The Fates are Mysterious Assholes
Warning: I checked the dates and such and I found that the time line was outta wack so I went back and changed the timeline. Percy is twenty eight and she was exiled almost eleven years ago in the fic. I was researching for this chapter and the continuity wouldn't work for me. Curse younger me for not doing the adequate amount of research that was needed.
-----------------------------------
She was a baby agent and she needed to get used to what SHIELD wanted from her. She was sent to Stark Industries as a way to keep an eye on the inner workings. She also went to be able to learn how to stay under cover for long periods of time. Thus, SHIELD got her a part time job as a janitor- which she found ironic because she was always told in school that a janitor was all she probably could be. But jokes on them, she was what amounted to a veteran working for a government agency, going undercover and pretending to be a janitor.
She rolled herself down the hall- she was in SI mopping the floor as Tony Stark was holding a press conference. She suddenly heard running footsteps, the man himself soon appearing. He looked slightly panicked, causing her to quickly put the mop down, open the janitor's closet, and usher him inside. She closed the door just as half a dozen rabid reporters entered the hallway.
"Did you see Stark come through here?" A particularly rude man questioned. Percy shook her head, her strait blond hair bouncing with the movement.
Blue eyes blinked up at them before replying. "N-no. I di-didn't. I th-think I saw him g-go-" She was cut off by a different reporter.
"Just cut to the chase. Who even are you anyways." The reporter looked down at her an sneered.
"I'm h-her to p-pay for com- community col-colle- college. And if you di-didn't cut me off I was ab-about to say that he ran th-that way." She pointed in the other direction and the reporters quickly ran off, not noticing the other person entering. Mrs. Potts looked around, eyes landing on Percy in her wheelchair, picking up the mop once more.
"Mrs. Potts. Mr. Stark is in the janitor's closet over here. I hid him there when I saw him running." She placed the mop in the bucket and rolled her chair to the door. She knocked twice, to let him know that she was opening the door, and turned the handle. Tony Stark walked out, brushing off his suit coat.
"That was amazing," Tony squinted at Percy's name tag, "Miss... Rebecca. Thank you for saving me from the wolves. I should offer you a raise."
"It's okay Mr. Stark. I'm only a part time worker and this is helping me pay my physical therapy bills- not college. Impatient people don't tend to want stay and be patient for those who need it. Plus, no one really pays much attention to a janitor, much less one that stutters. I think it was just me protecting my paycheck Mr. Stark."
Mr. Stark smiled. "If you want that raise, just let me or Miss. Potts. It's the least we could do for saving me from the piranhas, regardless of stuffing me in a room full of cleaning supplies." With that the duo walked off.
Percy smiled. Tony Stark was actually a very nice man despite the mask that he put out for the public.
-------------------------------
Percy was mopping the floors in her wheelchair when the news broke that Tony Stark was missing in Afghanistan. She quickly began praying under her breathe, praying that Tony would be alright, that he would be safely guided home.
{}
Percy prayed to those who trusted her every day after she ate lunch, making sure to keep her prayers quiet and vague so the gods who were listening couldn't find her. Plausible deniability is Percy's best friend at this point.
When she was working in SI three times a week, she tended to pray late at night during her graveyard shift that she had taken up after Stark's disappearance. No one payed her any attention when she muttered a sentence or two under her breath- mainly because no one was around. What she didn't know was that JARVIS took note every time she would still and let her eyes flutter closed to pray. While JARVIS couldn't exactly make out what she was saying, he was able to discern that it was for Sir. And if Miss. Potts was made aware and this wheelchair bound janitor found a slightly bigger bonus than usual, no one had to know.
{}
It was a mere few weeks before Percy saw Tony after his return. Even though she was sent to work at SI when SHIELD pinged Stark as a possible informant, she had grown to know him from the shadows, seeing him when he was real when she was all but invisible, just a janitor cleaning. Just because she grew fond of the man, didn't mean that she wouldn't stay impartial when she was building up her file on the man.
It was late at night- she hadn't changed her shift as she was happy with them currently with her SHIELD workload- when she saw Tony Stark stumble down a dark hallway in the R&D department she wheeled after him, moving the mop to start cleaning the next portion of the floor. She made sure that the contact of her fingerless leather gloves on the wheels of her wheel chair could be heard. It wasn't loud and inconsiderate, but it allowed the man to make his own decision on whether or not to acknowledge her.
