Sephyr
  What!
She looked so frightened and pale.

"We do not have time anymore,we have to get you to Mesophath," Drake said,shakingly.

My muscles tensed and I clenched my jaw in anger.
"No! I am going nowhere with you."

"You have to go, you need to learn how to use your powers properly."

"Yen.. Yen.. Yen," I said,mocking his words.

"Listen up birdie,I have taken everything you said to me but I refuse to go anywhere with you."

"You have no choice,Sephyr," mum said,cutting in.

"Mum,don't you think this is too fast?"

"Yea dear,but we do not have any time left,if they have managed to crack the gate,who knows what they are planning next,"she said soothingly.

"Hell no! I refuse to let my life be snatched away from me just because of some una tenebra thingy stuff woman,"

"It's 'unum tenebris'  and that is what you were born for.It is your destiny," she said softly.

"I refuse to be tied down!" I yelled walking into the dark forest leaving them behind.

They are just being selfish,they did not even think about what I want.
All they care about is their little god island.
Not taking note of my surroundings,I walked deeper into the forest with my mind clouded in anger.
I stopped when I realized what I was doing and looked around.

The trees in the forest were a bladder brown colour.It was silent except for the sounds of owls hooting.

The decaying air and stifling atmosphere provided the perfect abode for those who worshipped the darkness rather than light.
In the dense shadows,spiders clutched their snare-strings.Their webs shimmered like meshed steel dipped in silver.

The forest was primordial.Centuries old tress with sprawling limbs guarded the darkness allowing little to no moonlight in.

Their bark was mottled and splotched,as if bubbled soap had been frozen in time on its surface.

Clumpy combs of wet moss dangled from their rotten boughs.

Underneath the moss,lethal larkspur peppered the mulch floor.A pungent tang oozed from every sentient being in the forest.
It was truly a place to make your veins freeze over.

My heart beat spiked up and my breathing became heavy.
My palms became sweaty and I had goosebumps.
I looked around trying to find a way out when I spotted a human like figure few metres away from me.

I froze with fear and stepped back.The figure refused to move and stood there.The wind blew the branches of the trees letting moonlight sneak in.

I sighed in relief when I saw it was only a tree with a human like figure.

I walked back towards where I came from trying to get back to the derx circle.
I walked for some minutes before I realized I was walking in circles.Great,I am lost.

Fatigued,I sat down and rested my back on a tree which was probably not a good idea but I was too tired to walk.

Closing my eyes,I took in heavy breaths trying to get myself back.

My stomach grumbled again,I wrapped my hands around it and looked around trying to find something to eat in the forest when I spotted two red orbs between the trees staring at me.

I stood up shakingly clutching my stomach.

I heard snaps and growls from that part of the forest.
I peed on myself when the creature moved forward.

Wait, if I am supposed to fight the una tenebra thingy stuff woman then I should be brave enough to fight this creature thing.

With a new found bravery,I said,"You want to fight? Come closer."

I squeaked when it actually came closer.
"Uhh,take it easy,I was just joking," I said putting my hands up in surrender.
It just growled louder.

"Actually, please don't fight me, I assure you that I am not tasty at all and I currently have an empty stomach.
There is no point in eating me,you will not enjoy me at all.
My black belt karate days are far behind me, although they were great fun,I have discovered I am very allergic to fights,you know? It kinda takes my breath away,"I ranted walking away from the creature.

It snarled and walked towards me and what I saw made me almost puke my guts out.

It looked like a wolf,half of its body was bones with little flesh dangling from it.The other half was covered in scars and blood.It had glowing red eyes.It stood on its two feet like a man.It had hairy paws with talons curved like scimitars covered with black liquid.Its fangs were sharp and fresh blood covered its snout.

My mind went blank and I stood there,frozen as the creature jumped at me.It slashed my face and I cried out in pain,snapping out of my frozen state.
I screamed in agony clutching my face with blood soaking my clothes.

It carried my body and threw me to a tree.My back hit the trees and I heard snaps.It wrapped its paws around my neck and squeezed it,blocking out my air supply.

"Sephyr!" I heard my name being called and my body dropped to the ground.

Drake attacked the creature.It stumbled and fell over,landing badly.
He pulled out a knife from his boots and jumped on the creature stabbing it repeatedly until it went limp.
He got up,reached for the gun in his holster and shot it continuously.
Wielding several fire balls,he throws it at the creature that was now dead silent.

My head felt light,I was loosing blood fast and my body was in pain.I felt so weak and powerless.

"My poor baby!" mum cried out rushing towards me with Eunice following behind her.

"Oh my goodness!" she gasped out.

She touched my forehead and hissed out in pain, "She is burning up, I think she has been poisoned from the talons."

"Eunice,get me some water and Moringa oleifera leaves," she said while pressing my wounds.

She tore a piece of clothing and wrapped it round my neck, trying to stop the bleeding.

She had tears in her eyes, I was heartbroken and angry at myself for causing her so much pain.

The black dots in my eyes multiplied and I fought the darkness that was trying to claim me.
Drake walked towards me leaving the disgusting creature.He bent down and cupped my cheeks softly,"You will be fine,be strong for me."

Taking the distraction as an opportunity,the supposedly dead creature jumped towards Drake.I opened my mouth to warn him but I was too weak.I could not get any words out.

I fell into unconsciousness with the image of the creature on Drake.
