Chapter 28

Natsu’s Point Of View

It was late in the night when Kalmte said that we should stop discussing Dark Night and actually get something to eat. We sat on the floor and ate while Celie laid on the couch, upside down.

“Celie, when was the last time you ate?” Kalmte asked.

“This morning.”

“Did you eat at least half of the food?”

“Yes.”

“Why are you asking if she ate?” Erza asked.

“Lucy has a habit of forgetting to eat and because of this habit, she doesn't eat very much. Which caused her to have a small stomach so we've been trying to get her to eat more every time she’s here.” Lerenzo said.

“This habit of hers isn't good. She could go days without eating and would be totally fine but in the end, has a negative effect.” Kalmte butted in.

“Hey, I've been like this for one and a half years. It's just I don't eat actual food.”

“Which is bad, you need the nutrition.”

“Now that I think bout it, Celie what do you eat?” Levy asked.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, you’re a Celestial Dragon Slayer, right?” She nodded. “Wendy is the Air Dragon Slayer and she eats air to gain more magic or sometimes to just eat it so what do you eat?”

“Well, no one can actually eat Celestial magic so I use the night to eat.”

“What do you mean?”

“Celestial magic has to do with the stars and the night, well when it's the night it's how I get what I need to eat as you say. It's not exactly eating for us, it's like the moonlight is giving us the magic. The magic gives me more strength if I'm fighting, it heals me if I'm wounded, or just has a nice feeling to it.”

“Oh, that's interesting.”

“Now that remembers me when was the last time you slept?” Kalmte asked.

“Bout a week or so ago.”

“Did you crash like usual?”

“Yea but couldn't do it for long or these guys would have gone crazy feeling something went wrong.”

“Wait, Celie. Lucy or you haven't been sleeping?” I asked.

“Yup.”

“It's another bad habit she picked up. She would go long periods of time without sleeping which when her body finally needs sleep. It does what we call Crashes. She basically can't do anything, like she overused her body. So she would fall asleep for bout a full day if not two.” Kalmte said and glared at Celie.

“Kalmte why did the Council want us here?” Gramps asked.

“To discuss a couple of new laws that we would be put in effect. 1st council member will be speaking with you Guild Masters while the other council members will be speaking with the guild members from the guilds in their area.”

“The guilds from their area?” Levy asked.

“They thought it would be easier to separate the Fiore and have each council member overlook their area. I happened to have you guys in my area which is why I have Lucy as one of my solo wizards and that I'm able to talk to you guys right now.”

“What type of laws were made?” Gramps asked.

“Well, since with what’s going on with Dark Night and all that. They want to have every member that your guild has on file which means it needs their full name, their address, marriage, all that. They also want all jobs done on file too, some guilds already do it but they want more added. They want who is the client, who did the job, where it's located, the date they took the job, and when they got back and maybe in the future put in actual reports.”

“They really are going that far with this.”

“What else do you expect, in some of the towns Dark Night had attacked there were people from guilds and some went missing while others were killed. They want to know if Dark Night actually took them or was it something else.” Celie said. She was now sitting upright but something caught her eye. I looked to where she was looking but nothing was there.

“What are you looking at?” Happy said, noticing it too.

“Huh, what?” She said after she blinked a couple of times.

“Nevermind.” We heard knocking on the door and Kalmte got up to answer it. She opened the door and there was a man there. He was bout 6 feet with brown hair and two different colored eyes. His left one was red while his right was purple.

“Hello, Yami. What are you doing here?”

“I was wondering if you have talked to Miss Heartfilia yet?”

“No, she hasn't come around.” I looked over to where Celie or Lucy just was and she wasn't there. It was as if she disappeared.

“I would have thought she came with them since they are here.”

“Nope, sorry. I'll let her know that you wished to speak to her, again.”

“Do they know bout what the guild?”

“Nope, I was asking if Lucy has spoken to them at all and so far once but they haven't heard from since then.”

“Alright, sorry for disturbing you.”

“It's fine 1st, good night.” She said and closed the door.