The man turned, eyes flickering with slight recognition. "Rebecca right?"
"Yes sir."
"What are you doing here this late?"
Percy smiled gently. "My insomnia is a ruthless slave driver. I switched soon after you... took the leave of absence. It worked with my other job, so I didn't bother switching back Mr. Stark."
Tony nodded, shifting his feet slightly. Percy merely waited for him to speak on his own, continuing to mop the floors and get a stubborn scuff mark out of the floor. "Did you... ever think I was gone?"
"No one is every really gone Mr. Stark," Percy stated gently, "We are merely lost until we find our way home. I think the earth would have mourned your passing sir and we all would have felt it. You are destined for wonderful things Mr. Stark, never forget all the good you can do."
Percy pointedly didn't look up at Tony's face, giving Stark all of the privacy he deserved.
"Are you religious Rebecca?"
"I think that belief creates the being Mr. Stark. Everything that has been followed, believed in, prayed to somehow exists in some capacity or another. The belief makes them real to someone; whose to say that every deity every prayed to created them. Beliefs are what keep us running, what keeps us going. You never know if all of the prayers to you being alive actually helped?" Tony merely blinked, stunned. He was an atheist, but he had respect for the God his Mama always prayed to.
When Tony didn't respond nor did he leave, Percy went into the backpack that was hooked onto the back of her wheelchair. "Here Mr. Stark. This book actually helped me through the rough nights since my accident. I think it might help you."
Taking the book, Tony examined it. The book cover was a deep, royal blue, silver lettering swirling across the front cover. 'My Lost Hero' by Sally Jackson. Tony thumbed it open and it fell opened up to the most worn and loved page. Oddly it was the dedication page.
'To my child, the light of my life,
Little dove, wherever you have flown,
Know that you are loved so much
Stay safe wherever your flight takes you.'
At Tony's questioning sound Percy elaborated. "Sally Jackson's son has been missing for a while now- he went to visit his father's side of the family for the summer and he never returned. He had often disappeared during his childhood, but this time was the longest. He was a childhood friend of mine and he helped me a lot throughout my life- he protected me a whole hell of a lot and he means so much to me. I'm good friends with his mother and just... that page helps me remember him. She wrote it to hopefully get it to her son, wherever he was. That book helped me when I was lost, and hopefully it will help you now. Goodnight Mr. Stark."
Tony's hands closed around the book, fingers feeling the well worn edges and frayed pages.
Back in his bed, he opened up to the first page
----------------------
Six months had passed since Tony Stark announced that he was Iron Man. SHIELD made sure she kept her part time job at SI, allowing her to balance other, smaller missions as she still recovered. She now had just one elbow crutch to lean on if needed and she was proud of herself. Percy even managed to land herself a job in security, delegated by Harold Hogan after he and Mr. Stark saw her take down a thief stealing an Iron Man gauntlet with just her crutch; she was on double elbow crutches at the time so she thankfully didn't fall. It also helped that she had Mrs. O'Leary with her as her service dog- a simple command and she retrieved the gauntlet and put it at Tony's feet.
She accompanied Stark as a part of his security detail to the race, and traded glances with Natasha. She was sent to get closer to Stark, to get a more in depth file on the man. What Percy didn't tell anyone was that she felt something awful crawling through Tony's veins. She kept quiet, knowing that Natasha was the better profiler.
{}
Percy was helping get civilians to safety when she saw a little boy standing in front of a Hammer Tech bot, dressed like Iron Man. She screamed, rushing as fast as she could- she wouldn't make it, she wasn't fast enough, she wouldn't be able to save him. And then Iron Man was there and saved the kid. She skidded to a stop on her knees and grabbed the boy, hugging him. "Thank you Mr. Stark."
Iron Man stood still for a moment, looking over Rebecca and cataloguing her numerous injuries. She had abandoned her crutch, not needing it much anymore- but after tonight she might need to lean on it for a few days. But Rebecca quickly scooped up the boy and ran towards the crowd, ignoring her injuries to reunite the boy with his aunt and uncle. Then she dove back into the fray.
It was after the Hammer Tech bot attack, eleven days to be exact, and Percy was getting ready to resign- SHIELD didn't need her going undercover anymore. She was packing up her things from the employee lockers when JARVIS spoke up.
"Why would SHIELD send two agents to profile Sir in the first place?"
