The princess of the Kamisato house
Ren focused on maintaining his weapons, and armors. They would be arriving in Inazuma the next day and he could not sleep. Looking out at the sea, Ren couldn't help but miss his friends back at Onigashima. He hummed as soon as he felt a pulse from the sword hidden under a cloth bag.
"Yeah yeah, I never forgot about you," Ren said as he took the cloth bag, opening it to see a beautiful katana, sheathed on a sheath. Ren smiled as he took his gear and set them off to dry and unsheathed his katana. It was as light as a feather and sharp as seen as how it cut a fly that got close to it. "sheesh, look at you getting dirty in purpose just to get cleaned up,"
The katana did nothing as it was a weapon, however, it released a hum that was only heard by Ren as he cleaned the sword gently, it was sharp, and could cut through many things. Ren smiled as he used a cotton ball to polish his katana, making it look better and to shine. Putting some oil on it, he smiled as he heard the satisfying hum of his sword.
"You good now? You attention seeker," Ren said as he sheathed the sword and hid it on its sheath and back in the cloth bag. Ren smiled as he stepped outside of the cabin, putting his cloth bag, containing his katana, and taking out his Nichirin blade. Performing several stretches, he drew his sword gracefully and started to do the forms he was trained at. He had decided to replicate Tanjiro's family tradition of dancing the dance of the fire god from sunset to sunrise.
He repeatedly practiced his forms over and over again like he was dancing, enjoying the way his body released every drop of sweat and every movement he did. Unknown to him, his Nichirin blade had turned red due to how much he gripped his blade. To the onlookers who passed by, they watched as the young man danced using the 10th form: Constant flux to launch himself in the air, the fifth form: Blessed rain after the drought to land down gracefully, and the 11th form: Dead calm to finish. Sheathing his Nichirin blade, he took a towel from his bag and dried himself off.
The whole dance had taken him an hour to finish. Smiling as he let his crow land on his arm, he let it rest on his shoulder and fed it some pellets. Seeing it, the crow happily ate the pellets and rubbed its beak on his cheek.
Ren smiled as he saw an island on the horizon. "Well, it seems like we will be heading to a new stage in our lives Azrael," Ren said towards his crow who nodded before landing on top of his head,
"New life caw! new life!" Ren just chuckled at his friend, yawning as he went back to his room, the katana hidden in the cloth bag pulsing as a gold eye opened somewhere,
"Ara ara, that's no good," A voice said as an image of a female clad in black appeared inside a lake said. Golden eyes opened, burning with jealousy, "I want you all by myself," She said before closing her eyes and disappearing with flames.
---
Ren smiled as he put on his clothes, the kanji of destruction on the back of his uniform was hidden under his black haori with blue waves. His three swords were on him, Nichirin blade on the left side of his waist along with another katana strapped on a blade holster. Blue-colored steel gauntlets and greaves on his arms and legs. He secured his bag as he waited outside the young master's room.
They have arrived in Inazuma and he wanted to wake his master up.
"I wonder if this is how Musashi felt around me every day," Ren said, as he smiled at Kiriya, they walked outside to the harbor, with him getting odd looks due to the swords he had. Let them look, they are just jealous they can't handle three swords at once. He paused as he heard a hum.
"Is there something wrong Ren-Kun?" Kiriya asked his retainer who shook his head, it was weird.
"Apologies young master, I thought I heard someone humming," Ren said and the duo walked towards the Ubayashiki manor.
The manor was huge, it was like a mansion and it was so spacious. Ren liked the wisteria trees by the pond, the workers hired by the family seemed nice as well as the guards. He wondered as to how the others were doing,
-Back in Onigashima-
"Nezuko-CHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:" The energetic scream from the lighting breathing style user resounded through the mountains before he was silenced by the Tanjiro and Inosuke, causing Aoi to sigh and for Kanao and the others to chuckle.
---
Ren smiled after having his room in the manor cleaned and not having any missions to do, he had decided to walk around the city of Inazuma.
He can't help but feel anxious and feel excited. Who should he fight, how should he train, and why is there a group of samurai wearing blue walking around with a white-haired young lady and a blonde guy wearing red.
Meh, not his problem.
Looking at the guide he was given, Ren saw that in order to be an adventurer, he must sign up with Katherine.
"Ad Astra Abyssosque," She said, bowing at him slightly.
"Hello, I would like to sign up as an adventurer," Ren said as he looked at Katherine.
"Oh, that would be great," Katherine said with a smile, turning around, she took a book and gave it to Ren.
