Chapter 37
No One's Point Of View
Happy flew around trying to spot his two partners. He was worried about Lucy, she just ran out of the guild, almost crying. He spotted the two under a tree. Lucy was asleep with her head on Natus’s chest. Natsu just stared up at the sky. Happy landed near them and walked over to Natsu.
“Is she ok?” Happy asked.
“Yea, just some bad memories came up.” Natsu rubbed the exceed’s head. Happy sat down next to Natsu and looked up. A scream ripped through the air. Both Natsu and Happy jumped. The scream had come from Lucy who was now sitting up with tears streaming down her face. She had her hands in her hair as she cried. Natsu pulled her into a hug as Happy placed his paw on her leg. Soon Lucy’s cries went quiet. Her eyes were closed as she tried to get rid of the memories.
Celeste stood there watching Lucy as she trained. She was happy with the outcome of her train. To the two it has been years of training but to the outside world, it's been 7 days. Celeste made it so that the time in the cave would go faster than the outside world. She had to stay hidden or she would put the people and herself in danger. Lucy smiled at Celeste and Celeste smiled back. Celeste saw Lucy as her own daughter as Lucy saw her as her second mother. Celeste's smile dropped when she felt her magic sphere disappear, Lucy stopped as well. They both looked at each other when they could hear the multi footsteps heading in their direction. The room soon filled with guards, all from Dark Night. Celeste shifted into her dragon form and they both started fighting the guards. No matter how many they took down more came. Soon it became too much. They were able to knock Lucy to the ground. They tied her up and put a knife to her throat. When Celeste saw this she stopped fighting. Lucy heard someone shout kill her. Lucy tried to stand up but was pushed to the ground. Next thing Lucy saw was Celeste’s head hitting the ground, blood poured from a deep gash that went from her neck to her stomach.
“I'm sorry, Lucy.” Was the last thing Celeste said before closing her eyes and exhaling her final breath.
“Celeste,” Lucy screamed with tears streaming down her face. She felt her magic coursing through her veins. Her body shook from the sobs. A magic circle started to form under Lucy and got bigger. Soon a blinding light shone covering the whole cave in it. Once the blinding light dims to nothing, Lucy looks around. All the guards had turned into golden statues. The ropes that blinded her were gone. She stood up and went to the first guard she saw. As she grew closer she could see some sparkle on him. She placed a hand on the guard and it crumbled to the ground in a pile of gold dust. Lucy gasped and looked around. ‘I killed everyone.’ Was what she thought. She ran out of there, dodging all the guards. Tears still streaming down her face as she heads into the forest.
Natsu heard footsteps to his left. He turned and saw the rest of his team.
“Are you guys ok, we heard a scream?” Erza said.
“Yea, Lucy screamed in her sleep,” Natsu said.
“How about you guys go home?” Gray suggested. Natsu nodded and picked up Lucy. He put her on his back. Her arms wrapped around his neck with her face in his shoulder while Natsu was holding her up with her thighs. They all started walking away from the tree towards the town.
“Do you know she ran away earlier?” Wendy asked.
“*sigh* An old memory came up, a bad one. It seems whoever touched her on her shoulder triggered the memory.”
“Can you tell us what it is?” Erza asked.
“Going into the first year of running away, she was captured by Dark Night. She was in a cell with the other women. The guards came and took the women in her cell leaving her there alone. Soon another guard came and tried to rape her. She was saved by Misty who put a bullet through the guard's head.” Wendy gasped and all of them had a shocked look on their faces. Gray clenched his fist while Erza was lost in thought.
“This means we have to defect them when we attack,” Erza said. “So they won’t be able to do that to anyone else.” They soon went their separate ways. Happy opened the door from Natsu. Natsu looked over his shoulder and saw that Lucy was asleep again. He went up to their room and placed her on their bed. He took off her boots along with her cloak. As he was about to put the cover over her something caught his eye. Her shirt was somewhat up. He could see a cut, it was fresh. He lifted her shirt a bit and looked at it more closely. He grabbed a wrap and wrapped her waist. He put the cover over her and got ready for bed. He got under the covers and pulled Lucy close. He closed his eyes and sleep take over.
A figure stood on a branch near the house. He saw who had the key but he was stuck in between what he needed to do and what he should do. Should he tell Daxx and the rest of them or keep it to himself and give the guild a fighting chance. He jumped down from the tree and into the forest. He soon came to a run-down building. He walked in and opened a trapped door. He walked down the stairs until he reached the second floor and went to the meeting room. When he went in he saw that Misty and Gin were there.
“Did you find out if he had it?” The guys said nothing.
“Well, did he?” Misty asked again.
“No, no sight of it. He even got undressed and had no sign of it.”
“Goddammit, where could it be?”
“Maybe, they never found it.” The guy said.
“No they found it, we were chasing her and she disappeared. Keep watching the guild and find out who has the key.” Misty said before walking out with Gin behind her. The guy let a sigh out.
“You know that you could get yourself killed by lying.” A voice said.
“I know but these people need to go down. I would rather die than help them win, they killed my brother. *sigh* What about you, how have you been doing?”
“The usual, just make sure you don’t get caught. I can only do some much. Also, you’re not the only one that lost someone to those people. I lost my sister, they lied that she was alive so I could do their dirty work but you can’t always keep someone’s death quiet.”
“When is the next time you will contact Lucky?”