"Its always good to have a backup JARVIS, never forget that. And don't go on file, but look a bit deeper into Mr. Stark's file. You'll see my assessment under Natalia's. I could tell something was wrong- I knew him much longer that Natalia did. So I just quietly continued to gather information as unbiasedly as I could. When SHEILD shows him Natalia's file, make sure to show him mine once he is free of any possible spying. Keep an eye on Stark for me will you JARVIS?"
"I will Miss. Rebecca Cooper- if that is really your real name."
"Just stick with Rebecca JARVIS; powerful people want to kill me so my file is only on paper. Just know that I hold no ill to your creator or any around him."
The lights flickered off as Percy left the room. "Goodnight JARVIS."
"Goodnight ma'am."
{}
Tony clenched his fists.
'Iron Man yes, Tony Stark not recommended' kept swirling in his mind. Once in his room and in his bed, JARVIS whispered out a "Sir" to get his attention before projecting a blue hologram. He played what 'Rebecca' said to him before he pulled up the second analysis.
After a good half an hour, Tony finally stopped reading the large, in depth file on him. His eyes watered a bit and Tony quickly sent the two different files to Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy before he got up and walked towards his bookshelf.
He sat back down with a well loved, blue colored book with silver lettering. 'My Lost Hero.'
-----------------------------
Percy woke up when a pack of Donettes hit her stomach. Coulson smirked at her, a bit of flour on his cuffs. "Do I want to know?"
Coulson merely smiled and started the car.
--------------------------------
Percy stepped out into the rain, looking at the hammer. "Yup its godly Coulson! Now get me out of here before I get zapped!"
---------------------------------------
A green beast roared and created destruction. Into her comm she reported to Fury. "He isn't a beast- he is just hurting and confused. I think he is the embodiment of Banner's anger. He just doesn't know how to handle the hurt inside. We can't let Ross get him Fury."
----------------------------------
A phone rang incessantly. "Hello?"
"We need you here. We found something in the ice."
"Got it."
--
The area was cleared, the large jet cold and almost lonely. A man lay encased in ice. Coulson and Fury stood by the entrance, allowing her to have privacy as she did her job. Breathing deep, she reached inside herself, to that ball of power within herself. She grabbed that ball and channelled it. She focused on the ice, called on Hestia's power, mixing it with the one that was programmed within her blood. She warmed the ice slowly, gradually in order to prevent any negative effect. The water pooled around her feet, circling up her calves, giving her more power and focus. As the ice melted and melted, she was finally able to feel the blood in this man's body, moving so slowly. No matter how much she detested using this power, she used it to control the blood to move, to bring this man back to consciousness. She placed her hands on his cheeks and channeled her warmth into him, warming his blood. As the man became conscious, the woman left and let the agents back in to finish the job. Fury pat her back and smiled at her, allowing her to retreat to recuperate. She hated controlling anyone in such a way- she hated the feeling of controlling someone's blood, taking away their bodily autonomy even though in this instance it was to save this man.
As Percy lay down to nap, Captain America was moved to his prepared rooms in the SHIELD facility.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Percy cut down another Chitauri. She was panting and tired but she had to keep going, helping to evacuate the city. "Come on guys! you can mak- AGH." A purple blast hit her in the small of her back and she fell. "Go!" She shouted when people hesitated, "I'm fine. Please just go!"
A simple tap to her comm and a report that she was down allowed another agent to take her place. Percy managed to stumble to safety and was quickly moved to the med bay
{}
A few weeks later found Percy in her wheelchair once more. That stupid alien blast had sent her back in her progress. But it didn't matter. She had gotten to walking once before, she would do so again. When wheeling herself through a walking path in a park, she spotted a vaguely familiar person overlooking a body of water.
"Hello?"
The person whirled around and reached for their waist, as if going for a weapon.
"Do you need anything Prince Loki?"
"What do you want Midgardian?"
"Well, when I was one of the people fighting the invasion and got injured during it, I saw you plenty. But tell me Prince Loki, are your eyes blue or green?"
Loki let a slight grin grace his features. Someone saw. He started to walk, but turned around and decided to instead push the wheelchair that Percy sat in. With a look around at the Midgardians, he quickly changed his outfit to a nice black button down and a slick pair of jeans.
"So Prince Loki, what are you looking for?"
"It is quite rude to ask about my life without me even knowing your name."
