Kongpob had been calling nonstop but  neither Bright nor Knot bothered to recieve his call.
Panicked and anxious, he raced straight towards the underground floor as soon as his feet touched the soil of his home.

" Arthit ..." he was calling for the merman as soon as he entered double doors of his house, half expecting his call to be answered, half his brain anticipated Arthit to be passed out in the pool. Because if it was P'Bright getting them drunk, even heaviest of drinkers have hard time staying sober. P'Bright doesn't  own a bar in name only, the man sure knows his liquor.

" Arthit ..." Kong called again, but no answer. Kongpob walked further, noises from the floor below trickled out as soon as he reached the staircase that led to underground pool.

" Ai Knot ... Arthit misses home 😭. " Arthit's  melodious yet heavily slurred voice fell on his ears, Kong halted,his heart being squeezed painfully in his chest by the sad declaration of merman. He could understand what the merman was going through, surviving all alone amongst the stranger inhabitat and creatures. This is whole another world for him, without any suport of a friend or ally.

" Arthit misses  home so much, " Arthit sniffled " Arthit misses P'Kit too😥. Back home, on the full moon day, Arthit and P'Kit used to sit on this big iceberg in the back of our palace , we used to stare at the full moon and talk about our future mates.

Arthit is so thankful to moon godess for giving us mates. You know P'Kit didn't  like having a mate, he used to mock me for believing in mates. He used to say , mer should choose their mate on the basis of love, not because some unseen godess chose them for us. But, Arthit finds it romantic. Arthit has been always waiting for his mate, the one who is made only for Arthit. The one who will love Arthit as Arthit is. Arthit will live with him and die for him. Mate will never make fun of Arthit.

Like Arthit's master, mate will find Arthit the most handsome mer irrespective of gender. Its romantic having a mate, isn't  it ? " Arthit looked up, searching for validation in Knot's eyes.

" It is. Very much so. " Knot agreed, softly nodding, his fingers carding through Arthit's  hairs.

"You know, " Arthit excitedly began " On the night of first full moon since meeting our destined mate, when the mate of a merman looks at him for the very first time , as soon as the beams of moonlight fall on merman, his scale change colours in to prettiest shades of sea. And after full moon, a mer changes in to the form they would be most compatible with their mate, so they could live together happily . Moon godess is very kind , isn't she ? "

" Mmmhmm. " Knot nodded.

" But, not everything is beautiful. After meeting their mate, a mer falls in heat on the next full moon. Then they have until next full moon to win heart of their mate." Arthit stopped abruptly. Knot's fingers halted too, Kong peaked from the corner hecwas hiding at, there  sat Knot at the edge of the pool while Arthit had his head in Knot's lap, rest of his body submerged in the water.

Kong saw Knot asking the question swirling in his mind " If the mer get rejected — "

" They turn in to sea foam... heart break is a disease Ai Knot. Humans are lucky, they don't  die of heartbreak. Sometimes, we envy humans. Mers who have a mate of other species, mostly die of heartbreak😭...  "

Knot didn't  reply to that. Both the occupants of pool sat, wordlessly, the weight of consequences hanging heavy in the air.

Kong stood stunned too... Today was full moon night. If Arthit have met his mate , then..... Arthit's  sniffles brought him back to realty.

Kong felt himself being pulled towards the supernatural creature, eager to shield the mer in his arms and  provide him comfort in any way he could.

His feet automatically heading towards the pool area where Arthit was. His eyes captured Bright's form lying at one side in his boxers, bottles of alchohol lying at his feet, but his brain only registered Arthit and by extension P'Knot— his senior who currently sat shirtless, Arthit's head resting in his lap.

Not long though.

Kong wasn't  ready for the wave of jealousy and fury that surged forward, seeing Concern and adoration in his senior's eyes.