“You just lied to the 1st Council member,” Erza said in shock.

“And where did Celie go?” Wendy said.

“You can come out Celie, he’s gone,” Lerenzo said. The next thing that I know is Celie appeared out of golden dust.

“I went to the Celestial Realm so he won't see me.”

“But why?” Erza asked.

“Since telling the council, Lucy has been getting a weird feeling from him so whenever he comes by or needs to talk to us we disappear and Kalmte lies.” She explains.

“He also acts weird when you question some of the things he does,” Kalmte said.

“Do you think he might be involved with Dark Night?” Levy asked.

“Don't know, there's a lot of things to take in effect but he’s also a very private guy.”

“We should watch him though. He’s been asking me lately if I heard from Lucy.” Kalmte said.

“I think that’s a good idea. If he is working with them then we can catch it early and use it to our advantage.” Gramps said.

“Are you guys sure you want to get involved with Dark Night?” Kalmte asked.

“Yes, why won't we?” I said.

“These people are dangerous and I know you heard that before but letting you know right now that if you do get any more involved than you can't just suddenly back out. You will lose members of your guild to these people, some of you might be captured or used in something horrible.” She looked at Celie before continuing. “Lucy made some friends a while back. She went on a couple of jobs and Dark Night wasn't seen for a couple of months so she thought that they finally left her alone. Oh, she was wrong. They had just finished a job and were in a town and Dark Night attack. Everyone was captured. They tied up Lucy and her friends in the middle of town and let them watch it burn down. The next thing they did was what made Lucy not want to come back to you guys. They killed her friends right in front of her, tortured them, and everything. She and a couple of friends after that happened but in the end, Dark Night killed them. I know she blames herself for what happened.”

“Oh my. We knew that lives were lost but I didn't think it'd be like this.” Lerenzo chuckled before speaking.

“You guys only know part of it. Remember there's always more to the story than it seems and to let you know now what you know is only part of it. There's more but these stories, these parts are not ours to tell. They're hers.” He motioned to Celie and I looked at her eyes and they looked so dead. She got off the table and just stood there. I could see that her eyes fluttered and she grabbed onto the table to stop herself from falling over. Kalmte tried going to her but Celie shouted at us to stay away. She put her hand in front of her face. I could see that she was shaking.

“Celie, control yourself. Remember there not here. No one's going to get hurt.” Kalmte said as she walked closer to her. Kalmte nodded to Lerenzo since he was behind Celie. We were confused about what was going on. Lerenzo raised his hand and I could see little sparks of lightning. I could see that the seal on Celie was starting to glow. Lerenzo put his hand on her shoulder and shocked her. She made no sound and fell to her knees. By now his hand was off her but she was still being shocked but it was purple, not yellow from Lerenzo. She didn't scream which made me worry. She soon fell to her side and her eyes were closed. Her breath was calm and she looked like she was sleeping.

“I knew it was a bad idea to talk bout that,” Kalmte mumbled to herself.

“Wait, what happened to her?” I asked.

“You guys just saw Celie almost lose herself to her primal instincts. Whenever anyone speaks to her bout any deaths that Lucy saw or been through, the primal instincts try to take over. As she said before that the seal helps control the instincts by shocking her. Sometimes you have to shock her first so that the seal can activate early and you won't have to fight.” We had nothing to say.

“Just letting you guys know that this will happen again so I advise that you are able to get in control.” Gramps nodded. We heard a ding dong and noticed what time it was.

“You guys can take her back to the hotel or we can keep her here.”

“We’ll take her back. Natsu can you carry her back?” I nodded and walked over to her. I picked her up and carried her on my back. Kalmte showed out and we head back to the hotel. There were a few people out but none of them paid any attention to us. Once we got to the hotel we all went straight to our room and didn't say anything. I placed Lucy on the bed as Happy laid on the couch. I looked at Lucy and notice that her hair went back to normal and all the scales disappeared. I laid down next to her, pulled the covers over us, and pulled close. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. The truth is slowly coming out and I didn't know how dark and bad it was. Now I wish I had a warning at least.