“Not any time soon, Dove is up our asses to make sure we don’t mess up. But no need to worry, even though we can’t contact her, we can still do our job. We’ll be going into phase 2 soon, warn the others. Make sure you guys don’t get caught, we don’t need to lose anyone else.” The guy nodded before heading out. He went back the same way he went. He soon ended up at the house. He quietly went to one of the windows and opened it. He climbed in and looked around. He looked around till he found a piece of paper and a pen. We have begun Phase 2. He wrote. He dropped the paper on the floor making it look like it was dropped. He went back to the window he came in and went out. He closed it and went back over to the tree. Before he disappeared in the forest he looked up at the window where Lucky laid. He could see that she was looking at him. He nodded at her and she nodded at her. They both were risking everything but they knew that. He disappeared into the night and Lucy laid her head back down. She listened to Natsu’s breath. He was slightly snoring. She peeled his arms from around her and sat up. She quietly stood up and went downstairs. She saw the sheet of paper and picked it up. She read it and nodded. It was a bit ahead of schedule but it would still work. She crumbled it up and threw it away. She heard footsteps and went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass. She filled it as she heard the footsteps coming down the stairs. She took a sip before turning around. There stood Natsu in his boxers, his hair messed up and he had a tired look in his eye.
“Go back to bed, Natsu. I will be back up there soon.” Lucy said as she finished her glass.
“You're ok, though?” He asked.
“Yea, just a nightmare.” She said and put up a fake smile. He didn't ask any questions and went back up the stairs. She was glad that he didn’t ask any questions. She placed the glass in the sink before going back upstairs. She went into the room to see that Natsu had flipped down in the middle of the bed. She let out a breath before attempting to push Natsu to the side. No matter how hard she pushed he did not move. She let out a breath before giving up. She soon felt arms around her waist and pulled her down. She just closed her eyes and sleep take over again. She hoped that this had no nightmares like before.
Morning soon came and people raised, getting ready for the day. Most of the team was at the train station, they were just waiting on two people. Soon came Gray and Juvia, Storm still asleep.
“Sorry, we’re late,” Gray said, letting out a breath.
“It's fine, you sure though that it's a good idea to bring Storm along?” Erza said.
“Well, the master might make Juvia be in one of the teams so she thinks it would be a good idea to train too.”
“Alright, we’ll all take turns watching him.”
“Guys the train is coming.” Happy said flying above them. The five of them walked to where the rest were and boarded the train. Lucy made sure to give the dragon slayers the sickness patches before a boarding. They all sat in silence till Storm started crying. Juvia gave him a bottle making him quiet down. Since Juvia sat next to Lucy Storm saw Lucy’s keys again. He tried reaching for them but couldn’t quite get them. He started to get frustrated. He busted out in tears making everyone look at him. He tried to grab them again. Lucy unhooks them from her belt and hands them to him. He stopped crying once he got them in his hands.
“It seems Storm really likes your keys, Lucy,” Wendy said.
“Yea, make it because they shine.” She said with a small smile. Natsu was looking at Lucy as she watched Storm. ‘She would make a great mother.’ Natsu thought. He didn’t know when he might be able to have kids but he hoped soon. Maybe after Dark Night is behind bars. Lucy looked back out the window and watched as the scenery went by.
They sat there for maybe an hour before a train came to a stop. They looked at each other before an announcement was said, “Sorry for the mishap but some problems have occurred so we have stopped at Hvid Engel. You may get off and look around the town, please bring your tickets with you so you are able to get back on the train once we fix repairs.” Lucy’s eyes widen in hearing the town’s name. She hasn’t been here since Celeste died. They all got off the train and took in the sight of the town. It was lively, it had grown in just two years. The little shops Lucy once saw were booming with business. Lucy made sure that her cloak was up before they all started walking.
“Are you ok, Lucy?” Juvia asked.
“Yea, just this was the first town I came to when I ran away.”
“Really?” Wendy asked.
“Yea, it grew so much in just two years. Maybe it's because I supposedly got rid of the monster.”
“What monster?” Erza asked.
“Celeste, my dragon, she lived in one of the caves in the forest. She protects the town from monsters but the town thought she was the monster in doing no one ever came here cause they were afraid.”
“Well, then you know the town. So can you show us around?”
“I’m not really waiting after the townspeople found out what I've done they basically tried to force me out. But I was already leaving, I just needed to get a few things.”
“What did you do?”
“I killed people,” Lucy said as she looked down before walking passed everyone. They looked at her in shock.
“What do you mean you killed people?” Gray asked. Lucy let out a breath before speaking,
“Let me show you.” She started walking. The group followed closely behind her. They walked through the town until they got to the end. They went into the forest, following a trial before getting off. They soon came to a cave that was big. As they entered they could see gems on the walls. Lucy stopped as she came across a gold statue of a guard. She walked around it and they stopped once they saw it. Gray touched it and it crumbled to the ground. They followed after Lucy until they reached a big room. There stood many gold statues. In the back, laid a skeleton of a dragon.
“When they invaded here, we were outnumbered. They were able to get me down and had put a knife to my throat. Celeste stopped and they took their chance. They killed her. I snapped and I sent out a wave of magic. I don’t know how or why but when I looked around everyone had turned into golden statues. I touched one and it crumbled to the ground. I knew that I killed them. At first, I saw it was my fault but in the end, it wasn’t. They pushed too far, they were lucky that I didn't have Celie yet or they would have a painful death.”
“Celie, would have freaked out and would have fallen to her primal instincts, wouldn’t she?” Erza asked.
“Yea, Celeste was like a second mother to me. Celie may seem like a child and that she is young in her dragon years but she’s very protective. If any of you guys were to get hurt she would get angry.”
“Lucy if you want I could do Milky Way and you could talk to Celeste,” Wendy suggested. Lucy shook her head.
“No, I’ll be fine. Right now she is in a better place and I don’t want to ruin her resting place either.” Lucy said before walking past the group and out of the cave. The group looked once more before following her. They head back to the town and to the train station. Erza went up and asked if it was fixed. The contractor nodded and they climbed aboard. Lucy leaned against the window as the train started moving. Another 2 hours and they would be at their destination.