" You don't have to worry about rejection na Arthit " Knot commented, resuming his ministration, his fingers again carding paths in Arthit's  hair " Anyone who would reject you,human ir otherwise , would be the biggest fool in the universe. "

" That's what my mer friend Ai Knot used to say 😇🤗. Arthit misses your six  hands Ai Knot 😭" Arthit commented, raising his arms and squeezing Knot's biceps " Arthit liked when Ai Knot used to swing Arthit in air. "

Knot laughed at the merman  " I can easily swing you with my two hands too . I don't  need eight hands for that😀"

" Liar, " Arthit scoffed " Ai Knot almost dropped Arthit– "

" That was because you kissed me out of nowhere..."

" Arthit  was expressing love ,like humans  do 🤷‍♀️ "

" Oh ! And how does merman express their love ? " Knot asked.

" Arthit will tell you if you swing Arthit like Ai Knot used to😉🙃. " Arthit retorted, promptly making grabby hands at Knot who easily picked him up from the pool and in to his arms.

Arthit giggled happily and balanced himself by resting his hands on knot's shoulder  when knot raised him up by grabbing just above his waist and swirled him.

" This is fun. 😀🤗" Arthit grinned , hollering at top of his lungs. Unknown to him, Kong stood at sjort distance,clenching his teeth, nails digging in to flesh of his palm. Only reason he wasn't  wrenching Arthit out of Knot's arm was that , Knot provided Arthit a piece of home. A feeling of comfort Kong wouldn't  be able to provide, no matter how much he wanted to do so.

Therefore,  Kong could do nothing but watch Arthit giggling carelessly and drown in the bitterweet feeling of jealousy.

Knot slowed down after fifth time, securing the merman within his strong arms, he let Arthit catch his breath and settle down.

" Now, show me how merman expresses love ? "

Arthit grinned boyishly, happy to have tricked Ai Knot  " Merman show love only to their mate.😏😎. Since Ai Knot isn't  Arthit's mate, Arthit must not show him mer love. "

" You tricked me , Merman ? " Knot reprimanded in fake anger " Now, be ready for your punishment. "

Giving Arthit no time to hold himself, he swirled at fast speed.

Arthit giggled happily " It is fun, Ai Knot. Just like old times. "

Kong clenched his teeth at the exchange, if it wasn't  flirting,he didn't  know what was.

" Arthit ...." the words escaped his lips before he could think twice. Merman's gaze snapped  towards his general direction. " Master... " came the instant cheerful giggle.  "  Hosting was so much fun. Arthit even learnt the strip dance today. "

" You did ?" Kong asked , smiling.

" Mmmhmm. " Arthit hummed " Arthit can even show you ..."

" Really ? " Knot chuckled " You don't even wear clothes. What will you strip Arthit ? "

Arthit threw Knot a nasty look. Why did Ai Knot pointed it out when master didn't  notice ? Now, master knows the fault, Arthit won't  get the reward. Knot had made him lose master's kiss 😑😔.

" Let's  shop for clothes tomorrow. Then you can show me what you learnt.  Problem solved" Kong suggested.

" Really master ? " Arthit stared at him wide eyed "Arthit will have Arthit's  own human clothes ?"

" yes. " Kong nodded. " Arthit's  very own human clothes, as many as Arthit wants."

Arthit clapped his hands in glee " Now, Arthit will learn how to wear human clothes👏. Two more thing to teach my juniors😎.  Arthit will master strip dance ritual and  become best strip dancer in world💪."

Kong didn't  miss the pride shining in the black orbs. This was his merman, glowing like a thousand watt bulb after learning merely how to brush.

Startled by the declaration, Knot choked on thin air,his hands almost losing their balance and dropping Arthit, for which he got soundly smacked at back of his head. " Don't  you dare make fun of Arthit in your head😠  "

Kong chuckled imagining a faceless crowd of mers led by none other than Arthit, swaying their hips and stripping their shirts.

Arthit frowned seeing both his master and Ai Knot smiling by themselves and shakingbtheir head at him, just like he used to do seeing over excited mer juniors on furst day of training .

Arthit is not only talk though 😠"Arthit will become universe's  best strip dancer. You just see Ai Knot 😒😒"

" Ofcourse, Arthit will. " Kong patted Arthit's head  " I will take him P'Knot. " Kong transferred Arthit to his arms without waiting for Knot's answer.