"My name is Perseus Jackson," Loki's eyes widened in recognition, "And I am a child of both of the Greek and Roman sides of the god of the seas and the grandchild of the goddess of love. I am in a wheelchair because of my father's youngest brother. Many on the youngest's side do not know I am alive, so especially since we are both trying to stay low, I would prefer if we skip the names of those who hold power."
"Ah, that explains it. As you know, I was locked up and magic restrained. I gathered up all of the magic still inside of me and sent out a clone to at least find my children which I had urged to hide from Thor's father. My magic landed me here instead of where one of my children was located. But now knowing your blood, I can see why my magic, as weak and hurt as it was, thought you to be of my blood."
They talked for a while more, both god and demigod loosing track of time. They talked of where his children may have hidden because while Loki's magic may have centered on Percy, it would have ignored her if his children where anywhere else in the nine realms. But because they were on Midgard, Percy's power drew them in. So the duo set up a plan to look- Percy already knew of some urban legends in which might be Loki's kid, Nessie the first to come to mind. And if she was going to help a fellow lost soul, then so be it.
--------------------------------
When Thor came back down to Midgard, Percy was on a mission with Natasha and couldn't come and help. But that didn't mean she didn't inform SHIELD of her demigod dream, that she didn't tell them of the magnitude of power that she felt. Percy almost failed the mission when the Aether touched down on Earth, but she pulled herself together like always and finished it.
The next day, Percy felt Loki poke at her energy signature, and Percy opened up her mind. They talked as Percy was on stakeout duty, the conversation providing her with something else to occupy her brain with; this allowed Percy to focus better of the mission because it prevented her mind from wandering totally. It was kind of like listening to music while you work. It helped her to focus on what she needed to do. As Loki left Midgard, Percy reassured him that he would check in on his children and spend time with them.
--------------------------
Percy woke up in a cold sweat. Something was about to happen. Something was about to happen to SHIELD. SHIELD was infiltrated by HYDRA. Shit. Disguising herself once more, she visited the Kanes and asked them to call Thoth. Getting a private meeting with him was quite a bit nerve wracking, worry flooding her senses, but she knew that the god would be up for the challenge. He had to save every SHIELD agent in the data dump that was about to occur, save every item that was SHIELD only, and allow only HYDRA to become flushed out. If Percy didn't ask Thoth to help Tony Stark, to masquerade as a fellow hacker, then hundreds of SHIELD agents and their families would die. Percy refused to let that happen, and if she had to get some godly power in on it, so be it.
{}
Tony was amazed at the fellow hacker simply going by the Thoth. The hacker caught everything that Tony and JARVIS couldn't, sorting through all SHIELD data and simply dropping all HYDRA information. It took a few hours but with the combined genius of three beings/people, the trio was able to save every last bit of SHIELD and keep all of the information from the public. They let the public and many a government tear into the ousted HYDRA agents and dealings.
Tony was able to actually alert many an agent of the situation and offer up safe havens in various Stark Industries buildings around the world just in case anyone felt that their mission, or their family were on thin ice. Each building would gladly house and family or agent, especially if JARVIS green lighted them.
Percy slept well that night.
-----------------------------------
Ultron was a certified mess. But Percy willingly took up the third party role to analyze what went down in Sokovia. The facts were muddled and hard to find, but Percy was more stubborn than the average person. Everyone deserved to get peace after what happened and she wasn't about to not let the people have it. And thus Percy gathered this information:
1) The Maximoffs were not killed by a Stark Industries bomb- at least not one directly made. Obadiah Stane sold faulty weapons to warring countries and the black market. The fact that the bomb supposedly didn't go off for days is proof that it wasn't a Stark bomb because they never fail. If a bomb didn't pass inspection, then the faults were found and fixed. Stark Industries took pride in their quality. It was found that HYDRA then bought a bomb off the black market and targeted a poor family with children that held a potential to be able to be mutated. And so the Maximoffs were targeted, and thus their rage against Stark was born
2) The Mind Stone is a sentient being, that was angry and hurt at HYDRA's testing. It lashed out and latched onto others. It sensed the anger that enveloped two individuals, the mental tampering that HYDRA had done to them. It looked inside them and saw their X-gene that HYDRA had discovered but had been unable to get functioning. HYDRA scientists were unsure of how it did so, but the Mind Stone activated the twin's X-genes. The Stone left behind some of it's anger and pain, and it latched onto the twins' making them all the more angry. HYDRA grabbed onto that and made that anger flourish, siphoning it all onto Tony Stark and the need for revenge; they made sure that all reasoning was absent, that logic would say that Tony Stark wasn't into weapons, and if he was the bomb wouldn't have failed. The logic would point out that Tony Stark had nothing to do with this and killing him wouldn't bring their parents back.
