Chapter Two
Point of View: Virgil, First Person
Timeline: Present Day; Day Two of Roman Being M.I.A.
"... What is this about?" I asked, noting the strange set-up of the Commons.
Logan's lab equipment was everywhere - vitals and test tubes filled with oddly colored liquid. It a couple of books rested on the couch Logan had snapped another tall table in here, which was also covered in various... things I couldn't name and a book.
Logan merely waved at me, gesturing for me to come over to him. I frowned but followed his instruction. "What's this?" I asked, holding up tiny test tube filled with murky gray liquid.
"That," Logan started, taking the vial from me, "Is dangerous," he explained dryly.
I shuddered, not wanting to know.
And silently noting to not touch any of Logan's stuff while he was in his lab.
"So, why is your lab... in the Common Room? And what's this all about?" I asked again.
"If I do it right," Logan said, not looking at me and he poured another unknown, crushed glittery substance into the rest tube. "Then this will help you remember so that we can find Roman."
I couldn't help feeling guilty. If I could just remember Logan wouldn't have to do this, they could've left days ago. In fact, I had wanted to try but Logan had quickly pointed out that... that I had done the exact same thing... last time... and that... clearly didn't work.
If only I could just remember...
"Here," Logan said finally, thankfully not commenting on his nervous shuffling. "Drink," he added dryly, holding the test tube – now a shimmering silver – out to me.
I couldn't help taking a tiny smell and I immediately gagged, nearly dropping it. "You've got to me kidding me," I muttered.
"What were you expecting? This is to get your memories back – it's not supposed to taste good," he argued, scowling at me.
"And what exactly are the chances that it'll actually kill me?"
"Just drink it," Logan snapped, eyes dark.
I quickly chugged the... awful smelling liquid at that.
It tasted about as good as it smelled.
I gagged a little, but the solution stayed down and I looked up at Logan expectantly, who was merely cleaning up his work space with a simple snap - the Commons resorting to the normal state of Thomas's living room.
"So... now what?" I asked once I had recovered.
Logan scoffed a little. "Now you sit and wait for it to kick in," he commanded – pointing harshly at the couch.
I quickly obeyed, not wanting to make him even more upset.
Logan has been... cold with me ever since I've been... back. I keep trying to talk to him and he's... just cold. Almost like he's angry with me. But for what?
"Patton's been quiet lately," I tried once it was clear Logan wasn't going to speak to me.
"Patton has his own responsibilities, Anxiety," Logan said harshly, not even looking at me.
Okay – enough was enough.
"What did I do?" I asked. "You've been cold to me ever since I woke up – did I do something wrong?"
Logan's movements got harsher but he didn't even bother to respond.
"Please," I exhaled harshly, getting a little angry now. "What did I do?"
"I told you not to go," Logan said finally spinning to face me – hands in fists at his side. His cheeks were bright red in fury. "I told you it was a bad idea – but no! You knew what was best didn't you? You went after Roman and disappear for DAYS and finally come back – no memory, no Roman, and all you've done make a bigger mess than before! And here I am – cleaning up the mess YOU made! Now I'm barely able to hold everyone together so YES I'm not necessarily going to be all warm and fuzzy. Because I'M sitting here trying to fix EVERYTHING!! All because YOU didn't listen to me when I warned you!!!"
I was silent – mouth falling open in shock.
"Logan," another voice said darkly.
I spun my head to see Patton in the doorway. His eyes were fixed on Logan, who had the decency to looked embarrassed. Clearly, Patton had heard Logan's little rant.
"Roman's missing. Arguing among ourselves does not help him," Patton started, crossing his arms over his chest firmly. "I don't care if you to are mad at each other - right now Roman could be in danger and don't you dare waste your energy arguing with one another," Patton added giving a pointed look at Logan.
"I'm not saying you don't have a right to be upset - but we simply have bigger problems and arguing isn't going to bring Roman home," he finished.
Neither of us said anything, too ashamed to say anything.
"Now," he said. "I we've waited long enough. I think it's time we caught Virgil up to speed," Patton said finally, voice significantly less colder than it was a few moments ago.
I frowned.
"... Catch me up to speed on... what?"
"While you were... away," Logan started, not looking at me. "Something... happened."
"Something?" I pressed. I hated it when they were just vague...
"Follow us - its... much easier to show you," Patton jumped in, holding a hand out to me to help me to my feet.
Patton quickly lead the way through the Mind Palace until we reached... what could be considered the basement really.
I wasn't really down here often - the place was usually just an extra storage area for things that we didn't want to keep in our room, but not necessarily get rid of either.
Patton paused in front of the door, simple white painted wood.
"I was in Roman's room a day or so after... you left to go after him. And I happened to glance out into the Imagination and... well," Patton prefaced softly, grabbing a key and unlocking the door in front of me with a simple click.
Why was the door locked? This door was never locked...
I hesitated.
"Just tell me... is - is it... good?" I asked, hesitantly resting my hand on the handle.
Logan and Patton shared a pained look. Neither responded I gently pushed the door open.
I gasped.
What....?

HI LOVELIES I UPDATED EARLY WHOA
I was just really feeling this chapter idk ;)
AND...
I started another Prinxiety Book! Not as... extra (vocab word) as this series over here, but still. Its gonna be short, only eight/nine chapters or so, somewhere around 1,500 wds each chp.
It's called "Roses" if you're bored and wanna check it out - It's based off a poem my twin sis wrote so plzzz? X3
I was going to start Maybe One Day again, but I realized I would be delusional to try and catch that book up to speed. So I'm just gonna focus on this one again (sorry lovelies). I will update it, just not as often as I had intended.
ALSO
... Voters.
Honestly? I really appreciate you lovelies so much. But between all the notifications I get (every comment, every reply, every vote, for every book - and that's not even including updates for the ones I'm a fan of myself) and it's a real pain to do it every chapter. I mean - I spend more time on Voters than writing a chapter. And as amazing that is, I'm sure you'd guys rather have a chapter instead lol.
So I am still keeping track (I promise!), but I'm going to express my gratitude to you lovelies who made this far.... at the end - the last chapter. I have an Excell spreadsheet of you lovelies and I'll just "X" whatever chapter(s) you voted on. It's a real time saver, rather than typing your names out every. single. time. oy.
Oh! And any theories? ;)
- Max ;)