" Sure. " Knot smiled, bending to pick up his shirt lying on the floor.

" Did you have dinner P'Knot ? "

" Yes, Nong. Arthit had been very good and caring company. Sorry for breaking in to your house unannounced." Knot buttoned up his shirt
"I should take Bright back . "

" I will call Khun First to drive you home. "

" No need na Nong, I have brought my car, I will drop Bright . Take care of Arthit, he is mossing his home na.. "

" About that Phi..." Kong's  sentence was cutoff by Knot " Don't  worry Nong, I know who Arthit is." Knot gently patted  Kong's shoulder in assurance "His secret is safe with me abd Ai Bright.  "

Kong smiled gratefully " Thank you na Phi.  "

" Bye, Ai Knot " Arthit threw him a flying kiss which Knot pretended to catch and keep in his pocket.
Kong could only watch and stew in jealousy.  First Bright bird and now P'Knot. Only god knows what kind of bond Arthit manged to forge with P'Bright. Kong could only shiver at the possibilities.

Without caring about the shoes he still had on his feet, Kong sat at the edge of the pool, his legs dangling in the water.

" Master, how was your day ? " Arthit asked, his eyelids already droopy.

" Very eventful. And how many times do I have to tell you to call me Kong and not master, Arthit ? "

" Sorry, mas– ... I mean Kong. "

" Its okay. How was your day ? "

" Very busy master. Arthit gave Ai Knot and Ai Bright a tour of our house . Then Arthit organized a dinner at this big pond. "

" Arthit organized a dinner all by himself ? "

" Ofcourse ! " Arthit replied offended
" Arthit can't allow their guests to work. Now, can he ? "

" True Khrap. So, what was the menu that Arthit planned ? "

Leaning back in Kong's lap, Arthit relaxed further, his tail excitedly flapped even thinking about all that they ate  " Chocolates, fruits, ice cream, chips and all bottles of wine. "

" All bottles 😳? "

" Arthit didn't know about human wine 😒😒. Master didn't  teach anything 🤨. How would Arthit know what wine his guest will like ? "

" True , Khrap😅. Arthit did very good na. "

" Arthit was a good human host🤗😇 ? " Arthit asked , smiling, closing his eyes to relax in his master's  lap. All the use of magic has tired him up, his core hasn't healed back to start with and doing magic to protect his master's  house today has costed him good. But he was happy to have proven good pet for his master.

He was happier hearing his master's  next words.

" Very good. But next time , you don't empty all the fridge and wine cellar na ? "

"That means Arthit wasn't a good host ☹? "

" Arthit was very good host, Arthit. Master is very happy. " Kong replied caressing soft skin of Arthit's cheek.

" Does Arthit gets reward for doing his job explicably, master ?" Arthit asked eagerly .

" Ofcourse. What reward does Arthit want ? "

" In this world, greatest gift one could give is Love. " Arthit replied like a wise old man .

Kong nodded chuckling and Arthit instantly turned his face to right, presenting his cheek to be kissed.

Smiling, Kong bent his head and pressed his lips to merman's cheek.
The merman instantly presented his other cheek " More love ... "
Kong chuckled at the cuteness, promptly giving Arthit the kiss he demanded.

" More love... " Arthit mumbled, giggling to himself.

" Master has other rewards too , Khrap... Doesn't Arthit want them ? "

" Arthit loves 'love reward' the most.😍"

" Even more than 'Tomyum and chocolava cupcakes ? " Kong asked.

" How will Arthit know ? Arthit never had choco lava cupcakes. Arthit must have to have Tomyum and cupcakes before answering , Khrap. Let's go to our room,master ..."

Kong laughed at merman's  cheekiness.

" At once, Khrap. " he carried Arthit in his arms and walked towards the staircase leading to first floor — their room.

On the way, Arthit peppered Kongpob's neck and chest with kisses in the pretence of 'give and take', while Kong just smiled, drowning in the bliss that is love.

Moon goddess was at her best.

The full moon night only unfolding ...
