play his part in his plan. The good guy. "Please... tell her for me. I can't even utter his name without being frightened and disappointed..." He plead, and the man nodded. "Very well. Let me know if anything else comes up."
"I will, and take care of my big brother for me..." The detective's facial expression changed, he wore a look of surprise. 'I thought they were twins...' He didn't want to pry or get involved just yet, he decided to wait.
"Alright, I'm off. The girl should be fine also, Jyugo didn't harm her. I told her to contact her parents and go home, but she insisted on staying to speak to you." With that, Shion tipped his hat and placed his hand in the pocket of his trench coat, walking off to his car. Kentaro's smile wore off once he was in his vehicle, grinning.
"Humans are easy creatures to deceive." He muttered, closing the door behind him. (Y/N) was still in his home, shaking to death. She just wanted to chat; to talk, nothing more. Surely he'd let her go the minute she wants to leave.
'Maybe I should've just left when I had the chance... God, (N/N), you're so dumb!' After scolding herself, she stood up and headed for the door, ready to grab the handle.
"My little butterfly~ I have a gift for you!" He chimed. Even though he was in the living room, she could hear him rummaging through a bag. Instantly, she retracted her foot, walking back.
She ended up sitting back on the bed awkwardly, holding her wrist.
He was nearing the door. The closer he got, the more she wanted to run.
After three knocks, the male entered the room, hiding something behind his back.
"Ready love? I think you'll love the gift I have for you." It was safe to assume the opposite.
"W-Wait! Before you show me, I want to ask you something..." (Y/N) said, standing to her feet once again.
"Remember when you said Jyugo raped his ex? Well, I was wondering if it was true..." The male took a moment to himself, then chuckled.
"Yeah, no. Sort of. I mean, it happened in middle school. He liked a girl, but she had a boyfriend. He was always so sad, though he never showed it." Kentaro closed the door behind him before getting closer, tapping his lip. He seemed to be remembering the incident.
"Oh, right! It was after school. The both of them were on cleaning duty, but Jyugo had left to the storage room. I believe I had snuck in and threatened her with a knife."
(Y/N) observed his expression as he said this. He was as calm as a cat, which wasn't odd, comparing to his brother.
"I only did it to make him happy, also to make a deal with him. That was when I decided to find girls to like online, through a video game of some sort. I told him I'd let her go, and he could do whatever he wanted with her. In exchange, he had to find my targets."
"Targets? What do you mean? D-Do you kill people?" She asked for reassurance.
"No, why would I do that?" His question seemed genuine and honest, it was a reaction she hoped for.
"(Y/N)... You really are a dumb girl. Did you honestly think I was in this alone?"
"What do you mean?" She asked in response, curious as to what point he was trying to get across.
"Did I ever seen different to you? Sort of like a different person? Someone I reminded you of?" As he said this, he fiddled with the, "gift" stored into the bag.
"Well... Yes, you reminded me of-" In fear, disbelief, and defeat, your eyes began to water as your hands covered your mouth. Kentaro saw your reaction without having to look up, listening to you finish. "Your... Brother..."
"Has it not occurred to you that we switch places? I mean, he's like that and I'm like this. Just think about it." He didn't have to mention that, your brain was already putting pieces together.
'Who was who? Which one did I actually meet first? Which one was I actually more fond of?'
Was the one who saved me from that teacher was Jyugo?
Was the person texting me Ken?
Was the guy in the alleyway my first time seeing Jyugo in person?
Who was I actually playing BGE with...?
"Don't worry, you met Jyugo first. But behind a screen of course. As I said before, he was the one finding my prey."
Just before she sighed in relief from getting one question out the way, Kentaro brought his arm forward, hitting the object he meant to hide on the door knob.
Inevitably, the thing rolled out of his reach and onto the floor. (Y/N)'s eye began to twitch in disgust, ultimately overwhelmed.
Her heart began to pound every second her eyes remained on the thing, and her anxiety made her turn a blind eye to the man in the room.
“Oops, sorry about that. I didn't mean to lie! Did you want to hold it?” He asked oh so casually, and it was sickening.
(Y/N) was internally conflicted, thinking about her next move; what was to turn away and puke, or try to make it past him and through the door?
“Do you like my gift that much to the point you’re speechless? I knew you’d want to see your best friend again!” He smiled.
“It-Its... Narumi...” With a toothy grin, the male shouted, “Bingo!” Before approaching her. Her instincts told her to dodge, and that’s what she did.
“Y-You killed Narumi and she had nothing to do with this! What the actual hell, Ken?!” She decided that biting her lip and tucking in her tail wasn’t an option anymore: she had to retaliate.
Kentaro’s face twisted into dismay, coming to a pause. “What? She’s not innocent, she started following me since she thought I was Jyu. Then, she threatened to separate us by calling the police. You wouldn’t want that, right?” He asked, picking up the dismantled head by her blonde hair.
(Y/N) took a step back and towards the left, ready to take off for the door. “I don’t love any of you! You and your brother are sick freaks! And why... does it have to be me of all people?”
He brushed back his silky brown hair before raising his shoulders to shrug. “You just so happened to be the girl Jyugo found first online. But I feel like you’re different, like we have more of a special connection, you know?” She shook her head at his words, glaring as he played with her friend’s dead head. It made her sick to the stomach.
“I suggest you answer wisely, or else you’ll end up like this...” He smirked, raising the head. ‘He’s bluffing. It’s totally a bluff, right? He likes me, so no way could he-’ “You think I’m kidding, don’t you?”
The throbbing in her heart stopped. It felt like it hadn’t beaten for a good minute. “You think I actually won’t kill you? Why not? Aren’t I scary?” His footsteps towards her started once more, but this time, she could hardly move around him.
Once his fingers reached out for her, she lifted her hand, slapping him in the face. Once the stinging began, she jolted her foot up for his crotch, kicking him with brutal strength.
With a grunt, he sworn in excruciating pain, watching her make a dash for the door. “God, why the hell did I do that?! I’m definitely dead now! Wait, no (Y/N). You’ve got this. Just avoid him.” She tried to reassure and encourage herself, but that didn’t help her racing heartbeat.
“That... was the last strike. I tried, but you keep pushing it.” He muttered, gathering to his feet after collapsing.
Once she made it to the door, (Y/N) frantically pulled on the door, hoping to unlock it someway. But that didn’t work. “Why’s there no lock on this thing?!”
Chills shot down her spine after hearing his shouting and groaning down the hall, and began to panic. “I need a key...”
Those very words made something in her mind click, remembering something she wish she hadn’t forgot, considering the predicament she’s in.
To her surprise, it was still in the pocket of her skirt, since she thought she had dropped it somehow along with her phone. “Please, work...”
After rushing to put the key into the door, she finally inserted the metal thing, gulping down some hope and faith.
It turned—it could turn—and it unlocked. ‘Is this... What Jyu meant? Is this why he gave this to me...?’
(Y/N) couldn’t help but smile, feeling regretful for saying what she did earlier.
Kentaro heard the wooden door click, and sped towards the door. “Dammit.” He mumbled, opening the door after arriving seconds after. His red eyes shifted from left to right, closing the door behind him. He knew where she planned on going, and planned on stopping her.
(Y/N)’s walk down the mountain's lengthy road was long and tiresome, but was able to catch a bus. Paranoid, she started to gnaw and chew on the nail on her thumb, tapping her foot.
‘I have to tell them Jyugo is innocent!’ Well, that wasn’t entirely the case. Plus, she had no evidence to back the statement up. ‘I have to save Seiji first...’
Yeah, right.
