Chapter 18

Lucy's Point of View

I ended up going back to the room late. Everyone else was asleep. I decided to read using the moonlight as a light. As the sun started coming up I heard shuffling from Erza's and Wendy's bed. I turned and looked at them seeing Erza get up.

"Oh, you're awake already."

"Yea." She walked into the bathroom but not before she closed the door to the boys' room. I heard the shower turn on. About ten minutes later she came out of the bathroom in a towel. She used her magic and changed into her armor.

"Want to get breakfast from a cafe nearby?"

"Sure." We walked out of the room and hotel. We walked side by side. I could see the cafe not too far. We went in, ordered breakfast sandwiches for everyone and coffee. As we were walking back she spoke,

"You seem too calm after yesterday. You ok?"

"Yea, it wasn't your fault it was mine and I understand that I haven't told you everything either," I said as I looked down at what was in my hands.

"I understand, Lucy. It's hard to speak of what happened and maybe some of the things you learned were when they hurt you. You're not alone in losing people or parts of yourself." I heard her sigh.

"I've lost the person that convinced me to go to Fairy Tail. I've lost my best friend and …. My eye. We all lost things but you,..... You lost more than anyone. Wendy lost her mother and her village where she grew up, of which she saw as her family but now we are her family. Gray lost his parents and master to the same demon but he got over by seeing that demon gone. Natsu lost his father, got him back, then lost him again. But you Lucy, lost your mother, your father, Aquarius, the guild, then you got us back, nearly lost Natsu, lost us again, lost your second mother, and lost all your friends that were with you. You lost more than anyone." We stopped walking and she looked at me. The tears were threatening to fall.

"Right now, I know in your head that you think that you aren't strong enough, that's why you don't tell us anything. But Lucy, you are the strongest person I know. You've been beaten down so many times but every time you got back up. You didn't lose a piece of yourself physically but mentally you have. I can see it. Every time you speak of the dark guild sadness is shown in your eyes. I know and understand that you can't tell us everything right now but I hope that you can tell us in the future." By then the tears were actually falling. I moved the coffee to one hand and wiped the tears away.

"Thank you Erza."

"No problem." We continued our walk back to our rooms. We entered the room and saw Everyone was awake.

"We decided to get you guys breakfast," Erza said. She pulled out the sandwiches and gave everyone one. We ate and headed out.

"Lucy, I just noticed that you're wearing different clothes," Wendy said.

"I asked Virgo to bring me some clothes and this was what she gave me." I lied. I told Virgo to bring these clothes specifically. When we got to the mayor's house it was big. It was between a two-story house and a mansion. I knocked on the door and heard a soft hold on. The door opened to show a lady in a maid outfit.

"We are here bout the job," I said.

"Oh ok. Come in." She said let us in.

"Follow me please." She said and walked into what looked like a small meeting room.

"I'll let the mayor know that you're here." She left. A few minutes later, a man came with the lady. He looked bout late thirties, he had brown hair and wasn't very tall either.

"Hello, you must be the Fairy Tail Guild." He said looking at everyone else except me. Once his eyes landed on me, they widened.

"I didn't know you were back with the guild." He directed his question to me.

"As of now, yes," I answered back.

"But everyone thought you disappeared 2 years ago."

"Yes, I did. The job you put up is what concerns me which is why I came. Can you tell me anything about the group?"

"Yes, they haven't actually attacked the town yet."

"Then why call us here?" I heard Gray say.

"Because something seems off about them. Some of the residents have heard some conservation that they had with each other."

"Can you tell me what they were?" I asked.

"They spoke of the size of the town was and that wizards don't really come."

"That doesn't seem bad or alarming," Erza said. I looked back at them and glared. They all shut their mouths.

"What else?"

"Then they spoke of how the town was made up of mainly children and women. Since they make up more than 50% of the town. But what concerned the citizens was how the girl spoke. She started jumping up and down and got happy. She then said that she can't wait for more pets. The person that told me this said that when that girl looked at them she had an evil look in her eye." I thought about it for a minute.

"From what you know of the girl, did she have short pink hair and pink eyes? Did she also look like she was 16?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Was there a guy with blond hair and orange eyes? Did he look like he was 18?"

"Yes." I put my hand on my chin and thought bout some more.

"Yes, even though they haven't attacked us, we feel like they will. Which is why we were hoping you might be able to help us. Maybe get them to run away." He said. I sigh before speaking.

"I'm gonna be straight bout this. These people belong to a dark guild." He gasped in shock. I pulled out my council badge.

"I am one of the council's wizards. Two years ago I left fairy tail because of this guild. The reason is that they made a threat so I left in hopes to protect my guild. Some time afterward I came across one of the Council members. I explained my situation to them and they asked if I was willing to become one of their wizards. I accepted and they let me deal with this group." I said and put it away.

"If this was two years ago then why haven't you gotten them already?"

"I have dealt with them but when I do I nearly lose my life each time. These people aren't easy to get rid of. Since their guild is big over the past two years I have been taking down parts of the guild."

"So why are they in my town?"

"That is what I don't know. They have been going to town and this is the best way I can put it, picking them. There is a possibility that they might attack but it's low for what I've been doing."

"Can't you send some guards?"

"No, even though I'm in the Council I can't. By sending guards to every town they pick I'll be stretching our protection thin and if they decided to do more than attack just the towns we won't be able to protect everyone. For now, just keep an eye on them and I will keep in touch. I will come and visit the town whenever I can." I said and stood up. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a card.

"This is my personal number. If you feel like they are going to attack I will be here. Just give me a call." I said and handed it to him.

"Alright." We were about to walk out before he stopped us.

"Is there a way where if they do attack to get fewer people hurt?"

"I ask if anyone has any families outside of this town to go and live with them for the time being."

"But some people are going to say that they don't want to leave."

"Just tell them that there is a risk with staying here."

"*sigh* Alright, goodbye." He said. I knew he wasn't happy with this outcome but it's what I can do. We walked out of the house and they looked at me.

"What?" I said.

"When did you get a badge from the council?" Happy asked.

"Since I became one of their solo wizards."

"Lucky," Natsu said. Erza was looking off into space.

"Erza," Gray said waving a hand in front of her face.

"Oh sorry, what were you saying?"

"Nothing too important," Wendy said.

"I wonder if they fixed the train tracks yet," Carla said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"The reason we had to walk and take a carriage is that the tracks were broken," Erza said.

"I'm going to see if they are. You guys head back to the hotel and be ready to leave." She said. We said ok and walked back. Today has been an interesting day so far.
