I Walk Alone
Signe sat outside of the shelter despite the heavy rain pouring down on her and watched the sun rise, it's warm gentle glow somewhat comforting. She shivered in the cold, hugging her arms close to her chest.
It was early in the morning and everyone else was still asleep, a soft chorus of snores emitting from their sleeping forms. Her mind kept replaying yesterday's events, preventing her from sleeping at all. She could remember Sean's expression when she snapped at him, but what hurt the most was that he didn't look sad about the untrue things she said about him.
He looked like he expected it.
"You doing okay?" Molly rested a hand on Signe's shoulder. She jumped in surprise, biting her lip to keep from screaming and waking everyone up.
"You should get out of the rain, I don't want you getting sick." She offered her a weak smile.
Signe didn't bother replying and instead let out a deep sigh, her shoulders slumping as the rain soaked her clothes and her hair, making it stick to her skin. Molly sighed as well, retreating back inside and muttering something to Wade.
"I'm going for a walk." Signe decided aloud, standing up and walking away from the shelter. Her mind flashed back to when Sean walked away from her without a glance back, the sound of his footsteps retreating and-
"Stop it." She muttered to herself. She would find him again, and he would be fine...right? She still doubted herself.
"I walk this empty street, on the boulevard of broken dreams." She sang quietly to herself.
Signe was grateful for the rain, mainly because her hair was tied in tangled up knots and was getting very greasy. She tilted her head back and opened her mouth wide, extending her tongue to catch a couple of the raindrops on it. They tasted good.
Suddenly from not too far away, she heard a scream that she recognized instantly, making her heart seem to stop.
Sean.
She took off in a run in the direction from where the sound came from. She watched from behind an overturned car as he was held by a person dressed in all black. They stuck a needle in his neck, injecting him with some kind of liquid, making his yells cease as he collapsed unconscious in the arms of his captor. Before she could step out of her hiding spot, she felt something slam into the back of her head, making her fall unconscious just before she hit the ground face first.
Meanwhile, no one else knew where she went.
"Maybe she went to use the bathroom?" Mandy suggested hopefully.
"She's probably looking for Jack." Ethan thought aloud.
"Lets go find her, then we'll come back and have breakfast. Sound good?" Bob said. No one argued with him.
"I wish I knew how to help her." Molly admitted to Mandy as they walked behind Nate, Ethan, Bob, Wade, and Tyler.
"Me too." She agreed with a huff of irritation.
"Do you think Signe will be alright?" Tyler asked Nate.
"There's no one left here to hurt her." He shrugged in reply.
A scream interrupted their conversation, the source sounding close by. Without hesitation they dashed towards the sound, making it in time to see Signe being picked up bridal style by a person dressed in all black. There was a black van parked close by him, Jack's unconscious form visible from in the trunk.
"Hey!" Molly yelled, catching their attention. They seemed to ignore her, placing Signe in the back of the van by Jack after handcuffing her hands and feet as well as Jack's.
As the group surged forward to rescue their friends, the figure casually dropped a grenade shaped object on the ground.
"Get down!" Tyler yelled, worried that it was a grenade. Instead of an explosion, a cloud of smoke covered over them with a hiss, making it difficult to see or even breath. One by one, the figure stealthily knocked each person out until only Tyler was left since he was able to find a way out of the shroud of smoke.
"You're a fighter huh? That'll be helpful for later." The person said, the voice disguised to sound low and robotic like a creepy version of Siri. Faster than Tyler's eye could follow, the figure stabbed a needle into Tyler's neck, injecting a liquid that made him feel dizzy and drowsy. The last thing he saw before he passed out was the figure lifting him up and throwing him into the back of the van, closing the doors behind him.
When Jack woke up, he couldn't see anything, making him worry that he was blind. He blinked a couple of times, but it didn't help.
"Hello?" He called out, his voice raspy from lack of use and water. He only heard his words reverberate back.
"Hello Sean McLoughlin." Jack stiffened at the voice.
"What do you want?" He asked tersely, wishing he could move his arms. He could feel the metal bands restraining him to the table.
"It's not what I want, it's what she wants." A dim light flickered on overhead, allowing Jack to somewhat see his captor after his eyes adjusted. The black mask was gone, revealing the person's face.
"Felix?"