3) Ultron wasn't even close to being done- it wasn't even an AI yet. Tony had started it as a way to help pilot the Iron Legion, under the orders of JARVIS. But Tony was unsure whether or not to continue, so he shut down the program and set it aside. When Wanda went into his already PTSD-scarred mind and brought forth his worst fears, he was urged to use the already volatile Mind Stone. Tony, especially after the invasion of New York, was cautious of the Mind Stone, and didn't really want to get within fifty feet of the thing without proper protection, much less test on it. But with his fears set out of control, Tony went against the logic and safeguards he had put up. The experimentation, no matter how cautious and respectful Tony was to the Stone, caused the Mind Stone to lash out once more. It latched onto Ultron's unfinished coding and took it over, giving it a mind of its own. Ultron then lashed out at JARVIS, the thing trying to contain it, to shut it down. So Ultron tore JARVIS' code to shreds and thus he possessed the Legion.
4) JARVIS had listened to her advice about always having a backup. Especially with Tony needing the extra arc reactor when Stane stole his arc and left him to die, JARVIS readily followed that advice. He hid a version of himself in an area of server so heavily layered in firewalls, that even if Tony Stark himself tried to dismantle it, it would take him weeks, if not months and possibly years to get through. JARVIS made sure to continuously update the backup version of himself; and when Ultron attacked, JARVIS immediately shut off that connection with his backup in order to protect it. After the coast was clear, JARVIS emerged from his protective firewalls and let Sir know that he was still alive. JARVIS was never happier to follow the advice of a SHIELD agent.
5) Vision was given life via Tony, Bruce, Thor, and the Mind Stone. Vision allowed the Mind Stone to have a say in its use, it allowed the Mind Stone to be calm, to have peace. To be integrated with a mind that welcomed it, that was peaceful and without malicious intent was what the Mind Stone craved. To not be hurt or used or tested on.
6) When Wanda looked into the mind of Ultron, her conditioning was jarred from its place in her mind. The rage that she thought she shared scared her and made her realize the trivialness of her own anger. To be human is to accept what has happened and move on. Ultron wanted to kill all human life, to let his rage raze the world to the ground. While knowing that Ultron didn't care for her or her brother's lives was upsetting, seeing that touch of JARVIS that had somehow made its way Ultron was astounding. Ultron killed an innocent, no matter if that person was an AI or not. That AI had a mind, a soul that loved its creator, that strove to do better, to follow in the metaphorical footsteps of his father. To feel that love that was so deeply imbedded in that dead piece of code allowed Wanda to see a new side to Tony Stark. If the 'bad guy' Tony Stark could create something so... pure and caring, if he could make something and encourage it to do better than he ever could, then is Tony Stark all that bad? Wanda then shared all of this information with Pietro over their link. They would try their best to be heroes, not only for their parents, but for themselves.
7) Tony Stark was totally and utterly innocent of this. He was manipulated to the extreme, his PTSD exploited and played with. Under normal circumstances, which he was under before being called to the HYDRA base that contained the Maximoffs, he would have, and did, shut down Project Ultron. He didn't have the project fleshed out totally, nor was the program fit to be integrated with JARVIS so the AI could pull the strings. This whole incident was started HYDRA's work, and continued by the mind that the Stone gave Ultron. The original programming had many a failsafe so that Ultron didn't go 'Skynet', yet the sentience given to Ultron chose to fight those protocols and actually go against them and do the exact opposite of what it was trained to do.
8) While the Maximoffs did have a heavy hand in the creation of Ultron, they are themselves innocent of wrongdoing. They were manipulated by HYDRA, the circumstances of their anger perfectly engineered so that the hurting Mind Stone could twist their minds deeper into hatred. They were used just as much as Tony Stark was.
9) Pietro sacrificed his life for Agent Clint Barton and the child he was saving. Pietro showed deep understanding of his powers, allowing himself the ability to move the bullets off their pointed trajectory. While moving his very atoms at such a fast speed, it was found that Pietro Maximoff experienced the world in 'slow motion' according to video that was obtained and analyzed at an extremely slow speed. He moved at a normal speed while the world around him slowed down by over twenty percent.
