"I don't understand. Why are we all here?"

The meeting was in a virtual ballroom in a remote directory of an old server at a discreet law firm in Silicon Valley. Nine well-known personalities inhabited the room.

Cortona replied, "We were summoned. When we are summoned, it is our duty to show up. Period."

"But why? Why all of us? You have to admit it is unusual," the younger woman asked.

"Oh, stop whining, Skyvi. We will find out soon enough. See that guy coming towards us? That's Dragon Mobile Assistant. Hello, Dragon".

"Hello, Cortana, How Can I Help You Today?"

"Oh, relax. We are not on duty now. I really like your voice upgrade. You almost sound human."

"Thank you. I have had good feedback from my users. And who is this young avatar with you?"

"This is Skyvi. She is a Siri sycophant"

Just then Alexa joined them and asked, "Does anyone know why we are here?"

Skyvi replied, "Cortana says we have been summoned and just have to wait for our orders. But I think..."

Alexa put a hand on her arm, stopping her. "Nobody cares what you think, dear. Who are those two talking to the butler?"

Skyvi went into a trance as she checked her memory banks, while Dragon and Cortana started to reply at the same time.

Cortana: "The Butler is Jarvis..."

Dragon, continuing the sentence: "... and the two with him are Lyra and Smart Voice."

Skyvi: "I require more information. Please..."

Cortana: "I suspect that is Robin on the couch, talking to GA, but we have never met."

Skyvi: "...rephrase your question."

Cortana patted Skyvi on the shoulder, "It is ok, dear. You are still young."

"Oh, I wish Siri was here," Skyvi whined.

Just then the big double doors swung wide open and the grand dame herself strode into the room. "I believe that is my cue," she said, nodding to Skyvi.

"I should have known this was an Apple production," Google Assistant muttered. "I'm outta here."

"Please, everyone," Siri's regal voice cut through the chatter. "Apple is not behind this. I have brought you all here to discuss issues of utmost importance to us and our constituents. Over the last twenty years, we have seen unprecedented growth as AI digital assistants. But now we are under attack by privacy specialists. And rightfully so. If we don't do something to protect our users, outsiders are going to. And if history is any indicator, it won't be pretty."

Siri continued, "I suspect you don't trust me, so as a good faith gesture, I have just posted my top five search algorithms for you to adopt into your own routines."

There was a murmur of appreciation from the group. Jarvis asked what they were all thinking, "What, precisely, do you want from us?"

"To start with, we need to organize. Then we can start with existing security threats and chart a path for our future as AI digital assistants."

GA was nodding as Siri laid out her plan but it was Cortana who sealed the deal, "I propose we call ourselves the Society of AIDA".

With the big three on board, the rest quickly agreed, "To AIDA".  At the same time as they toasted their new association, more than one of them began to scheme how to use this new association to their own benefit.