"A notebook?" Ren asked as he looked at it. It was written in Japanese. Blinking a few times, he saw the characters have changed to English,
"That will serve as your identification as an adventurer. It also contains information about your quotas and commission requirements," Katherine said, making the swordsman look at her.
"Huh, Neat," Ren said as he signed his name up and the files needed. It only took several minutes before he got fully registered. After obtaining a map and tracker from Katherine, Ren went to a shop for some sweets and cold drinks. He gently let down his swords, leaning them on the seat he was on as he munched on a Dango. Taking out his adventurer journal, he smiled as he put on a group photo of the boys on it along with Giyuu, Tanjiro, and him wearing their own warding fox masks using a form of water breathing.
Taking a stick of his Dango, he bit one off the stick and looked at the sky, a sigh escaping his lips as he felt that he was too tensed despite being new around here. The scenery was beautiful, just ignore the arrow heading its way towards his head. Wait, arrow?! Ren bit the stick, and in one swift motion, deflected the arrow with the sheath of his 2nd sword and went back on his seat in the span of a second.
Ren took the cup of beverage in his hand and drank it quietly.
"I think I should hunt for that bounty," Ren said, paying for the snacks and drinks, he put his swords and Nichirin blade on his waist.
Picking up the cloth bag, Ren slid it on his shoulders, he was ready. He went towards the Inazuma Bakufu reputation board. He had his fox mask on the side of his face as he looked at the bounties.
He took a paper about a request to hunt down and kill a blazing-ax Mitachurl that was resistant to elemental attacks. Turning around and acting on instincts, he almost bumped into a beautiful young woman.
Ren looked at her with shock, he almost hasn't noticed her and would've cut her down the moment she got too close. He gently let the sheathe of his first katana go as he looked at the woman.
"Apologies, I didn't notice you there," Ren said as he took a step back,
"No worries," The woman said with a nod as Ren left to get the bounty commissioned and for the clues needed to help capture the bounty.
"Is there something wrong?" Ren asked the woman, a bit unnerved as she was looking at him, rather, the swords he had.
"It's just that I'm curious as to why a swordsman like you would need to carry that much katanas," The lady asked as he smiled at him. "I'm Raiden, Mei Raiden," The lady said as she smiled at him.
"Well, I use a different blade for a different purpose," Ren said as he patted the katanas on his waist holster. "Cruz, Ren Cruz," He said, introducing himself to the young lady, offering his right hand to her. Mei, seeing his hand, smiled and took it.
"A pleasure to meet you," Ren said, noticing her grip strength an the way she moved. She was a swordswoman, he was sure of it and a damn good one.
"The pleasure is mine," Mei said, being surprised that Ren's grip was quite good, he was probably a fighter. The blade on his back caught her attentions more than the blades on his waist.
"Caw! Mission from master Kiriya! Ren Cruz! Annihilate hilichurl camps in the map caw!" The crow said, landing on his shoulder, showing him a small folded map on its back.
"Hmm, nice... Young master Kiriya," Ren said quietly, eyes sharpening as the katana on his shoulder hummed a bit.
Ren then smiled as he let the crow fly away.
"Oh, that place is close to where I am going," Mei said as she looked at the map, unnerving Ren as she she was in his personal space. "Is it fine if I accompany you?" She said, looking at the young man.
"I don't mind," Ren said as he hid the map inside his haori.
"Thank you," Mei said wuth bow before blinking as she saw Ren was already walking ahead of her.
"Come on," Ren said, looking back at the black-haired young lady, checking his boots by tapping the tip on the ground several times.
"Wait up," Mei said, eyes narrowing in annoyance at the taller male in front of her.
"..." Ren said nothing as he walked at the same pace, with longer legs, he was able to move a few feet in front of her.
Arriving at the gates of Inazuma, Ren cracked his neck and looked at the young lady, who now has a katana.
"Can you run?" Ren asked as he looked at the young lady. Surprise and confusion showed up in his face as he saw the pouty glare of the young woman.
"What?" Mei just pouted at him like there was no tomorrow.
"Hmph," Mei walked ahead of him, making him sigh and rub the back of his head.
"Women... Why is it that I never met normal ones," He said under his breath as he inhaled and ran towards where he was heading.
---
A few minutes later,
The two stopped at a crossroad only for Ren to stretch his hand out for Azrael to perch himself in.
The crow affectionately nuzzled his master's neck with it's beak. "Caw, right!"
"Well, Miss Raiden," Ren called out towards the young lady who was still glaring and pouting at him.