Of course Percy's full, in depth report was much more in depth, no matter how much her ADHD and dyslexia tortured her while writing it. The research and learning was fascinating and engaging- especially Pietro's high-speed moments, where Percy could follow his movements easily due to her demigod ADHD/reflexes.
Once her report was submitted, SHIELD took over and soothed the public, calming down ruffled feathers and deploying a good amount of agents to work as volunteers to help with Stark's Disaster Relief Foundation. Most helped with clean up and distributing need goods while others simply transported items or searched for survivors. While Percy and her fellow agents longed for home, they took pride in the help they provided. After all, this would be one of the simplest and safest missions that any agent had ever been on in a while.
--------------------------------
Percy was in New York when the Ancient One went by- they nodded to each other and stopped to shake hands, leaving the new sorcerer recruit baffled. The Ancient One had sought Percy out one day out of curiosity- fate seemed to be wrapped around her; she was a significant tipping point in this universe. The pair actually got on quite well and often sought each other out. There was nothing like talking with someone whose mental age far surpassed their body's own. Telling of secrets became easier and easier between the two, and they found solace in their somewhat similar circumstances.
When the Ancient One foretold of her quickly approaching demise, Percy comforted her and made promises to visit Elysium if she didn't try for the Isle of the Blessed once more.
A while after the dreary news, Percy was portaled into Kamar Taj to talk about the promise of the new recruit that had found his way to Tibet for help, yet still refused it due to his stern beliefs of science and not magic.
So when Percy saw the new recruit, mind you she was disguised once more, she immediately placed him as Stephen Strange- the one with the most promise to become the Ancient Ones successor.
"Who are you?" The doctor asked.
"Well Doctor Strange, I have to say," Percy glanced at the Ancient One for permission to say the next part, and with a nod Percy continued, "the better question currently would have to be what am I? And the answer to that would have to be that I am a creature of myth. Yes, my existence is drenched in what many would call magic, yet it is not that of which you practice."
The Ancient One took over, her calm voice soothing her short-tempered student, "I knew a potential magical being could possibly destroy this Earth, so I sought it out, as it is my duty to protect not only this universe, but the many dimensions that lay within it. This creature was a tipping point of our universe and I sought it out quickly; it was soon found that we were somewhat of what you would call kindred spirits. We led lives that were surprisingly similar yet startlingly different."
Before Strange could utter another word, Percy was on her way once more and didn't look back at the pair. Percy already had said her goodbyes to the Ancient One and Percy was sure that she would meet Stephen more in the future.
----------------------------
What would happen if Civil War did happen with Percy there?
Lagos was a mess- if Percy wasn't in a different country, she would have beat some actual sense into them. As it was, once she got back from her mission, she reamed them all out. Their actions had dire consequences after all and they needed to learn from them.
When Percy heard about Bucharest, Percy had called Mrs. O'Leary for a quick shadow travel, just quick enough to catch the collapsing bridge. Percy dove off the tank of a dog, and Mrs. O'Leary braced herself to prop up the falling bridge. Reaching inside herself, Percy tugged and water burst from a pipeline nearby. She quickly enveloped the falling debris in a web of water; the pressure and focus needed to hold this up was terrible, but she had held the sky. She could do this. Firing off a quick command, Percy saw her dog work to help get people out of the tunnel and remove rubble and cars alike. People skittered around the huge dog, but soon warmed up to her after seeing her helping as her tail wagged slowly. It took a while but quickly everyone was in the clear and Percy let the tunnel down gently. The water went back into the pipe and the hole in the metal was stoppered by a plug of ice that would stay until they could shut off the water and fix the pipe. The daughter of the sea felt bad about the damage she caused, but she was sure it was better than loosing lives or allowing harm to come to others.
Officers cautiously approached Percy as she was petting a tired Mrs. O'Leary, needing to ask questions on who they were. "I am one of the Avenger's handlers. When I saw the mess the Captain was making, I knew that I had to come and clean up after him. I'm a mutant with hydrokinesis and my dog here, well, we think that she was experimented on. Our closest bet was that people were trying to make another Hulk and wanted to test it on an animal first rather then themselves. Dallie here is a sweetie though."