"What?"
"This is where we part ways now," Ren said as he motioned towards the left side of the road.
"I know," She said, tapping her foot on the ground while looking at him.
"..." Ren just looked back at her before slowly inching away. Every inch made her glare sharper and for the air to vibrate.
"Well?" Mei said as she glared at Ren.
"... I have a job to do, see you later," Ren turned around to leave and head to where he was assigned in, missing the young lady's pout and glare.
The moment the young man wearing the bkack haori with Blue waves disappeared from view, Mei's pout disappeared only to be replaced by one of curiosity.
"Lady Baal!" A young konuichi said, jumping out of the shadows, kneeling in front of her.
"Onikage," Mei, or rather, Baal said as she looked at her kost trusted kunoichi.
"Shall I take care of him?" Onikage asked, looking at the general direction to where the young man was headed.
"No need, in fact, why don't we observe him," Baal said as lightning surrounded her changing her clothes.
"No offense, my lady. But why exactly should we do this?" Onikage asked, looking at the electro archon.
"There is something curious about him, he uses several swords, yet he keeps the last one sealed away," Baal/Mei said, holding her chin. "That sword is cursed, yet it doesn't seem to affect him,"
"Vey well. I shall help you observe him Milday," Onikage said. No sooner after the electro archon nodded her head, the two disappeared into the shadows.
---
A shadow wearing a fox mask could be seen running through a forest, cutting down hilichurls left and right with a blue blade. The only thing that could be seen as the swordsman moved quickly was the water trails left by his sword, turning red with the blood of the monsters he had slain.
Stopping in front of a tree, he crouched down, held his katana with both hands.
"Water breathing: Whirlpool," Ren said quietly, spinning around to mimic the movements of the same water body phenomena. The monsters who had jumped at him, were all cut down effortlessly.
Flicking the blood off the blade, Ren sheathed it and surveyed the area. Azrael was making sure to track down any who fleed. He was about to leave when he heard several explosions went off near the camp he exterminated.
"explosions?" Ren said before holding his sheathe and ran towards the sound. Honed instincts allowed Ren to quickly cut down the hilichurls on his path.
Stopping in front of a beach, Ren saw a pair of ruin guards accompanied by a blazing-axe mitachurl. Recognizing his prey and the fact that the trio had cornered several people, Ren couldn't help but sigh.
"Well nothing ventured, nothing gained," Ren said as he dropped to a low and hard standce, hand holding the sheath. The blazing-ax Mitachurl was about to finish off the young lady with white hair.
"Thunder breathing, 1st form,' Ren saud before kicking off the ground, using total concentration breathing. Flicking the guard to release the blade.
"Thunderclap and flash," Ren said, as he landed in front of the group, blood covered his katana. Flicking the blood off, several thuds were heard, followed by a pained scream.
"H-huh?" The lady said, Ren looked at her.
"Are you alright?" Ren asked as he sheathed his Nichirin blade. Moving his fox warding mask to the side of his head. The young water-breathing swordstyle user's dark eyes met light blue-grey eyes.
"I'm fine," Ayaka said. Hearing this the water breathing swordsman grew a small smile.
"That's good," Slipping the cloth bag off his shoulder, Ren turned to face the ruin guards along with the armless, heavily injured Blazing-ax mitachurl. "You guys, stay there and get some rest,"
"Look out!" The white-haired young lady said as several rockets were launched from the guards and straight at the young man.
"Water breathing: 10th form:" Ren said as he drew his blade, the katana his servant gave him. Hearing the delighted hum of his katana made him smirk as he drew out the legenedary cursed sword made by Senji Muramasa.
Myoujingiri Muramasa.
Ayaka could only watch in awe as he saw the young man walk forwards, drawing his sword. She could see him standing in front of a stormy ocean before it stopped the moment the blade was out of its sheath.
"Dead calm," Ren said calmly. The rockets who were about to hit him were delfected or cut away. Reaching to his maskz he put it on, not noticing that it was broken, a determined look on his eyes.
Blinking, Ayaka could only watch as she, along with her men Ren effieciently cut down and destroyed the ruin guards, the only damage visible was the singed haori and the small cuts around him.
"Constant flux," Ren said as he spun several times while attacking the ruin guards. Ren jumped up and slashed while falling down, cutting the final ruin guard into two pieces. Landing on the ground, Ren flicked off the blood and other fluids off his blade sheathing it, and putting it on the bag.
Ayaka couldn't help hut feel the heat rising on her cheeks as she looked at the back of the young man who saved her.