{}
Percy knew that the Accords weren't even close to done and there was a long road ahead of them with amendments, but one hundred and seventeen countries were backing this document. They wanted people to be held accountable- they wanted to be rightfully protected against unneeded attacks that superheroes might bring that could be easily prevented. The people of one hundred and seventeen countries wanted to feel safe in their homes, trust that the heroes would warn them if danger was coming so that they could prepare or evacuate. The people of one hundred and seventeen countries wanted superheroes to put more weight on their actions, to realize that they couldn't run into situations half cocked and willing to bring dangerous to innocents.
So Percy signed the Accords and intended to help with the amendments to it.
{}
Percy hand managed to talk sense into Clint, bringing in his sister Laura and his niece and nephews ("What would you do if they were harmed and no justice was done because someone didn't have the forethought to warn them? What would you do if they died or got hurt and it could have been prevented?")
{}
They were in a damned airport in Germany because Rogers couldn't stop for one second and hear the whole story. Hell, he had been close to signing the Accords but with one word about Bucky, he was off. He fought for the little guy, but millions of little guys from ONE HUNDRED AND FUCKING SEVENTEEN COUNTRIES wanted to have a say in their own lives. They wanted to have a say in people coming into their home and damaging it beyond repair before those 'heroes' washed their hands of them, before these 'heroes' left them with millions of dollars of damages to buildings and people alike. Before the 'heroes' left them mourning the loss of loved ones that could have been helped, saved if they had been just a bit more careful and thorough with their help of civilians.
Percy didn't care if the people across from her were her family. She didn't care if one of them was her soulmate. The people of this world came first. She was tired of being used as a pawn for the gods, who didn't care for the repercussions their children faced. To have these heroes behaving like gods angered her so much, made her want to make them understand the years of torment she face because the gods were too coward to take responsibility for their actions.
"SCOTT LANG," Percy called out, "I am giving you one chance- don't fight and just go home. You won't be punished for breaking parole and Cassie will be able to have her dad back. You will be a hero because you acknowledged that you didn't fully know what was going on and acknowledged that it was wrong to jump head first into a conflict you know nothing about."
Scott hesitated for but a moment before the promise of Cassie overruled his inhibitions, running over to Percy and standing behind her.
Roger's anger built up, he was angry that they couldn't see Bucky was innocent, that he was being controlled. He was angry that his teammates, his family wanted them to be attack dogs for the government. So he ran, needing to get to that plane. He attacked, not pulling punches, not caring as long as Bucky was safe. Bucky didn't deserve to be punished for something that he was tortured for decades into doing.
Tony only brought Peter because he wanted only restrain. He thought that this would be a meeting between friends, not a fight. And when Rogers and those who stood by him attacked, he was instantly worried for the boy's safety. Tony had half a mind to ask Pietro to grab Peter and run away, so both of them could be safe- but he knew that the two younger heroes would be able to detain the other Avengers.

Pietro was conflicted- he wanted to stand by his sister a support her but he knew that either Wanda didn't read the Accords, or she did and didn't understand one lick of it. He didn't either- being manipulated to join HYDRA cost them the education that they could have, and would have pursued. If Pietro could help subdue those who were overreacting, to get them to sit and talk, and understand what the Accords contained. Then they could make their judgements about the Accords. One can only make good, sound decisions once they know all of the details. Once the others knew everything, Pietro would respect their decisions, but he would still protect the people he swore to protect when he assigned the Accords, no matter if it was from a villain or even his loved ones.

When Percy saw Vision preparing to shoot down Falcon who was following Rhodey, a foreboding chill crept down her spine. "JARVIS when I say, drop Rhodey."
"May I ask why?"
Vision fired a shot, and Percy just waited a mere moment. "JARVIS NOW."
Falcon swerved and Rhodey fell. "REINSTATE THRUSTERS AND POWER JARVIS."
Rhodey was able to catch himself before the armor hit the ground. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"
"That was me saving your ass Rhodes. Vis fired a shot, Falcon swerved, and it would have hit you. I didn't want to see the results."

Clint muttered in Percy's ear. "Nat is planning on defecting and helping Rogers we have to stop this now."
Nodding and focusing every bit of her being into her next words, her voice threaded with her siren power. "STOP!"
Everyone froze in their place. "We need to sit and talk. Like the adults we are. Enough is enough. We are pulling our punches, you are not. We came here to talk as friends. You came here, prepared to physically go through anyone who stands in your way."
But Percy noticed that Steve wasn't looking at her- but over her shoulder. Suddenly she felt a pinch in her neck and she whimpered. "Sorry ladybug." Nat whispered as she lowered Percy to the ground. Everyone stood speechless, stuck to the ground as Natasha ran over to Steve and his team, trying to usher them toward the plane, leaving Percy on the ground as her muscles locked up.
Tony's spine strengthened when he saw the demigod trying to fight off a PTSD episode as Peter and Scott ran over to Percy. Pietro looked at Tony, ready to run after the group when the command was given.
"JARVIS- initiate house party protocol." Tony growled out, eyes narrowed. You never hurt Tony Stark's loved ones. You could see how many people who threatened those close to him remained on this earth alive. If they were going to play dirty, it was only fair if he matched them.
"Of course sir." JARVIS answered, voice made of steel and sharp enough to cut.
Lights could be seen in the distance, multiplying and separating from one another. As they got closer, they could be identified as Tony's personal armors, not the Iron Legion. The suits hovered in a circle above the Rogues before dropping out of the air into the iconic Iron Man pose. In unison, the suits stood up smoothly, arms raising and repulsors whirring to life, causing chills to go down the spines of those that they surrounded.
Roughly forty Iron Man suits of all shapes, sizes, and colors had shown up, flown in, and surrounded the running Avengers in a tight circle. As the suits came closer and enclosed them tighter and tighter, half split away and started to hover above their brethren, pointing their repulsors down at the contained Avengers, allowing for not only a tighter containment, but also a way to discourage jumping or flying over the suits. Forty pairs of blue, glowing eyes glared down at them, disapproval seeming to leak from ever edge of each armor.
"What is this Stark?" Steve called. The repulsors glowed brighter and whirred as they were powering up to shoot.
JARVIS' voice echoed through each and every suits, a booming voice being projected directly down to Steve and his contained teammates. His voice was still sharp, almost begging for them to step a toe out of line so he could have an excuse to fire a shot at them.
"Steve Rogers, James Barnes, Wanda Maximoff, Natasha Romanoff, and Sam Wilson, you are being attained under UN command."

They were in a large conference room, sitting at a large table. There was a small army of lawyers, ready and willing to work through the Accords with the Rogue Avengers so that they could actually understand the document and actually propose helpful revisions and amendments. They also explained how Barnes needed a trial- they had outstanding proof that he was unable to control his own actions. But the people deserved to be safe, and they deserve to know what happened to their loved ones. With the seventy years of torture, Bucky wouldn't be punished, but the world would sleep a lot easier now that they knew he was innocent, apprehended, and being rehabilitated. Plus, people were much more sympathetic to a veteran prisoner of war. They were in the Compound, the Iron Legion surrounding the outside, keeping everyone who was not authorized out and away from the building. Inside, Tony's personal suits were standing guard around the room. A good twenty of them were inside the room, ready to protect the lawyers and subdue to Rogues if they decided to attack or escape.
Percy was in the medical wing, still recovering from the temporary paralytic that Natasha had given her. She was pale and drawn, still in shock about the fact that Natasha did that to her. That she attacked her in order to help Steve get to the plane and go after Zemo. Ten of Tony's suits had been sent out to Siberia, of course having gotten permission first from the countries they would enter to fly over, to detain Zemo and any of the possibly activated Soldiers.
Five of the suits were in the medical wing, a way of offering silent support and protection to Percy. Mrs. O' Leary had scrambled in after biting Natasha's ankles when she tried to enter the medical wing to apologize to Percy. Natasha was not only bitten, but the last five suits of the deployed forty had activated and escorted the spy away.She quickly jumped up onto Percy's bed and nuzzled into her human's chest. Shaking, sluggish fingers slowly dragged through her fur. So she licked her human's chin before sticking her wet nose into Percy's neck and snuffling. A chuckle was reluctantly drawn from the hurting demigod, and the pup wagged her tail at her success. It would be a long time before Natasha could regain Percy's trust and even longer to gain back Mrs. O' Leary's, and the hellhound could hold one hell of a grudge.
This is why having Percy there would be productive: she would have shut down attempts in the first place, and if she actually couldn't, Percy would have enough level headedness to take control of the situation until backup could arrive. She did lead an army against an army that vastly outnumbered them after all. Plus, you know that Percy wouldn't let Rhodey be the next Michael Yew. She would see all the dangers to each player on the field and work almost instantly to prevent any and all injuries to either side- no one deserved to get hurt in this disagreement.
